1. The begin of the legend.

The village of Oros, a trading village with stunning views of the sea and the mountains. We can say that this land is blessed by the gods in every way. The weather is peaceful with four seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter. Each season is the opportunity for the villagers to cultivate different types of crops along with gathering valuable medicine ingredients for the doctors to perform their duties. Here and there, we can see adults working with a bright smile on their faces while children play around without worrying what they are going to eat tonight.

The marketplace is located in the center of the village. We can see a variety of traders from the surrounding regions come all the way here to haggle with the locals hoping to buy fishes or grains with a cheap price. Last summer, this village had a wonderful harvest and now it has become one of the main villages that can supply food for the kingdom of Kharak, where many regions are now having no food to consume due to the terrible crops disease that Gods send to ravage this land. Luckily, the crops in the Oros village seem not to be affected.

In the harbour, fishers come ashore full of fishes inside their tanks. The skins of the fishes shine under the sunlight, which gives us a vision of thousands of mirrors being stored on those ships, not the fishes. In this early morning, human and nature have joined hands together to create a beautiful harmony that makes a colorful and peaceful work of art.

Several guards are walking around, maintaining the order of this village. Their equipment looks old; how can they not? The village has not been a target for any bandits, looters or any kinds of intruders in the past 10 years so the officers kinda forget to invest their money in repairing the weapons. The captain of the guards is not happy with this and has asked the village chief to be provided with a fund to change the spearheads of the soldiers' spears; he doubts that with these rusty spears, he can protect the villagers. However, the village chief is likely to spend his time counting the coins gained from taxes rather than listening to the old captain. In the end, there is nothing changed aside from the captain being shouted at .

Guarding the harbor area is a 45 years old man, who is the captain. He has fought to protect his country for two times as a frontline soldier. To reward his service, the King has given him the position of the guard captain in this prosperous village; but obviously, as a man who just wants to retire and have a peaceful day until his last, being the captain is rather a burden than a reward. But who is he to complain? Denying an offer from the crown can be counted as an insult and going to jail for several years can be seen as a mercy for crimes like this.

While Lewis is still drowning himself in the dream he had last night, suddenly, there is a loud scream that can be heard from the harbour location. Signaling one of his comrades, he rushes toward the direction where the sound comes from, finding out that a large crowd is gathering around a ship which has just boarded ashore.

-"WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE?" Lewis shouts. He moves deep inside the crowd and tries to investigate the situation. The people walk aside, giving passage for the old guard to pass. In the way, Lewis can see the terror in the eyes of the people that he meets, which worry him. Some women can't even stand on their own, they faint, cry or pray to any gods that they worship.

When Lewis reaches the shore, his body nearly collapses from shock. A medium ship that has enough space for dozens of people can be seen, there is no sign of it being damaged or wrecked by the forces of nature. However, the problem is not on the ship, but the people sailing it.

Blood can be seen all over the places, corpses of men, women and children are nailed to the pillars as well as walls. Their heads are tied together and hang on the prow; insects as well as crows have feast over these poor people already, causing a scene that even the toughest man could vomit and lose the control of his body already.

Close his eyes and take a deep breathe, Lewis asks the people surrounding:

-Is there any survivors left?

A man who has the appearance of a merchant answers him:

-No, sir. The ship is delivered by waves of Mother Katrina ( God of the Sea and Trade) here, until now there is no trace of survivors, there may be inside but no one has the courage to get himself inside there.

Nod, Lewis turns to the guard that has been following him. The guard looks young and everyone can notice that his legs are trembling and large drops of sweat can be seen on his face. Lewis sighs, a new recruit can't help him in finding what happened to those people. He commanded:

-Alba, run to the barracks and ask Vice Commander Martin to bring 20 men here to settle the situation. Afterward, ask the village chief for his present here; if that fat idiot refuses to come, punch him in the face and drag him here.

-Yes…Yes, as you command, sire.

Alba leaves the place to fulfill his mission immediately. To a young man who enrolled in the army just for the reason that he has nothing else to do to earn a living in his life, this situation is beyond his capability to endure. Lewis sniffs seeing the man running as if a host is chasing him.

-Haizz, why am I stuck in this place with the people who have never felt anything about the harshness of life?

Speaking like that but Lewis still draws his sword and walks toward the ship. The feeling of being cautious and nervous like the old days in war when he and his comrades investigated an abandoned fort or enemy camps unsurprisingly made Lewis smile a little.

