Before Ling Chuxia was able to complete her sentence, she was interrupted by Ji Xinxin, whose words were as sharp and piercing as before.

Ling Chuxia was a little melancholic briefly. She lowered her eyelids and said in a deep voice, "I'm to blame, I've infuriated him."

Ji Xinxin shrieked and jeered in a condescending tone, "You're a subservient and submissive servant, how are you able to anger Shi Che? Do you take me for a fool?"

Ling Chuxia was aware that she had little convincing power as she had been respectful and dutiful towards Shi Che. It would be unfathomable that she had intended to incur his wrath. She was unable to figure out the cause of Shi Che's anger.

Perhaps… her existence was the root cause for Shi Che's fury.

Ling Chuxia, unable to articulate herself well in front of Ji Xinxin, surrendered and stated, "Xinxin, I've to go home."

No matter how Shi Che embarrassed or belittled her, she could tolerate his attitude. She would not rebel as that was her destiny.

Ling Chuxia's meek voice was determined, which made Ji Xinxin pity her friend's misfortune and condemn her resignation.

She held out her hand, discarding her celebrity's status and image, and hit directly on Ling Chuxia's head, "Now you see it, you were always behaving like a doormat, no wonder Shi Che's fearless and takes you for granted."

Ling Chuxia could not retaliate. With her eyes wide open, she looked at Ji Xinxin imploringly, "Xinxin, I want to go home."

Ji Xinxin slammed on her brakes in a fit of anger, the car swerved to a halt at the roadside. She pulled down her over-sized sunglasses, stared at Ling Chuxia with her almond-shaped eyes. She parted her lips and looked as though she had wanted to scold Ling Chuxia. Finally, she slapped heavily on the back of her friend's head and uttered, "You deserve to suffer!"

Mr. Chu, under Shi Che's instructions, made a U-turn to look for Ling Chuxia. When he returned to where they had dropped her off, Ling Chuxia was nowhere to be seen.

Ling Chuxia was penniless and without a phone. She was unfamiliar with the roads, where could she have gone?

Mr. Chu was concerned about Ling Chuxia's safety and he drove along the highway searching frantically. However, Ling Chuxia was nowhere to be found. Anxious and worried, he decided to give Shi Che a call to give him an update.

Shi Che had already reached his office and was getting ready to attend an important meeting. His mobile phone rang. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Mr. Chu's incoming call and answered.

He heard Mr. Chu reporting anxiously, "Young Master, bad news. When I returned to the earlier location, I did not see Young Mistress. I searched high and low for her along the highway on the return trip. It's futile. She has not returned home. Will Young Mistress be alright?"
