Ji Xinxin sniggered twice. Her tone even sounded slightly angry. "Ling Chuxia, I should be the one begging you! Can you stand up for yourself a little bit? Please, you know that you are the wife of that bastard, written in black and white! Now you're acting like you're the third party instead!"

Ling Chuxia's expression had apparently not changed. In fact, apart from a slight reaction upon noticing Shi Che, she had not shown any reaction at the scene all the while. She was just as calm as when she heard Zhao speaking in the store a moment ago.

She had ostensibly not heard Ji Xinxin and she responded in a soft and monotonous voice. "Xinxin, let's go back up."

Ji Xinxin's big eyes were filled with indignation as they stared angrily at Ling Chuxia. After a while, Ji Xinxin let out a "Hmph!" and spoke no more.

Ling Chuxia dragged Ji Xinxin back to where they had come from.

On the other side, Mr. Zhu had driven the car over. Zhao opened the door and politely guided the woman and Shi Che into the car. The woman got in first. Just before Shi Che was about to enter, he somehow glanced straight ahead to notice the back figures of Ji Xinxin and Ling Chuxia.

For Shi Che, that familiar and slim back figure was unmistakably Ling Chuxia. He froze for a moment and his eyes turned gloomy. He calmed himself down and drooped his eyes. Finally, he got in the car.

Zhao quickly closed the car door and promptly went over to open the front passenger door before taking his seat. Mr. Zhu started the car engine and the vehicle moved towards the exit smoothly.

As they went past the lift lobby, Shi Che's gaze appeared to sweep across the area. He happened to see the side of Ling Chuxia's face that was as calm as it always was.

Shi Che turned his head away with a poker face. But he emanated a chilly aura that suddenly caused the air in the car to become stifling for no apparent reason.

Mr. Zhu and Zhao had been with Shi Che for many years and instinctively picked up the aura that meant the Young Master was in a bad mood. Both of them automatically held their breath and heightened their sense of awareness, as they tried to make themselves as inconspicuous as possible.

But the woman did not appreciate the situation. Things had been fine just a while ago, so why did the mood become solemn so abruptly? Although Shi Che was emotionless most of the time, he had not appeared to be so somber before.

The woman had not known Shi Che for too long and hence did not know him too well. Shi Che had only initiated their meeting once or twice on occasion, but she had since become complacent.

Shi Che was the Young Master of the Shi Family and now, the head of The Shi Company. Countless women had tried to get close to him and failed one by one. All, except her who managed to get the rich man's attention. It was only natural for her to be complacent.
