A small sad smile....

He was just 10 years old at that time. His father was an official at the Cannon HQ, a place where he was inspired to be. His life was very lonely, no siblings and a nowhere-to-be found mother. One day when his father returned from a mission, he went to meet him. But his father had brought a girl with him, she was scared and scarred, covered in bandages. When he saw her, he immediately took her as a sister, one who he came to protect fiercely in the coming years. But she used to be scared as hell when he approached her.

He had heard from his father about her parents and couldn't feel anything but sorrow and pity. Though she never cried, her eyes seemed dull yet attractive to drown any person who further attempted to peek in.

"Be careful with it Jake, she is sensitive and on hyper alert", Chief Lee had warned him ahead. The girl never slept, she was always awake. Whenever she slept, she used to scream in her sleep, toss and turn, cry. It used to take forever for Mrs. Whitt to calm her down. One day when he was playing with his best friend Ryan he noticed her sitting nearby and glancing at something. When he approached her, she didn't flinch like always but gave him a small sad smile. A smile that came to haunt Jacobs everytime he saw her. A smile that made him cry in front of her with her looking at him emotionlessly.

Then came a time, when like other children she needed to go to school and study. Different school, different teachers and different classmates was the last thing Zsadin could endure. So, she ran away, away from everyone away from that school and away from everything.

But the most surprising thing was she came back with Ryan finding her and bringing her on his back. How he found her was something he still didn't know nor asked about it to Ryan.

"Chief!" another doctor approached him bringing him out from the past.

"Chief! She is ready to come out now, but..."

"But?"

"There are some other people who have arrived and whom I believe should not be seeing her" the doctor gulped.

"Who on earth has come here?", Jacobs was thinking of people who could possibly know today's incident.

"Is it James?", he cocked an eyebrow.

"Yes, it is. He has brought some things he claims are for her!", the doctor snickered.

"Ah, this cocky bastard. Tell him to come here!", Jacobs tried to be calm and composed. The doctor nodded and left. After sometime Jacobs could hear footsteps so he annoyingly glanced at the intruder.

"I heard that she was injured and you tried hard to conceal this from me. I am impressed", James could not help being sarcastic.

"Who the hell do you think you are, huh? To be messing around like this, you must have a lot of free time right? Should I nudge Chief Lee to send you on the borders or to some dangerous life threatening mission?", Jacobs didn't even try to conceal his annoyance.

"Cut that part. How is she? Like I was wondering if her situation is life threatening, you know? I would be spending a lot to celebrate that" James smirked.

"You need to hold that celebration shit for now, I ain't dying anytime soon!" A loud voice retaliated at James.
