Were they being a nuisance?

Thud!!!

Ryan was thrown down and the rest of the people could only watch in horror. Steps resounded coming down and they looked at the appearing silhoutte of their Chief.

As it seemed, she had heard all the heated exchanges between Ryan and D. And it was all Ryan's fault, according to her. She coldly glanced at D and then anger filled her eyes as Ryan stood up again.

"Who do you think you are? My bodyguard or something? Ryan, they are our responsibility. Show some respect for god's sake. Just fucking let me be done with this goddamn mission!", her anger exploded at him. But being the jerk he was, he just condemningly looked at D and scoffed. Seeing this, Zsadin lost her cool.

"Ryan, if you do not respect my decisions, you are free to leave the batch", and she turned out leaving Ryan flabbergasted. Her calm and composed voice shook the hell out of him. It was evident that he had crossed the line.

"Chief, I didn't mean to disrespect you. I was just-", but she left the hall and strolled outside. Ryan panicked and followed her.

The others who were still shocked from Ryan's fall and Zsadin's outburst, came back to their senses. But D and the others had never seen this terrible and scary side of the officer. She was pretty much riled up but her words hit them like a wave.

'Let her be done!'

Were they being a nuisance!

Nancy and the others saw their dejected faces and immediately consoled them.

"Boys, please don't be so sad. It is just that the criminal in your case is a little important to her", hearing this D's ears stood on edge and he intently stared at Nancy.

"Why? Why is he important?", he enquired but the batch just shrugged it off saying that they suspected his involvement in something.

Outside the villa, Zsadin was staring at the stars but this time she was not alone. While her eyes searched those particular stars, Ryan intently looked at her face. Those lifeless eyes which used to lit up after finding devastating and heart shattering clues. They hadn't lost their spark or their innocence but were cursed to see the cruel world and its politics. Those hands which had massacred a lot of people in an attempt to get closer to internal peace. That heart, which contained nothing but hatred for those devilish existences. Ryan sighed deeply and sat down beside her.

"Ryan, you remember? During our first mission when we had caught that fugitive and you hesitated because you were not sure? We had let him go and he'd backstabbed us, killing Angela. That was the first time I hated you and today was the second. You remember right? A third time, I will have you transferred!"

Saying this, she walked past him but he suddenly stopped her. He held her hands and gazed at her.

"You know what I feel right? You know it! Yet, you choose to ignore me! I can tolerate it all but another man trying to woo you is something off-limits. You cannot stop me on that, atleast allow me this!"

Zsadin sighed, "Ryan, you are aware of my unstable being, aren't you? You know my current condition! Then why, why are you making this difficult? Rest early, good night", and she left him in that quiet garden. He pondered for a while and headed back into the villa.
