1 Arriving at Kamino
In front of the Kaminoan Hangar 144 troops were standing at attention. They were divided into two square formations each with 8 lines and 9 men in each line. In total 144 men stood at attention, these men formed a company. They all had the white shiny armor whom any Star Wars fan would recognise as a Clone Trooper. In front of these rows stood another clone trooper, however what made this singular clone trooper stand out was how his armor had stripes of red along his arms and on his helmet. This was Clone Captain Dust also known as CT-8788.
However Dust was not an ordinary Captain. Dust was not even from this Universe entirely. He died during an armed robbery in another World known as Earth. After his death he was reincarnated into the Star Wars Universe. Upon being born as a clone trooper he was selected to join the specialised Officer training course. Each trooper graduating from this course would immediately be given the Officer Rank of Lieutenant. However Dust managed to graduate at the top of his class gaining the rank of Captain.
The current timeline was at the start of the Clone Wars the start of 22nd BBY. He just received his orders from Marshal Commander Colt. Colt was the commanding officer of all kaminoan forces. Captain Dust had received orders that Grand Master Yoda was currently on his way to Kamino. His orders were to meet up with Marshal Commander Ponds and General Windu. He was to join the first sector army. He was to join Commander Cody under the 212th Battalion. Alongside his Company there were 3 other Captains.
"Men, form up!" Dusk screamed. Upon his Command all his troops formed up in a marching formation. Dusk then did a strict 180 and looking at the 25 LAAT's. "Prepare! Forward! March!" Dusk screamed again. Immediately all troops began marching in a strict military formation. Upon arriving at the Acclamator he ordered his Lieutenants to take command of his troops and to lead them to their respective LAAT's and prepare for takeoff. Dusk then immediately went to a LAAT designed as a Command LAAT, which had a command map and communications within it. But it was just a normal LAAT.
Upon arriving Dusk saw Commander Cody being there. It seems he was the first of the Captains to arrive.
Dusk immediately reported his arrival. Doing a salute while stating "CT-8788, Captain Dusk, reporting for duty, Commander!"
"Ah, Captain Dusk, good to see you solider." Cody stated. Dusk immediately put his salute down and went to Cody's side.
"What is our orders, Commander?" Dusk asked. As well as waiting to be briefed on the situation.
"The Confederacy of Infependent systems and The Galactic Republic is at war as you may have realised. We clones have been assigned our first duty as the army of the Republic." Cody said while showing a map of Geonosis.
"We have been assigned an important task by Grand Master Yoda to extract Palawan Skywalker, Master Kenobi, Senator Amidala and the Jedi reinforcements. We are to take our forces to extract all the Jedi's."
"Hmm, where will my company be stationed? And what will my duty entail?" Dust asked.
"You and your company will join me and our battalion in extracting the Jedi. After this I will take the injured Jedi's and get them to safety then join Marshal Commander Gree in taking command of the sector army, meanwhile you will take Master Windu and the Jedi's to launch a flanking attack on the Geonosian Headquarters. Currently my Battalion does not have an executive officer. Usually a Major would be given this position but as we currently lack officers above the rank of Captain I will assign you as the XO during this battle." Cody said.
"Understood, Commander!" Dust said. After that the doors to the LAAT opened and another 3 Captains entered. Cody then briefed them on the same situation. And to Dust's shock Captain Rex was also with these Captains.
After being briefed Cody ordered the LAAT's to take off. The LAAT's then flew into a Venators in their airspace above Kamino.
After all the LAAT's arrived at the Venator Cody commanded the Captains to set their troops up and be ready for hyperspace in 3 Hours. Dusk then went to talk to his Lieutenants.
Dusk was in command of 1 Lieutenant and 3 Second Lieutenants each in charge of a platoon(36). The Lieutenant was named Tyr, while the three second lieutenants was named, Gonk, Cheek and Stenge respectively. Dusk also had 3 Sergeant-Majors and 6 Sergeants in charge of a squad(9) each.
He then ordered the Sergeants and Lieutenants to each set their own team up into their respective barracks and to come to him if any problems came up.
"Sir, yes, sir!" They all said at the same time. After saying that they scurried off to do their jobs. Dusk then went to the armoury. While on Kamino all troops were to use the same armor. Without any accessories. However they were allowed to train with their respective weapons. But now when he was added to the battlefield all Sergeants+ was allowed different types of weaponry. Sergeants and Sergeant Major were given access to macrobinoculars. Second Lieutenants and Lieutenants were given visors and a secondary weapon. While Captain and Major was given Kamas and Pauldrons and dual DC-17 holders. However a few of these were not handed out until after phase 2.
Dust then equipped himself with a DC-15A and two DC17 hand blasters. He also equipped himself with a visor, Kama(white with black outline) and duel pistol holders(white)
After getting his armor set up he went to talk with Lieutenants and they finished preparing their troops.
1 and a half hour later Dust arrived at the Command Centre. Upon arrival he saw that each of the Captains were there and Commander Cody. They were alle standing around the communications control and looking at the map of Geonosis.
