You can do anything

"We know she did it. We can complain about it." Nora said, struggling to break herself free from Luke's grip.

"You really think, that would help?" He looked back at her.

He pulled her into the blind spot she was in the earlier day. "Nora, it's evident she has a strong backup, also she's from Republican University, it is one of the major sponsors."

"So we do nothing. They fucking stole our project, and we just sit back." She cried out.

"It's not like that." He sighed.

"Wait you still don't believe me, right. I did not give her the drive, I am not lying. Please believe me." She looked down at her feet.

"I believe you." She did not look at him. He sighed and held her face in his hands and looked her in the eyes.

Her eyes were watery, tears threatening to fall at any moment, "Oh Nora, I told you, I believe you." He said softly. "And as for now, you are the only one who can get us out of this."

"What am I supposed to do? Beat her up and run away with her laptop." She freed her face from his hands.

"I don't think so, that would attract a lot of attention." He chuckled. "Let's sit down first, then think about it."

"Sitting down doesn't seem helpful." Nora said, with her forehead on the table.

"It will. Think clearly." He looked at her. "We have 4 hours."

"You can think of it too. Why me?" She banged her head lightly on the table.

"I'm not capable enough. I mean you're Nora, the one who built an app, finished her target in a few hours. You can do anything, get into her system or something." He shrugged.

"Get into her system?" She murmured. "Get into her system!" She bolted upright which took Luke by surprise. "Where's my bag?" Luke stretched his hand and pulled her bag from the corner of the table.

She rummaged through it like a maniac, taking out everything. "There you are." She pulled out another USB drive.

"What's that?" Luke asked.

"Our way into her laptop." She smiled.

"Way? What is it a virus or something?" He raised an eyebrow. Nora nodded.

"What?! How did you get that?"

"I made it, I mean it's a prototype, but can help."

"Wait, you made a freaking virus! Why?" He was amazed.

"Is it really something you should worry about now?"

"You're right, but what exactly is this?"

"It's an Email virus. But it will also depend on our luck, it's still on the initial stage. First, we can only wish our project is in the laptop with her email address on it. Second, she has to double click on the mail, for only then can we enter her system."

"Is there a chance that you leave a footprint?" He asked.

"Nope, nobody will know." She assured him.

"Let's try it then, and I think have her email address."

"Are you sure, you want to do it?"

"Yes I am let's go ahead."

Nora inserted the drive in the laptop, and the screen went black, a few seconds later the code started to appear. "That's some hardcore coding there." Luke murmured.

"Hmm. So let's try this out." She started typing. "Well I customized the mail, I'll send it and then we wait."

"Okay." Luke nodded.

"It's not going to work. I'm telling you." Nora said.

"It's only been fifteen minutes, be patient." Luke replied.

"How are you so calm?"

"I cannot freak out like you, somebody has to remain calm." He shrugged.

"You're right. But still it's not going to work..."

"Hey the screen." Luke called out.

"What? Oh shit, she opened it!" Nora shouted.

"Lower your voice!" Luke said.

"Yes. But she opened it. Now, we are in control." Nora smiled.

"So do your stuff and look for our file in there." He said.

Nora was already at her laptop, typing, scrolling and reading stuff. All the while Luke looked at her.

"Did you find it?" Luke asked.

"Shut up, don't disturb me." She snapped.

"Okay ma'am." He said.

After about half an hour, Nora finally said something, "Here it is. I found it!" She pointed at the screen.

"Really?!" He leaned to look at the screen, which now displayed their project. "You did it Nora. See, I told you, you can do anything." His face split into a huge grin.

"Yes I did. And my stupid virus also worked." She giggled. "Okay, so now I'll cut it off and delete all the traces of this file."

"Yes do that, quick." He said. "I'll get some water."

The rest of the part was comparatively easier, she took their project file and deleted all of its traces, when something caught her sight, a video, she grabbed her headphones and played it. What she saw next pleased her the most.

"Luke come here." She said as soon as he came into her sight.

"What's up? You got our file, right." He asked anxiously.

"I did, but I found something interesting. I need to show it you, but somewhere private." She mumbled.

"Everyone's busy catching up with the deadline, no one's gonna see." He said.

"Still." She started to look around, every spot was taken, the lounge, her blind spot, students were everywhere. "The sleeping dorm?" She asked.

"Rachel and Joseph are practicing. Also there is Linda with them, just saw that." He shrugged.

"Shit. I do not want anybody to see it." She tensed.

"Is that so?" He put the water bottle on the table, pushed her chair inside a bit and stood close behind her, covering her and her laptop. "Hand me the headphones." He said.

She played the video, his expressions changed, from a serious poker face to a one with a huge grin, he leaned in to get a closer look. The video ended. Nora turned around swiftly, unaware of the distance between her and Luke, her lips brushed across his cheek. "Sorry." She jumped in her chair.

He straightened himself, "How did you get this?"

"Seems like her system was already attacked by a malware, due to which the front camera was recording on its own, it's been almost 3 months." She said.

"So what do you plan to do?"

"I replaced their introductory video with this one and obviously I replaced the project too. In short, we have everything which belongs to us and they have everything they deserve."

"Very good little hacker." He smiled at her.

"Thanks. But we still have to add the patches." She said.

"I'll do that, but first turn this thing off." He pointed at her laptop.

"Sure." She reboot her system and handed her laptop to Luke. "I have already added them, you just have to add them in the final copy. And don't worry our project is virus free." She put the drive back in her bag and pushed the laptop in front of him.

"I'll be right back." She grabbed her bag and scurried off.
