We've been walking in the dark forest for the past six days and finally we see a path
"Zulia over here!,I found a pathway" I shouted
"Finally we are out of here" Zamora smiles
We walked out of the forest strolling down towards the main gates of the Empire
"I doubt the guards will let us in"
"Don't worry, just let me do the talking" Zulia says
We reached the front gates
"State your business here" A guard yells
"We are looking for a place to stay?" Zulia says
"Ohh foreigners?,from where?" He asked
"From the kingdom of Neodessa,our kingdom was overthrowned,so we seek for a new home" Zulia tries to convince them
"Okay, let's search them" He tells the other guards
The search was quicker than I thought but more thorough than I expected
He signals us to enter,we entered the gates
I've never seen a kingdom more beautiful than this i was facinated by the inside walls of the Empire,the roads were paved with design of the Empire crest in each pavement,
It's a very bright and loud kingdom,shops opened and everyone seems delighted
"What a happy—"
"Ouch!!!" I bumped into someone
"I'm sorry my lady" he bows as he gives me an apple
"That's a peace offering for bumping into you" he walks away quickly
I stared as he walked away until I saw him no more
"...Ina ...Flina!" Zulia calls my name snapping me back to reality
"Huh?" I was astounded by his beauty and the kindness he showed
"Flina,what are you waiting for?"She taps me
We continued walking
"Where did you get that apple from?" She notices the apple in my hand
"From a guy, a handsome guy" I smiled
"Really,now you have a crush, we literally just got here" She frowns slightly
"No,I don't have a crush,I was just bewildered by the beauty"
"Beauty of what?, the boy" she glares
"Ehm... not the boy, the Empire" I scoffed she gives me a stern glare
"Me?..a boy? Crush? never..." I tried to avoid her piercing gaze.
If it was Zamora it would have been really easy to lie but Zulia knows me too well.
"I've found a place we can trade out stuff for coins" Zamora walks towards us
"We can trade my necklace,its very old and holds no meaning"
Zamora leads the way to the trader's shop,I took off my necklace and gave the weird looking hairy man.
He stares at the necklace as he scratches his beards
"This doesn't seem like a regular necklace,perhaps are you high rank nobles?" he asks
"No,we are just foreigners" Zamora says
"But this is a very rare gem on this necklace I must—"
"We are not from your kingdom we just want to trade this necklace for money,we need a place to stay urgently" Zulia says in a firm voice scaring the trader
"I see here, well I'll take the necklace for 50gold coins and 10silver pieces"
Zulia glares at him
"Haha, I meant to say 300 gold coins and 50 silver pieces" he clears his throat
"Very well then,we'll take that" Zulia smiles at him
"How did she notice he was about to scam us" I whispered in Zamora's ears
"I have no idea how she knew" she whispers back
"You said you need a place to stay,since you claim to be commoners you'll only be given the right to rent a house but can't own or buy one and you need to pay taxes for that house" He says
"Commoners can't own houses?" Zamora asked with a concerned look
"Well yes,that's the law of the Empire states only nobles can purchase a building and high ranks can own a land and even buy a building,
This Empire is ranked in nobility, well foreigners like you don't know a thing,just be careful"
"What kind of shitty—?"
"Okay we'll like to see the available houses for rent" Zulia says with a bright smiley face
"This isn't Neodessa Zamora, you can't just say anything you want,you're not a Princess here but a commoner" Zulia warns Zamora in a thin voice
"Zamir!!!, Zamirr!!!,Where did that boy go?" He continues to yell, A boy hurries over to our side
"Where did you run off to?" He yells more
"I went to feed the cattles" the boy answers
He looks so tattered and filthy
"These are new customers,show them the houses up for rent"
"Yes sir" He bows
