Chapter 13: On the run

Elaine search every place inside the storage, she search every boxes and every drawer she can see. Then she saw a pile of album pictures. It was an album from her father, Elaine looks to her father's album. She saw Edward's eye color was blue from his childhood to when he got married. She is confuse as she remember they have the similar eye color. Elaine decided to look from another album to look for more information.

On another side, Ethan finish talking to her mother and went to his room. He saw Luna playing on her mobile while Jae comfortably playing at Ethan's computer. "Where is Elaine?" Ethan asked looking for her. Jae and Luna look to each other confuse. "I thought Elaine went to Sala? She has also have something to say to Aunty" Luna said while Jae nod.

Suddenly Ethan think that maybe Elaine heard about something. He feels his heart suddenly stop, thinking Elaine might actually heard what his mother and him talking about. "I need to…. Explain to her proper.." Ethan Said and left to his room looking for Elaine. Luna and Jae stop what they were doing and follow Ethan.

"what about Elaine? Did something happen?" Luna asked. Ethan stop and look to Luna, but he don't know to explain. Luna tap Ethan's shoulder "Okay, let's find Elaine first" she said. Jae call Elaine's phone but it was only ringing. "Let's go to here room first, maybe she is there. I don't know what happen but I think it's best to calm down" Luna said.

They went to Elaine's room but they found nothing. "Maybe she just buy something?" Jae suggested. Ethan worriedly sit on Elaine's bed. He sigh as he look to his phone calling Elaine. "Okay, let's wait here" Ethan said.

Jae and Luna sits beside him. "So? Can we know now?" Luna asked.

"I don't know how to explain it, but Whenever Elaine asked about her why she different to us… we always said that she is not different." Ethan said. Jae look so tilt as he try to progress what Ethan saying.

"Elaine asked if she was adopted before when she still 5 years old. We chose to say she is not… because we think that time it's not the good time and also we think why does she need to know? Were still a family still" Ethan said and lay his back to Elaine's bed. "His parents… we choose to keep it a secret since they are dead.. Because of me" Ethan said.

Then suddenly they heard the door slam shut. All of them know it was Elaine, they all rush to the door and try to search for Elaine again. Ethan rush oust side their house and saw Elaine was running through their gate bare footed. The rain start pouring and Ethan no is extra worried. He hurried and tell it to his mom about what happen then rush outside to search for Elaine himself.

"Luna, stay here and contact others if Elaine went to them.. Tell me or tell Charles please" Ethan said then look to Jae as he also coming for the search. Ethan and Jae open their umbrella and went outside. Ethan and Jae was walking quietly as they look to every place where can Elaine hide. "Thanks-" Ethan was cut out by Jae.

"Just so we clear, I am doing this because I am worried about Elaine" Jae sounds irritated. "That's why I hate Older brothers, their hobby is to lie" Jae added. Ethan didn't say anything thinking that Jae is right and it is his fault why this happen. Jae stop walking and drop is umbrella to hold Ethan's collar, Jae looks so pissed and about to throw a punch but he didn't continue. "You keep saying you guys are a family… If I found Elaine first.. I will not going to give her back to you guys. I just realized that all older people except Luna is terrible" Jae said and let go of Etna's collar. Jae left him standing in the rain.

Jae run and search of Elaine but nothing happens not even a slightest clue where Elaine go. Jae stay outside the coffee shop for a little time to rest, he is soaking wet in the rain then someone grabs his arm. "Jae? Is that you? Are you alright?" A guy with black raven hair and green eyes hurriedly open his umbrella and throw his empty coffee at the trash can. Jae look so irritated "Who?" Jae snap. The guy smiles brightly " It's me! Yumi Nam… your club member in Pro-gramer club(A pun for Pro-gamer and programmer)… the one with the girly name" He chuckles. Jae bow as a greetings and about to left Yumi but he was stopped by him again.

"You look like you need help, you don't even have umbrella" Yumi look to him worriedly. Jae hold his temple as he was trying to calm down. "I don't need help, lets catch up at school then. Bye" Jae said but Yumi grabs his waist away from the direction of the road, he would have been run over by a car if Yumi didn't help him. "can you tell me at least why you're in such a hurry, that it's okay for you to get soaked in the rain?" Yumi asked. Jae remove Yumi's hands around his waist telling him by his gesture that he can stand now. " It's a friend, she run away.. I need to catch her. It's raining and he is not really fully recovered from her injury" Jae looks so worried as he knows he is wasting time talking to Yumi. "I am sorry, I really need to find that friend-" Jae was cut out.

