44 Chapter 44 - A Fenrir's Egg?

A/N: Aren't Fenrir's fucking awesome? E/N is editors note btw

E/N: No, they're fucking overused.

A/N: I'm sorry but I like the sound of an Anti-Divine Doggo

I woke up at around 7am, I was completely calm. My body felt much more in sync with my mind than before, I felt far more comfortable in my body. I flexed each and every one of my muscles individually before relaxing. I took a few deep breaths, and then splashed some water onto my face.

I smiled, I remembered that guy, Astraeus. He was way too strong to be human. He was closer to being some sort of... Demi-God rather than a human. No matter how much I thought about it, his potential was wasted. He could've been far more powerful than anyone else, he was effectively immortal. His regenerative factor was terrifying, he was also nigh invulnerable. Of course, that didn't matter if you were on the receiving end of my Corruption Attribute which made things like defence irrelevant.

I looked at my body, my muscles were rippling with strength and vitality, they were stronger than last night. It was probably the Elixir's final effect. With this, my body was finally at a level I could use in proper combat.

"Soon, I'll acquire that Artifact-"

As I was speaking, a searing pain suddenly formed at the right side of my chest, I collapsed onto the ground and clutched my chest. I then felt an egg shaped 'thing' form, as my breathing became ragged, information slowly invaded my mind. For an instant, an odd presence formed at the location of the egg like shape. However it then dissapeared immediately, leaving no trace of anything being there.

"A Fenrir's egg... so that's how I've been able to use my spacial mapping."

My spacial mapping ability, it was bull shit. I made up some sort of semi reasonable explanation, however I now understood how it worked. The Fenrir, it was a divine beast on a level completely different to the vast majority of divine beasts. It possessed authority over space.

In the Novel, there was only a single Fenrir, and that Fenrir was the last of it's kind. It was a reasonably powerful villain. It's goal was to hunt down every single bearer of blood from a divine beast's like Dragon's, Angels, and whatnot.

The reason it's in a class of it's own is because of it's nature, as the beast destined to devour the sun itself, it is completely resistant to any heat based attacks. It also possessed absolute control over space, teleportation, and localised omniscience were all possible for it. (E/N: Wow, it's the first time an author that uses Fenrir actually researched its origins, fina-fucking-ly. I might be able to get over my hatred of Fenrir novels now.)

However what it truly shined in was hunting anything of divine origin. Those bearing runes of bloodlines of Gods, Demi-Gods, Divine Beasts would never be able to overcome the Fenrir's might. Divine power is hardly able to even scathe it.

The Fenrir in the story was fairly young, it probably wasn't any older than 6. It had a master, although the master died in around half a chapter.

The Fenrir was able to choose it's master before birth, and it binds to them and has a symbiotic relationship with them. It consumes nutritients from the masters body and provides benefits in return, for me the benefit was the ability to see via spacial mapping. As the Fenrir grew stronger the abilities the master gained also became more powerful.

Recently, I've been able to occasionally perceive colour. It's probably because the Fenrir is maturing, and, as a result, growing more powerful.

Now, you might be wondering why I'm so sure this Fenrir is the same as the one in the Novel. Well, that's because Divine Beasts are all extinct, this Fenrir is the last superior Divine Beast in existence. Of course, there are lesser Divine Beasts, lesser dragon's, lesser phoenixes, etc. Usually we just call them Dragons or Angels or whatever because there's no point in saying lesser or superior if only the lesser kind exist.

Anyways, the lesser Divine Beasts are obviously weaker than superior ones. A bearer of the blood of a superior Divine Beast will almost. never loose to a lesser beast assuming the bloodline bearer has reached their full potential.

Lesser Divine Beasts can indeed evolve into superior Divine Beasts, however it has only happened once in the novel. I don't really remember how or who it happened to.

Anyways, I've basically just acquired an Anti-Divine weapon. Of course, the Fenrir won't just listen to me, apparently the previous master was able to control it with affection. So I'll probably have to do some acting.

Anyways, all of the knowledge here is a mixture of the information given to me by the Fenrir and the novel.

Runes.

Talking about them had reminded me that I may not end up receiving one. The original Valier didn't get one. Both his sister's received one, so that's part of how he developed an inferiority complex. Runes are related to the soul, so I may end up receiving one. But the unlock conditions are unknown.

But, with the Fenrir, I'm not sure if I'll even need a Rune. Who the fuck needs a Rune when you have the egg of the 'The God Slaying Wolf' in your body?

Some Rune bearers who have a Rune of Divine Origin have some sort of divine immortality, it often has its drawbacks and limitations but the Fenrir can completely negate immortality and regeneration.

It's defensive capabilities are also fairly amazing, and it even has absolute immunity to flames of all kinds, even the Demonic ones. Meaning, I can send it forward and blast as many flames as I want without worrying about accidentally killing it.

The last bit of information I received from the egg was that it needed two or so more months to hatch. Meaning it lined up perfectly with my plans. I planned to steal an Artifact. It was an Artifact that most couldn't actually control. After all, the number of souls within the Artifact was practically innumerable.

The Artifact was in the treasury of Britannia, it was stolen by some random soldier when the capital was stormed by Tenebris.

"I can't wait to get my hands on it."
