While holding the spherical object, Max was staring at Helene with owl eyes.

"Is this… really… a gardevoirite?!"

"Yes, it is, my dear," Helene confirmed.

Max then stared back at the stone and Scarlet afterward, who had her hands over her mouth trying not to cry.

{I… can't… believe it…} She loudly whispered with a slightly shaken voice.

{Oh my god! I'm gonna look horrible now.} Scarlet said before using her hands to vent air on her eyes.

"I… I don't know what to say…" Max said, looking at Helene once more.

"Well, most people say thank you, but you're free to say whatever you want," Helene assured, smiling warmly.

"Thank you? That simple phrase wouldn't be enough to express how happy you made me. How happy you made us.Thank you, Helene. Thank you so much." He replied before hugging the lady.

"You're very welcome, my dear." She said, hugging him back.

Max then broke it after a short moment.

"I mean… wow. She was waiting for this moment for a very long time now."

As they both touched their respective stones, it only took Max and Scarlet a brief thought towards mega evolution to cover Scarlet in intense light. From within, the gardevoir was changing form, growing in size, and obtaining new features. A couple of seconds later, the transformation was complete and the light faded. When Max and Helene could properly see again, their jaws dropped to the ground, barely believing what was standing before their very eyes. Scarlet had mega-evolved into the most beautiful, magnificent, and eye-blinding beauty they have ever seen. She had grown taller, maybe gaining an inch with slightly longer red hair and feather-like ears. Her crest had split in two and gotten longer. But, the best thing about her was her wedding-like dress and gloves, which were in a very flashy, shiny, and beautiful red-ruby color, in turn, making her become a living piece of jewelry due to the light reflection. Her usual red coloration was already beautiful, but her mega-form… was astonishing.

"I… I need a chair." Max said, able to find one in time before falling on it.

Scarlet then inspected herself.

"To a certain extent, of course, evolution being a good example as it mostly occurs when a pokemon needs it. Maybe you got so used to your altered color that you've accepted it. You don't need to worry about being orange anymore because as of now, you are a red gardevoir."

{That… doesn't make much sense… but it would explain certain things.} Scarlet replied, looking back at the mirror.

"In any case, what matters now is that you're the most beautiful thing ever." Max complimented.

Slowly descending the staircase, Max was accompanied by a beautiful mega-gardevoir, with her ruby red dress slightly reflecting lights. Not only did the other girls react the same, but the rest of the main hall went rather silent, as everyone was pretty marveled by the sight. Some even began to applaud to break the awkward silence, with almost everyone doing the same. They kept applauding until they were all the way down, making Max and Scarlet turn red with embarrassment. After lightly bowing in a grateful manner, the applause lasted for a short moment before it slowly subsided. To get out of the scene, Max and Scarlet joined the rest of the gang.

{Scarlet?} Bonny expressed.

{Is that you?} Aurora followed.

"Helene gave it to us," Max answered.

{Did she buy it?} May asked.

"Not if she planned to offer it to us on a special occasion such as this."

{It almost sounds like she had this planned for a while now.} Bonny said.

Giggling heartily, Scarlet joined Max, starting to choose what was looking tasty and edible for her. The gang then ate for a bit until they were full while getting in deep conversations. Once they had finished eating, the center of the hall had changed into a dance floor. We're not talking about breakdancing and such, but calm and classy couples' dances.

"Looks like some people are starting to have fun," Max said, while still munching on his last piece of food.

"Why don't you join them?"

Having been absent for a little while, Helene then reappeared where the group was hanging.

"Greeting the other guests. If we still want them to believe that the party is for them, then I must join them in conversations."

After Scarlet took it, both headed close to the center of the main hall. When there, they faced each other and grabbed each other's hands.

"I believe we have to do like the others."

With a very flustered gardevoir, Max mimicked the movements of the other and began to dance with Scarlet.

After isolating themselves a little, Max mega-evolved May without disturbing anyone and came back.

After Dusk hesitated for a moment, they all went to the dance floor and enjoyed their evening. After dancing for a while and switching between partners every few minutes, the group pretty much blended in with the guests. As everyone was scattered about in small groups, alcoholic drinks were served by the butlers and maids. Besides Luna having a few moral standards, they all tried alcohol for the first time, making them a little tipsy and even partly drunk. The least affected was obviously Luna with Bonny being the most intoxicated, closely followed by Aurora. While maintaining their bearings and not losing control, they were both a little wasted, but it was nothing serious. Later in the night, they even spotted a couple of casino tables that they failed to notice until now, with Max having introduced them to the worst human vice; gambling. Since they didn't have money, Max's pokemon were allowed to play just for fun, with Max deciding against joining them since he wasn't in a gambling mood. The night was rather spicy and rich in amusing moments, but eventually, everything had to come to an end as the night was getting near that with all of the guests slowly taking their leave. It was past midnight when only a few guests remained. All the girls went to bed except for Luna, Sally, and Scarlet, who didn't want to leave Max alone. However, Sally ended up falling asleep on a chair and a table due to exhaustion.

"Phew. What a night." Max commented, sitting on a random chair with Scarlet, both slightly wasted.

She was quite moderate with everything, mostly resorting to just looking around and watching the others have fun. And finally, there was Dusk, who mostly followed Max throughout the entire evening. Her evolution may have changed her looks and personality a bit, but she was still the introverted pokemon of the group. Even though she was less shy than before, she was still uncomfortable with trying new things and meeting new people, preferring to stick with what she knew.
