The Shooting Game

Uhm..what?

D and the shooting game?

Are you being serious? The boys choked on the food and had to be handed water. Others helped them by patting their backs and all. The female officers looked at D with admiration.

'He knows to shoot...wow!'

D ignored them all and stood in front of Zsadin.

"I know how to shoot, I want to compete", he eagerly said.

"As you wish", she coldly replied. It wasn't the first time someone was trying to approach her. She had dealt with it quietly, her countenance calm. But unlike her, someone was giving off a not-so-calm aura. Ryan glared at D as if wanting to tear him into pieces. Ben could feel like he was in some cold storage about to freeze. He whispered to the iceberg beside him, " Stop it already. You are being too obvious!"

"This is getting interesting, you know", Jacobs mischeviously glanced at Zsadin and Ryan. He had been observing D's behaviour around her and could see that he probably cared for her and liked her, too. But he knew well than anyone, about how stiff Zsadin was and how much she opposed the idea of love.

Zsadin glanced at Jacobs with a will-you-be-quiet look and he stopped his actions.

Everyone else including the boys couldn't help but glance worriedly at D.

"Are you sure, like you have not practised in years. No, no, no. I am not doubting you-", Vell was genuinely worried.

"Shut up already!", D fumed and left the dining table. He was headed towards the grounds when someone tapped him.

"Don't try too hard, you are just being ridiculous", Ryan mocked him and left without a glance.

D sighed, trying to control his anger.

'Ah, this bastard seems to be putting him off so easily!'

Everybody headed towards the grounds where the shooting range was set up. A big roofing shed where chairs were neatly arranged along with a table with a horde of rifles on it.

"Each of you has 10 bullets each and are given a time limit of 20 seconds. Let see who wins!", Zsadin headed back towards the shed. The batch started to pick their rifles and took 10 bullets each. They were nervous like hell. They should be! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity! Accompanying Chief on a dangerous mission, the mission for which she was striving from the start!

This mission held too much importance for her. The batch wanted to accompany her as soon as they had heard about it. And now they finally had a chance to go!

In pairs, the batch came forward and gave their best shots at it. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! The sound of bullets firing non-stop was ear- deafening. At a point, even Jacobs put a hand on his ear. Damn, this sound! The batch had impressive scores with no one dropping at less than 70 points.

But still no one had shot at the bull's eye!
