Was it possible?

When Rose received the call, D and the boys were sitting in the main hall playing an online game with each other.

"Uhm...Vell?", Rose hesitated a little.

"Hmm?", Vell was so immersed in the game that he didn't notice Rose losing her composure.

"Can you all head to your rooms for now? We are having a in-staff meeting", Rose shakily said. D and the others looked at each other and then glanced at Nancy.

"Alright!"

"You can come down when the meeting finishes. I will notify you", Rise voice was still shaky.

After they headed to their rooms, Rose informed Gabe and the others about the situation. Immediately preparations were done. Zsadin's private doctors were notified and brought to the villa. They had brought all the equipments with them and they got busy setting them up.

When Zsadin's car arrived, she was already unconscious. Jacobs was carrying her on his back, his black shirt totally drenched in her blood and laid her on the stretcher bed arranged in the main hall.

"Zsadin, can you hear me? Officer respond to me!", Jacobs was nudging her. Desperate to wake her up, he began to remove her shoes and socks.

"She is not responding, everybody out. Except the medical assistants, I do not want an extra person here. Everybody out, NOW!", each second passing by increased the anxiety in Jacobs. As soon as the room was cleared out, he begin cutting her clothes for her breathing to ease down. But when he saw the corset he almost lost it.

"You damn idiot, this is why you got unconscious!", and he handed over the scissors to a female doctor. Carefully she cut the corset and covered her. Thankfully, the bullet had not pierced through her heart but her left arm and was not touching any major blood vessel.

Just when they were about to operate on her arm, the door barged open revealing a shocked and worried D.

"What happened to her?" and Jacobs controlled his urge to punch the guy across his face.

"We are removing the bullet, do you care to leave this instant?", he was totally and desperately trying to control his anger.

"Gabe, take this person out!"

"Yes, Chief", Gabe grabbed D's arm and dragged him out where the others were sitting.

"Calm down, D. She was shot and they are operating on her, don't disturb them", Gabe was being patient. In reality, he himself wanted to beat this guy for interrupting.

"Who was that person inside?"

"Who.....Chief Jacobs? He is Chief Lee's son and a paramedic. Let me warn you about this, do not confront him, for anything. I repeat it. For anything. He is a total no-nonsense person and is feared by the whole of Cannon HQ, except Chief", Gabe seemed to be admiring him rather than answering his question.

"Can I stay here, until her operation is finished?", D sighed.

"It is not an operation they are just removing the bullet and stuff. It would be over in an hour or so", Gabe shrugged, "Chief Jacobs is scaringly fast in gunshot wounds!".

"Hmmm", D hummed in response.

When he glanced at the others he could see that they were patiently waiting for it to be over. They were not panicking nor crying. They just....waited.

Is it possible to trust someone's skills so much?

The thought brought goosebumps all over him. If someone asked him this question, what would his answer be?

Was it even possible?

But the answer to this question was practically screaming in front of him. The batch's calm expressions, their sad smiles which were seemingly giving him reassurance. D couldn't stand it anymore and returned to his room.
