1 1 : The Collision Guy - [Katherine's POV]

I am sitting here, thousands of miles away from the city that holds my worst nightmares, in the cafeteria of my college. It has been raining since morning and there is huge chaos in here. It smells like coffee and cinnamon.

It has been 3 years since I lost my Mom. She died of cancer and her abrupt departure left me hollow. No sooner she was gone, within a month, I lost track of my childhood love, Daniel, too. He was my best friend and my soulmate as I used to believe. Since then my life lost the touch of home and my heart became homeless.

Memories start to trickle down on me like the drops of acid and tears dwell up at the back of my eyes. Before falling apart publicly, I grab my backpack and rush out of the cafeteria's door until I collide with a wall.

"Ouch!"

The very next thing I know is I am lying down with my belongings scattered all around the floor.

"There wasn't any wall until yesterday here. " I whisper to myself and look up at the wall.

Hell No!

There isn't anything like a wall, not even close. There is actually a tall masculine guy dressed in black from head to toe, like the one in a fashion magazine, looking down at me blankly.

He has got a sharp jawline, with water dripping down his blond hair to his pink lips. His eyes are guarded by the shades yet I can make out that they are fixed into mine.

Soon his eyebrows furrow and it brings me back to reality. I am supposed to collect my belongings and move out, not to stare at him foolishly. Embarrassed by my gestures, I swiftly start picking up my things.

Rather than helping me out, this epitome of perfection continues to look down at me.

Hah... Looks can be deceiving! Hence proved.

I stand as soon as I am done and make my way through the corridor. Before heading out of the door, I turn around to give the guy one final look until I collide into another "wall".

Crap!
