Chapter 6

I got out of the car and checked that I had my phone and keys. I was heading back to my home.I closed the door behind me and looked at the house. What had happened there was not up to me. When I arrived at the front door, I turned around for the last evening and I looked at the house.

It was still early and, although I didn't feel very well, I was a little disappointed not to have gone to the beach. Maybe I could go there tomorrow in broad daylight.

When I reached home,I took off my shoes, my jacket and put it on the sofa. My grandmother was sitting on the kitchen cabinet with her book. There was music in the background.

"I thought you were out for the night?"She asked, putting down her book.

"Me too!"I shrugged my shoulders. When I opened the fridge, my eyes fell on the strawberries.

I took them out and sat in front of her. "I feel weird". I couldn't explain it, maybe I was homesick.

"You feel weird? Maybe it's because you are homesick of being in another city."

She asked me

" Are you homesick?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe I'm just having mood swings or something."I grab a few strawberries and put the tray back in the refrigerator. "Today has been an upsetting day. Don't be mistaken, the people I had met were quite nice, but I always feel like something was wrong."

"You will feel better when you have taken your marks. New bed tomorrow, entrepreneurs the day after tomorrow and first day of school on Monday. As soon as you have taken your marks, everything else will be put in place."

I didn't really want to go to school, but I had Alanna, so it was an advantage.

When I picked up the phone, I realized that I had a new message.

"Where did you go? Come back here. We are in the back, the fire is on lol it's not the beach, but at least there is a bathroom.

Don't hesitate to come :)"

I looked at the message and frowned.

My grandmother asked me why I was frowning while looking at me over her shoulder.

"You should go, it's still early and it's at the end of the street."

"I don't know."

"Maddy, it's time to make friends.Put your jacket back on and go there. You shouldn't be sitting here with me. Anyway, I'm going to bed soon, so go ahead." She didn't leave me much room to argue.

"Okay, but I won't be long." I gave her a kiss on the cheek, took my jacket and keys and went down to the street.

These houses were huge, with a lot of space between them.It was noisy.

Everyone seems to be in a good mood. There were many more people than before. As I entered, my eyes landed on Jake. He was sitting with a group of people, all suspended from his slightest words. Not to mention the coffee girl, who stuck to his skin like a bad smell.

"You're back." I turned around and they hugged me. "You are so beautiful."

"Maddy, well I think I drank a little too much.Seriously, you are so sexy. Oh my God,look at her hanging on my brother. You could think she understands the least thing he says." She took my hand and brought me into their home.

"Feel free to drink anything, I want to pee." And she left .

I took off my jacket and moaned realizing that I had forgotten to change my dress.

"Wow, you are a show for these eyes!" He whistled. I froze.

" I beg your pardon?"

"You're really sexy, aren't you?"

I couldn't help laughing.Did he think it would work?

" It was pathetic, wasn't it?" He smiled. "I am Damon."

"Maddy." I opened the fridge and had a beer. "You always talk to girls like that, and it really leads you somewhere?"

"Ouch!" He smiles. "It didn't do you any good, did it?"

"I'm afraid not." I shrugged my shoulders and went back outside.

He continued.

"What do you think?"

When we sat down, I noticed that we were receiving a lot of attention. Everyone seemed interested in what we were doing.

Ignoring this, I drank a new sip of my beer.

"It's my second day here."

"And you have already been invited to one of Jake Mackenzie's parties."Whistling under my breath, I frowned.

"What does it mean?"

"He is very important in this city."

"He's an asshole." I smiled, causing his laughter.

"I like your way of thinking, Maddy." By tapping his bottle against mine, we remained silent.

"So, aren't you his biggest fan?" I asked.

" I wouldn't say that. I went out with his sister." He whispers. "But we are good, we ended things in a good way and it was a mutual decision, but I always feel like he hates me."

"Given the way he looks at you, I think you're right. He hasn't left our eyes since we sat down."

"And it's my queue for the night. I hope we'll see each other again."

Once again, I stayed alone.

"Is this place occupied?"

"It depends, are you going to stare at me all the time you're sitting there?" Looking up, I met his eyes. Eyes of a deep brown stared at me. It was as if he could see through me.

"I think we started on the wrong foot, little girl."When he sat down, my heart got excited and my palms began to sweat. The attraction I felt for this man was not fair, but it seemed fair to me. I wanted to be close to him. I wanted to know him.

"My name is Maddy." I smiled and reached out my hand.

"Jake."Putting his hand in mine was like something I had never felt before

"How are you enjoying your evening?"he said, holding my last finger.

"Definitely fine." I looked at him and I felt so wet under there.I didn't even know him but the physical attraction we had was unbearable.I was already feeling heat.

I think he felt the same because why does he always stare at me that way?The coffee girl began to look at me weirdly.I knew she wished she was in my place but who cared? He was with me and was enjoying my company."