The dense scent of blood can be smelled on the ship, using a hand to cover his mouth, Lewis moves deeper. He checks every room that he passes by and reveals every location that a person can hide, hoping to find any lucky survivors. But every time he opens a closet or under a bed, his hope grows less and less. At the bottom room of the ship where the sailors often hide their most precious things, he finds a corpse of a woman who is clearly abused violently before being killed. The door of the room is destroyed so the woman may try to hide from whoever is responsible for this.

Clenching his fist, Lewis looks around the room, and notices a sigil drawn by blood on the walls. A eagle with four wings- the sigil of the worst pirate that a person can encounter, Jorah the Immortal.

-This is not good.

Lewis knows about this sigil and what it stands for, he quickly uses his swords to slash continuously to the wall to destroy the sigil. There is a rumor about this pirate that he can use magic and if a settlement receives anything with this sigil, their location will be known by Jorah and they'll be destroyed afterward. Lewis hasn't encountered any mage in his life but he knows that there is magic, so he follows his instinct immediately to do what he thinks is best for the safety of the people he wants to protect.

After making sure that the wall is destroyed, Lewis gets out of the ship and see that one of his trusted men, Martin the One-Eyed and a group of guards have taken control over the place, forcing the civilians to move away and a fat man who has an appearance of a weakling that just pee on himself. Not caring for the village chief, Lewis nods with Martin and signals him to talk with him in private.

"-Do you find anything useful inside? Captain, it makes me sick seeing these people killed terribly, maybe we can find out who is responsible and have a word with the Lord to hunt him down." Martin says with anger in his voice, there are people who he knows and respects on the ship, all he wants to do now is fight and kill the culprit.

"- It's true that we need to speak to the Lord; however, he is 100 miles away from here and thanks to the mountains, it'll take a day for him to know anything about what's happening here." Lewis speaks before whispering to Martin:" I found the sigil of Jorah the Immortal in the ship, he might be the one that's responsible for this, and if the rumor is true, he'll be coming for us soon.

Fear appears on the veteran's face when he hears his captain speak of a name that shouldn't be spoken of. However, as a man with a decent mental health, Martin the One-Eyed gains back his consciousness and speak:

-We need a village meeting immediately.

—————-

While the adults and influential people are rushing toward the meeting hall to discuss the threat that can happen to this peaceful village, in the outskirts of the village, we see a group of children playing around a treehouse with a pond beside it. Most of them are boys with ages ranging from 10 to 16, every person wears a simple homemade leather armor and wields different types of weapons. Seeing these children practice fighting with each other, many people would say it's just child's play; however, an experienced soldier will notice that their movements and strikes are not really that of amateurs. Clearly, these children really want to make a name for themselves through fighting in the future.

Different from boys, the girls are cooking meals or practicing medicine. There are different types of herbs that can be gathered in the area surrounding; under the command of a sister look-like girl, others focus on making the potions that can help the boys treat their wounds when the training is over. About 5 girls are practicing archery instead; although their skills are still not very good overall, compared to their ages we can note that they can be skillful archers in the future.

Separated from all other children, there is a 14 year-old boy lying lazily beside the pond, looking at the blue sky watching clouds floating over and over. You may mistake him as a useless person if not for the number of books around him. We can see notes on every page which mean this guy will be a scholar if not a book worm and we only capture him in the moment he spends some time relaxing from learning. Blue eyes with dark hair and a skinny body, there is nothing that can distinguish this boy from others aside from the respect looks that other childs give when they pass by.

A loud noise disturb the regular basis training of the children when a child rushing from the village direction shouting:

-ARTHUR!ARTHUR! WE HAD A PROBLEM!

A boy running toward the treehouse location while blowing dust on the way he runs, which clarifies that he is in the rush and has some important information to share with the boy named Arthur. Several boys stop the boy from running and talk to him.

-Quiet, Ash, Arthur is resting.

"-But I have to have a word with him, it's urgent" Ash says.

"-Let him pass." The kids hear Arthur' voice. He has risen up from his lazy state and now stands firmly at his previous location with a serious look on his face. Speaking of Arthur, he is the leader of the orphans who call themselves the Eagle Brotherhood. All of the children living here are survivors from the wars where their parents were killed or gone missing. Many of them witness the deaths of their parents with their own eyes; this hardens their hearts and makes them grow mentally stronger compared to others.