"Greetings, Commander Cody, Captains." Dusk said upon arriving.
"Greetings, Captain Dust. We were just beginning the strategic discussions." Cody said.
"Rear Admiral, jump to hyperspace." Cody said.
"Yes, sir!" The naval officers said.
"The 2nd Sector Army led by MOTO Windu is still loading their troops while our 1st Sector Army led by Grand Master Yoda just jumped to hyperspace. Marshal Commander Ponds is currently commanding the 2nd System Army because Master Windu is about to land at Geonosis with his Jedi Forces." Cody said.
"We will deploy all our 147.456 thousand Clone Troopers to this battlefield. There would be a total of 20.895 thousand troops as Naval Officers and Enlisted, LAAT Drivers, AT-TE tank personnel and artillery." Cody said
"We will also deploy 126 561 thousand troops in waves of 48.000 each. With 2 waves and 1 small one at the end of the battle." Cody told them about the strategy which Yoda came up with.
"Our Forces will be the extracting force. We are expecting around a 1000 Geonosis a to fight the Jedi's when we arrive. We will take our 576 will jump in and out." Cody said
"The one in command will be-." Cody was about to say, however before he could finish a communication came through and in front of the 5 officers there stood a small green person. Immediately upon seeing this all five men out their hands up into the salute position alongside all personnel within the vicinity.
"Greetings, Grand Master Yoda!" Cody said.
"At ease, Commander" Yoda said.
After that everyone took their hands down and returned to their previous duties.
"Commander, I have new orders for you specifically" Yoda said
"One of the regiments within our army seems to have lost their Commander. Apparently there were an accident within the Hangar of their Acclamator. You are to immediately take the position of said Commander." Gree who stood beside Yoda said.
"What about my Battalion? Who will lead them and will we still do the extraction?" Cody asked.
"Your battalion will be temporarily transferred to Plo Koon upon arrival. You will also give one of your Captains command until Plo Koon arrives." Gree said.
"Very well, I will leave the command of my division to Captain Dust as he is the only one among my Captains who took the leadership extra course." Cody said. During the Officer Course you had the choice to take the "Leadership Course" where you were taught how to command and lead troops. In fact none of the other Captains within this battalion and few in total took it as it was seen as a waste as the Commander was given this task and the course was the hardest one a person could take.
"Very well, Dust will be the temporary Commander of the 212th Battalion, congratulations Captain Dust." Yoda said.
"Thank you, Grand Master Yoda. It is an honor." Dust said.
"Great, we will be arriving at Geonosis soon, prepare your battalion Captain, and Commander Cody, go and greet your new Regiment." Gree said.
With that the holonet went out.
"Alright, let's discuss our deployment"
Dust said.
"We have around 60 LAAT's in our hangar. 12 LAAT/i's and 30 AT-TE's. Alongside that we have 50 ARC-170 Starfighters and 70 V-19 Torrent Starfighters. All the V-19 Starfighters will be deployed to protect the venator and to fight in space. 35 ARC-170 Starfighters will also be deployed outside our command. That means we have 15 ARC-170's to protect us. Which should be sufficient enough. We also have 12 Y-wing bombers at hand." One of the Captains said.
"Hmmm, Rear Admiral, could you give us your input on this?" Dust said.
"Hmm, while we could spare the fighters and bombers for your operation at the start. We will quickly have to retreat as the ground troops are gonna have the main force of the Seperatist upon them quick quickly. We also need the bombers for the core ships. Similarly the fighters will be exposed to the B2 droid cannons and they will cause more damage to the bombers than necessary. We also do not need to deploy more than 40 LAAT's as we only have close to 600 troops and each LAAT can take 30 people. " The Rear Admiral said.
"Hmmm, so this is what I suggest we will have the Y-wings form up in front of the LAAT's. We will then have 10 ARC-170's form a formation around the Y-wings to defend them. This will direct enemy fire upon these people and they have an easier time defending than the LAAT's. We will also have 5 ARC-170's defend the rear and the LAAT's. These 5 will continue to protect the LAAT's until we land safely back at friendly base. The Y-wings will bomb around the Jedi's. So the outer perimeter of the arena where the droids would come from." Dust said
This would eliminate quite a few of the enemy Geonosians while not include the Jedi's in the crossfire. The ARC's would then spread out and attack all enemy fighters but then retreat to continue helping the bombers bomb the main battlefield. The 5 ARC's from the LAAT escort would then continue what the other 10 started and make sure the enemy fighters won't pursue the bombers. While the ARC's engage the fighters, 25 LAAT's would deploy around the arena. 5 in a circle in the middle to pick up the Jedi knights. 15 would also form an outer circle to draw fire from the 5 transports. This would give us more time to pick up injured Jedi's. Then the 15 others would enforce air support and bombard enemy forces on the ground while also sending missiles at fighters in the air." Dust said.
"When the LAAT's that landed have taken off the 15 will stay a few more seconds to divide enemy fire and then retreat with the support of the ARC-170. We will then retreat to the forward command centre for further orders, any questions?" Dust asked.
"None, sir." Each of the Captains said.
