Should we directly ask her?

Zsadin and Ryan were sitting on stools a little away from the batch and couldn't hear what the batch was discussing.

"Have you all noticed?"

"Chief James, right?"

"Yes, he said that Brandon had killed someone!"

"He clearly said 'Pa', what could it stand for?"

"Could it be parents?"

"Hey, what are you saying?"

"Yeah how is it even possible?"

"Let me ask you all one thing!"

"Hmm"

"Go ahead...."

"We are working under Chief from such a long time! Right?"

"Yep"

"Have any of you ever seen her parents? Or even heard her talk about them? No! She has never mentioned them! Right?"

"Yes, you are right!"

"Should we directly ask her?"

"Hey come on! If there is something that we need to know, she will surely tell us, right?"

"Yes, I agree but still, she should have told us about it, don't you think?"

"What should I have told you?", Zsadin's cold voice startled everybody and they glanced everywhere but at her.

Seeing their reaction she was amused.

"Nancy, speak!", Zsadin scrutinizingly looked at her, shaking away her resolve to open her mouth.

"Uh...Ch-chief. We were just discussing random things. Th-that Rose had forgot to tell us an important detail! Ye-yes she didn't tell us that she was dating-", Nancy straight faced lied to her while Rose gaped in horror.

"Who is she dating?", Zsadin pushed the matter. She wanted to see till what extent can these people lie to her.

"Ch-chief, um...Rose is....is...dating Gabe yes...yes she is dating Gabe!", the pleas in Nancy's eyes didn't go unnoticed by Gabe but Rose ignored her downright.

"What? What are you saying, Nancy?", she was more concerned of her image than Nancy's.

"Stop joking and accept it, come on!", Nancy blinked at her making a puppy face.

"Hey, but I am not dating him! How could I-", Rose kept on declining knowing fully well that lying to ths Chief came with their own consequences.

"Wh-why are you getting all shy, Rose? Just accept it that we are dating!", Gabe too joined in lying but Zsadin's patience had ended.

"Liars!", she retorted and everyone blood froze in their veins.

"What were you all talking about?"
