Ling Chuxia's heart went pit-a-pat momentarily at this point of contemplation.

Although Shi Che never liked her, the married couple still did have a sex life and especially right after marrying. Shi Che's passion in bed exceeded her expectations and caused her to occasionally be under the illusion that he did actually like her just a little. 

Of course, that was all but an illusion. 

Perhaps as the novelty wore off or for some other reason, Shi Che stopped becoming intimate with her at some point in time. Even when he was, it seemed more like a routine for him to satisfy his desires. 

Ling Chuxia had always been rather uninterested and felt that sex was an embarrassing activity. Initially, she tended to avoid and feel helpless at Shi Che's sexual advances due to her innate resistance. When Shi Che's cravings subsequently tamed down, she felt more relieved instead. 

However, this feeling of relief had now become her Achilles' heel.

By that time, Shi Che had not been intimate with her for a long time, despite sharing the same bed every day. Once he lay down, he was as still as a broken clock. 

His passivity only gave her more reason against taking the initiative. 

Mrs. Shi wanted her to bear a child and continue the Shi family line. But such a matter was not up to her alone. If Young Master Shi were not to cooperate, how could she do it alone? 

That was why a few months ago when Ling Chuxia was forced to the edge by Mrs. Shi, she bit the bullet and decided to give it her all.

Back then, Ling Chuxia never thought that Shi Che would lose his temper. 

They were a perfectly legitimate couple and had had various intensely intimate sessions in their bare bodies. Such a level of physical interaction was all but natural. 

Ling Chuxia daringly approached Shi Che and pecked him. And then... she had thought that the process would be arduous, but it turned out to be surprisingly smooth. 

She had, as most would expect, moved Shi Che to action, who too was reciprocating. The ending, however... was not only unexpected but gravely so! 

After the act, Shi Che threw her a box of ECP straightaway. 

He kept his silence but his intention could not be clearer. 

Ling Chuxia could no longer remember how she felt then. What she could recall was Shi Che's face contorted with rage. 

The strength with which he had dragged her around and restrained her seemed as if he was venting his anger. She appeared to be his enemy rather than his wife. 

In their three years of marriage, Young Master Shi lost his temper at her many times as one would expect. No matter what she did or how she did something, he was always able to nitpick her actions and rage at her without hearing her out. 

However, that was the angriest he had ever been in three years. His rage was so unreasonable that she did not know how to react. 

She knew that he did not want a child with her, so she did not react and did as she was directed to when he threw the pills at her. 

Still, he lost his temper. 

Ling Chuxia had a chaotic memory of that night and could no longer recall what happened, because of the excessive shock and fear that numbed her brain. Shi Che may or may not have said something. Anyway, what she could recall was what happened at the very end: the back view of Young Master Shi as he angrily broke the door and left.
