The Witness Lead

Jefferson family house

In the hot afternoon, Detective Washington-Smith parked her Golf 7 by the Jefferson's pavement just next to Barry's car. Barry continued to wash the windows of the car as she closed her door and walked over. She had called Barry a few hours after Timothy's warning. And so Barry had invited her over.

A bunch of neighborhood thugs gazed upon the hot detective as they passed by the street, wondering what a cop was doing in this part of town.

"Detective Smith," Barry called out as she approached. "What's brings you here today?"

"Barry Jackson," she said as she stopped and watched him wash the car. "I thought I'd come and update you. I went through your father's case and despite the evidence of foul play found at the scene, I'm not convinced of your father's death. Your father's body was not recovered from the crime scene. The body initially thought to be his, well it turns out was somebody else's. Nothing is conclusive, the case remains open."