"I am now worried as I heard a person is injured and running around in this rainy season, I'll come" Yumi open his umbrella again. Jae on another hand he don't have the time to asked why would Yumi help him and just hurry and search every corner that they were near. Then from a far, he saw a man with a black suit holding an umbrella… for the trash can?. Jae rush towards them and clearly saw the man was Charles and Elaine was hiding at the trash can, Charles was simply holding his umbrella for Elaine.

"Elaine!, what happen to you? Why did you run away?" Jae rush towards Elain. Jae look to Elain, She is sitting at the ground holding an album and looking only to Charles. "You're going to tell me anything that you know" Elaine said. Jae didn't notice that Yumi holding his umbrella only for him, like Yumi doesn't care of he get soaked too.

Charles agreed just so Elaine won't run away anymore. "One more thing… I am not yet ready to go home so.." Elaine said. Charles was living at Smith family so he can't suggest it while Jae was on a run for his family too for untold reason and was currently living at Smith family, if Jae call Luna Ethan would know and Elaine don't have a choice but to run away again. Charles, Elaine and Jae look to Yumi. Yumi laugh and smile "you guys are welcome to my house" he said.

Jae, Charles and Ellaine was finally at Yumi's home after a long walk. Charles quickly made some preparation to warm up Charles, Jae and Elaine he even made some hot chocolate with the permission of Yumi. Jae went to the kitchen where Yumi's at, he rolled his eyes since he need to socialized and befriended him because he gave lots of help to them and it would be rude just to not talk to him. That is what Jae hated the most, the effort to talk to someone as if he himself a friendly guy.

Of course I will be the one who will approached him first, how should I approached him?.. I think I need to be cheerful since he approached me cheerfully also. Jae sigh and put up with a fake smiley cheery vibe. Jae place the empty tea cup so that would Yumi be aware he is there. Yumi look to Jae with a big smile, Jae smiles also but deep inside he feel tired. "Thank you, for offering us a help." Jae started then Yumi seems surprised and lean to his refrigerator. "Oh? You seems more calm now" Yumi said.

Jae awkwardly scratch his head "yeah, I am sorry if I am kind of rough at you at first. I was just worried for Elaine, anyway I remember you as a club member of that club too" Jae said as he is watch Yumi to wash some tea cups. Although it so awkward that for all the months I have been there no one approached me… and now your acting friendly to me makes me more confuse. Jae said to his mind and offer a help for wiping the washed cups. Yumi shyly smiles "I am happy you remember me" he said. Jae saw what Yumi did and die inside from cringe.

"Well anyways, I can't focus on two clubs so I'll be quitting that club" Jae said and told to himself that it would be much dangerous to stay on that club now that Yumi is acting friendly to him. Jae suddenly saw Yumi's expression becomes sad. Jae panicked as he think Yumi is an emotional person and he never handle such person in his entire life. "W-well, by the way as a thanks for helping us let me treat you some time for a drink?" Jae suddenly asked just to make Yumi's mood bright again.

Yumi didn't say anything at first makes Jae more nervous. "Well then, I'll be the one who will say when" Yumi said and Jae nod as a reflex. After they finish washing up the teacups Jae and Yumi went to the Sala. "It was late now, Elaine can use my room and lets sleep at the Sala" Yumi said and all agreed. Elaine went to Yumi's room with Jae, suddenly Elaine look to Jae confuse "Why are you following me?" Elaine asked.

"Well I will be your guard, I mean.. I will wake you up whenever you're in nightmare" Jae said. Elaine look to Jae as if he is a creep. "ugh, no. Your still a guy Jae so I better be more careful. Charles on another hand is like a grand pa to me.. Even though he is only 40 years old…" Elaine said. " And!... Charles always wake me up back when I am in home so he knows more what to do" she added. Jae looks so defeated then let Elaine went inside.

"Well can't be help, were going to sleep together" Yumi smile like a happy puppy wagging his tail.

"What did you say?" Jae for some reason felt something wrong.

"We're sleeping together!" Yumi said.

Jae sigh as he want to change Yumi's choice of word but can't find any appropriate word.. So he ended up just agreeing to Yumi. "Y-yeah , well I guess that's true" Jae said and lay down at the sofa. "Wait.. What are you doing?" Jae asked as he saw Yumi grabs his pillow and went beside Jae, Yumi look confuse why Jae acting suspicious. "What do you mean what I am doing? We're sleeping together" Yumi meant that Jae and him will sleep beside each other.

THIS CRAZY BASTARD… Jae said in his mind but can't complain to Yumi since he is afraid to kick out from the house, So Jae let Yumi snuggle down with him on the sofa.
