Chapter 1: Towards Hindustan

Everyone in the Northern Country had seen the valour of the Crown Prince Kalki and rejoiced the country's victory over the war.

Yes! The war lasted for almost 6 months! The war almost killed the Emperor.

It was a war which took toll of around 10,000 people's lives in a single day. The Final day of war lead the whole country to famine.

The rich and healthy country turned into a land of Nightmare!

-----

The Emperor's Courtyard.

The Crown Prince walks out from the Emperor's chamber and growls "Victor!".

The soldiers stood like stone. Even they have guts, they would never move an inch from their position till the Crown Prince leaves the courtyard or orders so.

The Chief servant Victor comes running and kneels his right leg before the Crown Prince "The Emperor's Edict, Your Highness!" and hands the edict by his both hands, raised above his head.

Prince Kalki snatches it from him and reads with a solemn face.

His lips curved into a mockery smirk "This is it?!".

No one had courage to answer him and ask him what was written in the edict. Only Victor nodded lightly without a word.

Prince Kalki rolls the edict and keeps it inside his robes elegantly. He holds his both hands behind his back and glares around the room before speaking.

"Raise".

Victor raised and stood bowing his head down.

Kalki says "Prepare Everything! Your Highness will leave in an hour time!".

Throwing these lines, Kalki walks out of The Emperor Courtyard.

-----

An Hour Later.

Crown Prince started his journey towards Hindustan! He heard about the country already. Hindustan-The Country of Spiritual powers. He is a strong believer of mysterious powers himself for some reason! He is too excited to explore a country actually had people who worship different Gods! Poor man didn't know what he was going to bring back with him!.

'Just what made my Father, who was a strong devotee of Jesus ...Named me "Kalki". A Hindu God-to-be-incarnated'.

------

After a few days of travelling, Kalki was travelling towards a certain place, which his father mentioned to find his friend's daughter. He is now resting on a tree branch as it was already dusk. He couldn't trust this unknown land and its wildlife especially in the dark. So, he chooses to climb upon a tree branch to rest. He had been feeling overwhelming since he reached the country. He never knew that the 'country' Hindustan is not a whole one like his nation.

One thing he got to know about is, this mysterious place is far from his imaginations!.

After talking with many people, he got to know that he just opened a single vault of treasure with tones of lost secrets.

He was so immersed in his marvelous memories and was sleeping soundly until an arrow hit behind his head!

He jolts from his sleep and peers around through the darkness. He gasps seeing a pair of green eyes....watching him. His hand gripped his sword already and he stood still not to provoke his uninvited 'guest'. He still didn't find who or which is it!.

He had an advantage of the height as those green eyes were in the ground. But he didn't dared to underestimate whoever it is.

Kalki frowns seriously as the eyes started to divert from him and stares something ... beside him!.

He felt a shiver passing through his body thinking of a threat behind him where those eyes were staring. Before he gets a chance to turn back and check who it is, he felt a light touch behind on his neck. He gasps audibly and stares at those green eyes below turning into crimson red.

Kalki attacks behind him by his elbow but he felt nothing! He creases his eyebrows and turns to see behind at any cost.

But he only closed his eyes unconscious and fell from the branch. But for some mysterious reason instead of falling from that height, he was elevated in mid air before reaching the ground.

A shadow which made Kalki unconscious, comes out from the darkness and speaks in a creepy voice "Goddess! This thing has to be cursed! He saw you".

An another sound came from the ground while Kalki's body was gradually floating down towards those crimson red eyes. Only a hand came forward from a mist of smoke and touched Kalki's forehead.

The creepy voice states in a stoic tone "He took lives of many innocents and he definitely doesn't deserves Goddess's mercy!".

The hand which was touching Kalki's forehead withdrew from his forehead and came a mesmerizing voice "Take him to the Banks of Sister Ganga. He would get what he came searching for".

(The Sister Ganga is a River which flows in Hindustan now in Northern part of modern India. There people worship rivers as Goddesses)

The creepy voice sounded annoyed "Goddess! This man must be cursed for his deeds! Why is he getting the thing that he wanted? Please enlighten this student".

A husky yet divine laugh escapes from the mist of smoke and speaks "The curse..when I touched him..I can feel in his soul".

A gasp escaped from the creep voice this time "Felt?! Goddess! This can't be true! You can see a cursed person even without seeing their face! But you felt it only after touching him?! This means...".

The divine voice announces without answering him "Take him to The Sister. And help him finding an enchanting soul named Maya there. This man would do the rest".

The creepy voice only silenced and Kalki was moved effortlessly still in mid air following something aimlessly!.

-------

Next day.

When Kalki opened his eyes, he was lying on a tree which looked exactly same as he slept before. He hears some loud yet soothing sounds and frowns. He jumps from the branch and lands on the ground elegantly.

The divine music from the temple made the peaceful morning more serine.

He stands before a grand temple which took his breath once again and takes out the edict which his father gave him. The temple was exactly how his father portrayed! He enters the temple not before removing his boots. He asks a person who is busy with his work "Where can I meet Master Kalki's daughter?".

The man who was writing something in a cloth with a feather dipped in ink lifts his head. Kalki didn't miss the astonishment in that man's eyes.

'Who wants to meet Maya? She is the ultimate Goddess of trouble and disobedience!'

The man's face turned disgusted in a moment and mumbles "Find her where the illiterates were locked!".

Kalki who was scrutinizing his reaction, instantly loses his thought of meeting whoever the girl is and hands the man a piece of cloth which his father asked Victor to gave him when he met him last time. He mentioned that was enough to find the girl.

She is an illiterate.

The man's eyes turned serious once he looked at the edict and reads the content intently. In a few moments, he stands abruptly knocking some of his things beside him in the process and bows "I beg your forgiveness, Your Majesty! I will be right back in a moment!".

------

In an hour, Kalki was sent with a carriage with the girl in it. He never had a chance to speak to the girl and the girl too didn't insist on meeting him.

He snorts in disdain 'Indeed ... What can he expect from a mere illiterate thing?! Once I get the throne...'.
