Murder!

"Enough! Look at you Luke you look pathetic. Crying over a dying girl. Love is making you weak but don't worry I'll make sure to fix that. Now step aside" Chris yelled not hiding the disgust in his voice. Luke gave him a death glare but Chris was busy glaring at Marie to notice. He couldn't fix Emma but he would make sure to take control of Luke once again.

"No! I won't let you do this Father!" Luke spoke up stood up lifting Marie up with him and hugging her tightly. Marie could barely remain standing but Luke always managed to give her strength. "Don't be a fool son. This is enough step aside from that brat now!" "NO! I will not let you hurt her." Luke interrupted making Chris growl. "For the last time, son step aside" Chris commanded. "No, please I'll do anything you ever ask of me, I'll forget all of this but don't hurt her." Luke begged.

Anger filled Chris's veins. His son had just repeated the exact words Emma had said when he was going to kill her lover. He made a fist and clenched it so tightly he was sure it turned a whole new level of white. He would not allow his son to take the same path of weakness as his mother. "Step aside" Chris repeated. Marie knew this would not end well for Luke if he refused to listen so did what she thought was best. She made the decision for him.

Marie removed Luke's arms from around her waist and slowly and weakly pushed his aside. Luke stared at her feeling hurt. She wanted him to live, to live without her. She wanted to sacrifice herself for him but why? Why couldn't she just let him die with her. Didn't she want to be with him for eternity? "No, please don't" Luke whispered trying to reach for her. Marie took a step back getting away from Luke.

Luke felt his chest squeeze and his heart break. She was making a decision for him. Just like he had done for her before. He never knew how much it hurt till now. This was the moment he understood everything Marie felt when he left her those month ago. This hurt him even more. He felt confused, hurt, angry, and everything in between but one thing was certain, when he looked towards the future he could not see him being without her.

Marie smiled at Luke and mouth the words "I love you" before turning around and facing Chris. "Do what you must" she said very low. "Smart girl" Chris said while holding a smirk. Marie breathed in and closed her eyes preparing for the future impact but immediately opened them when Luke ran in front of her shielding her body with his. "No, I will not allow this. You are not taking her away from me."

That was the moment that Chris realized that like Emma, Shadow Cat could not be controlled. Those words filled Chris with indignation. He was sick of this; Luke had made a choice and now he would make his. Chris held his gun up towards Luke's face. "I see you are as weak as your bitch of a mother. I gave you a chance and yet you chose just like her. You chose her!" "I love her!" "Fuck love! Love is not real!" both men yelled back and forth letting out their frustration.

Marie could not understand why Shadow was trying so hard to protect her. Didn't he understand she was most likely still going to die anyways? She was weak and had lost too much blood, why couldn't he just accept that. Out of the corner of her eye Marie saw how Michael limped close to the men silently.

Unlike Luke, Michael always knew the truth about Chris and Luke's mother. Michael was raised in the system after his father abandoned him. When he was young, he ran away and lived in the streets where he learned to stay alive. There he found out who his father was. He learned Chris had abandoned him after killing his mother who had gotten pregnant during a one-night stand with this man. After that he despised this man.

He couldn't wait to be old enough to come back and kill him himself but was surprised to learn that he had already been killed before he got there. After coming back Michael looked into Luke's past and found out about his mother. He knew about her falling for someone leading her to being killed by his father. Although he was not aware it was Randy's father or about her having the same abilities as Shadow Cat, he knew there was more to the story but decided it was not his place to dig into it more.

Michael then built a special bond with Luke. They became like real brother. Feeling guilty Michael wanted to tell him what he had found out, he wanted to help him but he was so caught up in being the new leader he failed to see he had turned into the man he hated so much. But this was his time to redeem himself. Fate had given him a new opportunity to take out them man who ruined both of their lives and he will do just that.

Marie made eye contact with Michael and received a nod from him which she returned. Marie understood it was time for the distraction. "You love her? Fine, then die with her!" Chris started with hate aiming the gun at Luke's heart and not a second later pulled the trigger.