Saved by the kingdom's soldiers, they are sent to this village to live and be educated with a sufficient amount of money given each month. However, the money seems to never reach them, these kids are bullied by the children of the villagers and the villagers turn a blind eye to them. Everything changed when the child Arthur came along. He taught the orphans how to survive utilizing the gifts from the Mother of Nature, he led the children to build the tree house, cultivate crops and build fences as well as trenches in the area near this mountain where no one can lay claim to.

And to protect themselves from any types of possible threat, Arthur taught them how to fight and military knowledge, how they can support each other in the middle of a battle, the formations as well as different roles in combat. In a short period of time, the orphans have been united under this boy Arthur.

Arthur only knows his mother, but she was killed by bandits when they attacked the caravan carrying Arthur along with his mother when traveling. Something awakened in him that day, a tattoo of an ax and sword crossed each other can be seen on his neck. The moment he saw his mother killed, his vision went blurry and he lost his consciousness; the moment he woke up, he saw the bandits that killed everyone on the caravan were lying dead on the ground. The only one alive was a man with a deep wound on his chest, who looked at Arthur with terrified eyes before spilling out:" monster" and died.

Carrying all books and weapons or any necessary items he could find, Arthur reached this village and began his life with his new friends. Now, Arthur are lending a cup of water to the child named Ash:

-Have a deep breath, Ash. Drink it and tell me what happened.

Drinking the cup of water handed by Arthur, Ash slows his breathing speed while trying to recover his stamina. Then, he speaks:

-Commander, I see the ships full of corpses on the shore. The adults have gathered a meeting debating how they should react to the problem. As I hear captain Lewis and One-eyed Martin talking, the ship crews were murdered by a pirate named Jorah the Immortal.

Several noises appear among the children and teenagers when they asking each other about who Jorah the Immortal is as well as the shocking news of a whole ship crews being murdered. Some children that have heard about the pirate start to tell others about how fearsome it is about this man and the rumors about the Red Skull- the warship that was commanded by Jorah and how he destroyed the navy of Jorvik Kingdom with it. The dread of this pirate has struck fear into some of the children's hearts.

Raising his hand to the air, Arthur's action makes the children quiet.

"-There is nothing to fear about"Arthur says, which calms down the children and somewhat expresses his leadership skill. Arthur starts to consider the situation; every time when a problem passes by, he always manages to handle it to the best of his ability. And now, the safety of his comrades is endangered by a pirate, he has to choose between run and stay.

Running is easy, but if they run they can't reach a settlement before nightfall, wild animals can attack them when they are exhausted, or even worse creatures such as goblins or orcs who wander around the forest may appear and bring them the same terror as a pirate can do.

Staying is another problem, although they built this camp outside of the village, the pirates can still see it from the sea, which means they will face an assault from more experienced, equipped and well-trained warriors. Meanwhile, Arthur still doesn't know whether the information provided by Ash is true or not, there could be no pirates at all. Staying in the camp helps them to avoid any great danger they can encounter escaping in the forest. Thus, the priority is verifying the information, Arthur does not want to become a coward from blindly trusting everything that others provide.

After a while, he finally makes his decision. He raises his voice:

-Ash, come back to the village with Gibby and Knut to observe the reaction of the villagers. Christina, you're in charge of the girls, make arrows and bolts according to what I told you last time. All boys make simple shields and spears from wood as well as bring the rocks onto the walls. Then, poison the arrowheads and spearheads, I want to have any bows and crossbows fireable on the camp walls.

People start running around under Arthur's command, they've built simple wooden walls surrounding a small area of their living area to prepare for a situation like this. The villagers won't help even if they are attacked so they'll have to be ready themselves. 46 people with ages from 10 to 16, they won't survive against a gang of bandits, not to mention a ship of pirates.

Arthur is well aware of this, but he also knows that if the villagers are alarmed like they are, there will be men sent to the Lord Guardian of the region and if everything goes smoothly, there will be reinforcements by midnight. Oros is like a jewelry of the region, the taxes they pay are far superior than the other so Arthur thinks Lord Nightgaff will rush to their aid with the infamous Black Knights from the Black Legion, one of the three legions that keep the Kharak Kingdom from being destroyed by its' foes.

Picking up an axe lying on a fallen tree, Arthur swings it, the hard blade of the ax crush into a tree. A crack appears on the tree and after several seconds, it collapses onto the ground. The sigil on Arthur's neck burns hot and he feels excited about the potential incoming battle. He licks his lips, and we can see a little of craziness on his eyes.
