2 A LITTLE ELEPHANT WITH A LITTLE TRUNK

The young King of Grinia, Gerold Nenadovic, felt humiliated by the doctor's words.

After successfully helping a mother to give birth to her child, it was like a custom for a doctor to congratulate the parents of the child. However, instead of feeling pleased, King Gerold was furious when he heard the doctor's words.

"What do you mean I have a baby boy? Don't you dare to make a mistake when you work for the King of this kingdom!" King Gerold wasn't someone who would scold anyone just because he wasn't satisfied with someone's service, but he was really angry because of the doctor this time.

Even his body shuddered slightly, and he continued to frown at the timid doctor.

"My... my apologies, Your Majesty!" The doctor immediately apologized in a trembling voice. "I've checked the genital of your baby, and it's indeed a baby boy!"

King Gerold was still glaring at the doctor, but then he glanced at the baby in the doctor's hands. The baby was still crying loudly, and even the blood still covered the baby's small body because it had not been cleaned yet.

King Gerold suddenly had an opinion in his head when he turned to the doctor. "Maybe you made a mistake when you saw the genital because you haven't cleaned the baby. Ask the maid to clean her, and we'll know if you really made a mistake here."

The blonde king even used the word 'her' to address the baby, and the doctor gulped nervously.

The doctor knew that the King was expecting a baby girl because of the Moon God's guidance. It was not a secret in the entire kingdom, and thus, he could understand the King's feelings.

Never once had he made a mistake when he had to look at a baby's genitals, but the doctor still nodded his head before excusing himself politely. With nervous steps, he headed over to the maid who had been waiting in the corner of the room.

There was only a maid in the room, and the doctor had no choice but to hand the baby over to the maid.

Meanwhile, King Gerold heaved a heavy sigh after the doctor left with the maid and the baby.

"Is it true that I gave birth to a baby boy, Your Majesty?"

King Gerold could hear a weak voice coming from the side, and he turned around to find his wife staring at him with a pair of somber eyes.

Despite looking so frail right now, the Queen of Grinia, Richenza Nenadovic, could hear the conversation between her husband and the doctor. As such, she looked worried as she continued to stare at the blonde King.

The King noticed the worry on his wife's face, and he decided to walk over to the Queen and sit on the edge of the bed. His hand reached out to reach his wife's, and he brought the thin hand to his lips. Gently, he kissed the back of the hand.

"I believe the doctor has made a mistake," King Gerold spoke softly after pulling the hand away from his lips. Squeezing the hand lightly, he then continued, "The mighty Moon God said that my first child will be a girl, and we all know that the Moon God is never wrong, right? We just have to believe in our God."

Queen Richenza still looked worried even if her husband had comforted her. She remembered how the King was expecting a baby girl, and even the whole kingdom was the same.

They were waiting for the first Crown Princess of Grinia, and if she failed to make their wish come true, then she didn't know what else to do.

The Queen was nervous, and the King said nothing and just kept staring at the marble floor beneath his feet. Queen Richenza wasn't the only one worried. King Gerold was worried too.

After a dozen minutes of silence, the stillness was broken by the sound of footsteps approaching them. Turning their heads simultaneously, the King and Queen could see the doctor and maid entering the room again.

However, the faces of the two people looked as pale as paper. King Gerold noticed that, but he still let go of his wife's hand before getting out of bed.

With nervous steps, he approached the two people and stopped in front of them.

The King's pair of blue eyes continued to stare at the two people, but both of them avoided the gaze. King Gerold knew that something was not right here.

"What happened? It's a baby girl, right?" The blonde King immediately questioned the two people.

Even after hearing the King's question, the two people still avoided the King's gaze. They also did not dare to open their mouths to answer the question.

Feeling impatient, King Gerold finally took the baby out of the hands of the maid. The baby had stopped crying, and the pair of brown eyes continued to stare at the King.

King Gerold smiled at the baby as the baby was in his arms. The baby was beautiful. Her skin tone was fair, her hair was pink, and her eyes were brown. King Gerold noticed that the baby was like a copy of the Queen.

Glancing at the Queen who was still lying on the bed, he flashed a smile towards her, making the Queen frown in confusion.

Focusing his blue eyes on the baby's face again, King Gerold noticed that the only facial feature resembling him was the nose. However, it didn't matter to him. People say that a baby's face would change as they grow up, so maybe the baby would look like him once the baby grew up.

Even if he still wanted to admire the baby's beauty, King Gerold knew that he still had goals to work on.

Therefore, he immediately stopped smiling while removing the blanket covering the baby's body. Just then, his azure eyes were greeted by a small elephant with a small trunk on the southern part of the baby.

His heart immediately fell into his stomach.
