The fight for love and leadership

"How the hell does he see it coming?" Shadow thought as he was brought down by the blow. Shadow struggled to breath he tried to react quickly but failed to as Michael landed a punch to his eye sending him all the way down. Michael continued by landing a kick on an already down Shadow making him spit out some blood,

Michael grinned "What did you think I was not ready? I studied you, I know all your moves. I am the leader after all, I know everything." Michael was always one to talk trash during a fight, and Shadow hated it. He tried to shake the pain and get back in the fight when his mind was suddenly overtaken by a memory.

"I am expecting your child. I am officially 7 months 1 week and 3 days pregnant to be exact. Remember that night cat?"

Shadow's memory was cut short when he felt a slimy substance in his face. Michael had spat on his face. "Soon you will have no choice but to be my bitch and your little slut of a girlfriend would not be here to cause a problem" Michael whispered in his ear. His words filled Shadow Cat with rage, making the pain fade as anger was all he felt.

Shadow knew he was at fault for trying to be easy on Michael and not giving the fight his all but Michael was his brother, of course he wanted leadership back but he didn't want to kill Michael he was family. But not now, not anymore, the second he mentioned his princess things became personal. Shadow Cat used his sleeve to clean the spit and blood out of his face and began to get up.

After talking shit Michael had stood back up giving his back to Shadow and walking as if he had already been victorious. The cocky jerk then began to flex and showing off as to impress the gang.

"Remember that night cat? The night you revealed your identity to me, the night you asked me to officially be your princess forever, the night I promised myself to you and told you I'd be yours and only yours...The moment you left me, you left us! I gave myself and my entire heart to you and you left me here to carry your child on my own. You failed me-"

Pieces of the memory of reading the letter replayed in Shadows head. Shadow shook his head trying to stop them and get back in the fight, but he was grateful as the words were the only motivation he needed. He had a plan, he failed her once but he would not fail her again. He would save her, he would make her fall in love again, and he would marry her, but first he needed to get back in the fight.

"I will save her, I will marry her, I will be a father, and I will not be disrespected." Shadow told himself as he silently picked himself up. He was mad, not only had Michael disrespected him by spitting on his face, but he called his princess a slut, he was happy she had been kidnapped and that he won't allow.

Shadow cracked his neck and brushed himself off waiting for Michael to notice. He could have attacked while Michael was distracted but he believed that to be a bitch move, he was not one to stab backs he would fight like a man.

Shadow Cat stood there waiting for Michael to face him. It was as if he was never even hit. There was not a hint of pain, no exhaustion, nothing. Shadow Cat had his motivation and he was ready. Michael was still showing off, he never notice Shadow get back up and the gang members were not ones to give it away. Whatever happened will happen and they wouldn't get involved. It was the first rule for them during a fight for leadership.

"You will need more than that to put Shadow Cat down." Shadow spoke in the third person. His voice full of power. He saw as Michael's body tensed up and he simply stood glaring at his back waiting for his brother to face him. Michael could feel Shadow's glare and it send shivers down his spine. Slowly turning.

He knew Shadow would not attack him while he was distracted, he knew Shadow lived by his father's words, "A real leader never attacks from behind. Leave that for the bitches." As he turned he saw Shadow's eyes were half black and half hazel, Michael gulped. "I will teach you how to respect" Shadow's husky voice was heard all around the room.

Michael couldn't believe the lengths his brother would go through for Marie. It was something he never seen before not even the night he rescued him from the attack. He had found it odd that Shadow did not celebrate that night in fact with every kill Shadow seemed to make a face of disappointment and after the fight he was quick to leave. It all makes sense now, his brother would do for this girl what he never did for anyone else and that pissed him off.

"Still putting up a fight for that bitch?" Michael asked, more like spat out with distain only creating more rage in Shadow's heart. This time Shadow chose not to speak. Remaining silent he stared at Michael's every step. It was time to pull out his secret weapon. One that only his father knew he had. One that was not used often. Shadow had the ability to watch someone only once and soon predict their every move. He could also mimic their actions, and moves as if he could take over their bodies.

Shadow continued to stare at Michael predicting every move, every possibility, and every outcome. It was time to end this. It was time to show the reason why he was meant to be the leader.

Michael charged towards Shadow Cat at a fast speed but Shadow was faster. Without a struggle shadow side stepped making Michael miss him entirely. Michael then began throwing blows crazily and randomly but Shadow's body seemed to react on his own. Without giving it a thought Shadow blocked and dodge every single hit thrown his way. He soon noticed Michael show signs of exhaustion and began to strike.

Using his strength he struck Michael in the eye following it by able to his jaw. Shadow soon began to move faster than humanly possible. Appearing from one side to the other in a matter of seconds. Shadow Cat mimicked his every move all those that Michael couldn't connect he did. After a few blows he grabbed Michael from the back of his neck and pulled him forward kneeing him in the stomach. Then dropped down hooking one of Michael's legs and swiping him to the ground.

Blood was now gashing from Michael's nose and mouth. Not to mention the cuts on his face and cheeks caused by the contact of Shadow's strong fist to his face. Shadow had been taken over by anger. He proceeded to kick Michael twice in the ribs really hard hearing a loud crack right after. He was sure he had broken a rib but he didn't stop there. He couldn't. He positioned himself on top of Michael making sure to grab a fist full of hair and lifting his head up striking him in the face over and over again.

"I know you can. Please don't do this. You can be good, I know you can. Can you at least try, try for me?" Shadow stopped as he heard Marie's voice in his head. He could be good. He could stop. He could control himself and he did.
