Chapter 1 - The Second Son of the Chief

In the world known to its inhabitants as Maca, there are seven continents with each of it being fought over by different kinds of races, battles and wars are a definite occurrence in this kill or be killed to survive kind of world.

The Children of Order, Creatures of Chaos, different kinds of species fighting for their greed and survival could be seen in each known corner of this world.

Far from the sound of clashing metals and explosions of spells, In a plateau from the mountain ranges know as the "Abyss Wall" at the northern edge of the Central continent, there lies a small tribal-like community with peculiar-looking citizens going about their everyday lives

A being with a muscular body of a man with a literal bull like legs and head are now walking down the slope, outside the village to gather firewood.

A woman with her lower body and head having reptilian characteristics is holding a ladle in front of a stone stove, seemingly cooking something.

Children with beaks and wings as their arms similar to different kinds of ave species on earth are having fun, playing tag with other children with different kinds of animal characteristics.

All of it, though the being's physical characteristics maybe weird, it was peaceful

In a cliff not too far away from the community there stands a man. He has snow white hair with some strands of blue at the tip, had a charming masculine face with symmetrical characteristics and flawless radiant white skin

"𝘏𝘢𝘢𝘢... I'm already living here for five days but I still can't help myself from being weirded out from seeing this scene everyday..." the man sighed as he saw this scene once again

Well, what he said is kind of half a truth.

"Well, I'm not complaining though, it's not like I'm ungrateful for this second chance in life..." he said to himself as he turned to his back unknowingly showing a feather quill tattoo at the back of ears to the horizon as he started to walk away from the cliff

He withdrawn his fleeing thoughts and continued the stroll he mightily begged for from his current mother

The brat that talks to himself like some big and mature grandpa just now is a guy not from this world, his soul rather is not from this world.

The brat's name is Kieron, a high school graduate from PH country, due to a badly maintained huge signboard that smashed him to pulp on his way home, the high school kid Kieron unfortunately died.

No worries for he didn't have any loved ones waiting for him back on earth.

And Kieron, because of some unknown circumstances, he reincarnated into this world, reincarnated and not transmigrated.

He reincarnated as the second son of a village chief. It may sound something like the lowest official title that could be given in a human kingdom but that's it, the place he currently lives at is not part of any human kingdom or has anything affiliated with them

Even their kind is not entirely human, though his current appearance may be quite deceptive, before he regained his past memories, he was just like any other being of the village, a being with animal characteristics

That is the past state of his body, not until he gained a fortunate encounter at this very cliff while they were on the way home from training with his older brother and father. The day was about to end when that incident happened

Kieron together with his brother were on their way home, flying away from the training grounds when Kieron manage to spot an unusually tree, sticking out like a sore thumb in the middle of dense forest.

A weird feeling of yearning arise from the deepest part of his soul. It was as if it was calling him out to come over. Be it as it may, Kieron got curious and descended towards the front of the weird tree

His older brother, as if fate, was late to realize that his younger brother had descended. It was already too late when he responded, Kieron absentmindedly touched the tree with gusto and unknowingly make contact an unknown energy.

A wisp of unknown energy invaded his body and soul resulting in Kieron to undergo through an unbearable pain.

With his howls of suffering echoing throughout the forest, his brother finally learned about the danger Kieron came in contact with. His brother came to his only finding him to be weakly lying down the ground grunting and twitching from unimaginable mental torment

But, his older brother could do nothing about it.

He has no hands like ordinary human does for him to check his younger brother's condition closely. His older brother tried to think of a way to bring him fast to the village to be checked but to no avail there are no way he could bring his brother back without endangering his life

He didn't know what is happening to his brother currently, if he do something inappropriate it may worsen his younger brother's condition

Hours passed when the twitching and shaking of Kieron's body subsided but instead of having himself relieved, his brother had been more distraught for he noticed that Kieron stopped breathing!

His brother's thoughts was now in a point of being deranged!

He didn't hesitate to do anything now, tying the body of his brother with the sturdiest vines he could get he immediately flew up with the tied body of his brother as fast as he could towards the village

That night could be known as one of the sleepless nights of the Chief's Family

The elder who have a shallow knowledge about medicine was called and he tried all the methods he knew to save the dying child. They thought that Kieron was gone for good not until he started to show signs of shallow breathing again.

It was feint but it gave them assurance that he was still alive, but before they could fully celebrate the surprises didn't end there, the elder told the family, two sets of news, it could be considered both good but the elder was being more skeptical about the latter news

The first news is that, the youngest son of the Chief was saved and currently recovering. The second news is that, his curse was breaking and he is now transforming into a human. Hearing the news, the whole village went into an uproar

The second of the chief just died but was brought back to life and he now broke his curse and turned into a human!

The elder who was called out to cure the second son was suddenly brought into limelight, he was suddenly revered by everyone in the village as a powerful being who could bring the dead back to life.

He was also believed to be able to break the curse imprinted to the blood of their ancestors

Finally! One of them was finally forgiven...

based on their lore, the tales that was passed through tongue in the village, they aren't looking exactly like this in the beginning, they were once look like humans, but all of a sudden the god their forefathers worships had fallen, and because this god has many gods as his enemy, the loyal believers of the fallen god was cursed by the enemy god

Since then, many of them tried to find a cure but to no avail, none succeed.

Not until that night.

They all thought that all they need to do to be human again was to be injured to the point of death then be revived. They were all ready and was about to execute themselves when finally, the elder talk some sense towards the mad villagers.

"You all wanted to be human-like but acts without thinking as if a mindless beast! Acting without thinking about the consequences! Acting without thinking about their Children! Go then! Kill yourselves! But don't expect me to lift a finger when you beg me to sew you up later!"

After cursing them with words the elder finally left the square leaving the conflicted villagers behind.

The next day after that night, the atmosphere within the village was weird but life continued on, forgetting the craziness they have thought about last night. The villagers go on towards the chores they needed to do for the day but they didn't forget the miracle that had happened last night.

They forget about the crazy procedure to be human but they still hope. It may not be their time now, but soon, they'll live a life like human does.

And while everyone was out dreaming about the day they'll become human.

Kieron, who was mildly forgotten by the villagers, had opened up his eyes in his room with the memories of his past life as a normal high schooler from earth.
