Invitation

Eun invites Yun-Oh to their home as his mother agreed to an interview. She agrees to be there in the morning, as Coree has an appointment later in the afternoon. “Hello, Yun-Oh,” Coree greets the young girl as she enters their home. “Hi, is there anything I can do to help?” Eun asks after he has introduced the two ladies. Coree has prepared food, and she invites the girl to eat with her in the lanai. “To eat al fresco is a great way to relax,” she tells Yun-Oh. Coree can feel that the young girl is feeling nervous, so instead of heading over to the interview immediately, she decides turn it into an informal conversation. “Is it difficult to be a fashion designer?” Yun-Oh begins with her questions. “Not really, you just need to focus on what you really want to achieve. Consider your client’s personality, it’s a great factor.” Coree seems to be enjoying the interview, and so as Yun-Oh. The girl starts to ask interesting questions, and though some of then aren’t on her list, Coree is very accommodating and is happy to answer everything. The lanai could be accessed by a pair of sliding glass doors from the dining area. It extends to a garden and is a few meters away from their home pool. Coree sees Eun peeking through the glass and shoos him away with her right hand. The three of them laugh in unison as Coree tells Yun-Oh that her son simply loves to mingle with her work at times. Yun-Oh smiles, and tells good things about Eun at school. “It is nice that you and Eun have a good relationship. Eun is quite famous in school for having parents who are known in their industries.” “So sweet of you,” Coree replies. She asks Yun-Oh about Nala, if he is a good friend of hers. Yun-Oh explains that Nala is a good friend. “Nala seems to be a bit old fashioned, don’t you think?” they laugh, as Yun-Oh explains, “He is a bit conservative, and he always warns Eun to be careful of who she makes friends with.” “And why is that?” “Nala thinks the owner of the Steak Villa isn’t a good influence.” Coree leans closer to Yun-Oh, and asks her, “I’m a bit confused, honey. I thought it was Nala’s father who owns it.” “No ma’am, it’s a woman named Mari. He introduced us once, and we’ve been in her restaurant for a few times. I think she’s nice, she always picks up Eun from here and drops him off at school.” Coree looks at Yun-Oh. She seems to be telling the truth, she thought. She knows that her son has been up to something, as she knew all along that it wasn’t Nala who accompanied him during his late night activities. She somehow is not expecting that it is Mari. She pretends not to think about it, and the interview went well. After an hour, the interview is done. “How was it?” Eun Lee asks his mother. “Well, I say your friend has an eye for both fashion design and journalism.” Yun-Oh blushes, and replies, “Oh thank you Missus Lee. For accommodating and for the lovely food.” Eun leads her outside, as Yun-Oh has her driver waiting for her. When he comes back, Coree tells her son to wait until her next appointment is over. “Eun, will you wait until Mama is done with meetings?” “Of course,” he replies with a huge smile on his face.
