Chapter 8

As blood gushed out of her, I yelled

"SOMEONE, ANYONE, HELP!!!"

Although I said that, this situation wasn't completely bad. This was a fairly decent way to help us reconcile as it would give me the perfect opportunity to talk to her. And we'd probably be able to reconcile and she'd probably listen to me more than she would have previously.

I forced myself to cry, and kept yelling, I had to make this display believable after all.

I pressed my hands on to her wound to slow the bleeding, I knew that she wouldn't die. People could awaken as mages during times of crisis, or when they were near death. This was probably the time when she would awaken as a mage, and if she did she would heal from this wound perfectly find due to her life force based bloodline ability. When a mage awakened like this, they would form a Mana core as an instinct to survive, and since they could form a Mana core, they were naturally able to sense an utilise Mana like natural awakeners. There were people who exposed themselves to situations like these to force and awakening

Generating life force naturally meant her wounds healed faster.

Soon several maids came in and some butlers rushed in prepared with several magic items. And even a doctor came, it seemed that they were prepared to help with whatever I needed. Some of them were hesitant when they saw the pool of blood but the doctor rushed in, he was a middle aged man with black hair and dark eyes.

He started assessing her condition and started treating her, he removed the knife and used healing magic on her. A golden light enveloped his hand, the wound in her body started healing. Once the treatment was finished, the doctor wiped off a bead of sweat and sighed.

"Her wound wasn't too deep, she'll be bedridden for at least a day or tw-"

Just before he finished finished speaking, Mana started to conglomerate within her heart. She was forming a Mana core. I stepped back out of shock, and smiled to myself.

'As expected of a main heroine, or should I say my new pawn.'

"Get my older sister into her bed and prepare a meal for her."

The maids moved, realising what the weight of my words truly meant. If they tried to treat her like they did before, they'd lose their job and possibly their life, that was because I had said that she was my older sister. This meant that I, the future Archduke, had accepted her as a member of my family. If they treated her like they did before, they'd be undermining my authority.

Of course they only treated her like this because she tried to kill me, and that's why I didn't mention anything about punishment for their earlier acts of neglection.

After the maids got Lillian into bed, I went to bed as well. The maids did the usual routine of cleaning my body and changing me into my nightwear.

The next day, I immediately visited Lilian and I ran to her room. I made sure to do it as soon as I woke up, this made it look like she was the first thing on my mind. This would make my act as her loving younger brother more believable.

Of course I wasn't a loving younger brother at all, I couldn't remember the last time I loved someone.

I couldn't even emember if 'I' had ever been loved by another person. And even if I did, I don't think I'd understand it.

But that's not important, right now I was going to reap my rewards.

I opened the door without knocking to make it seem that I was desperate. There I sae Lillian dressed in nightwear and resting on her bed. I decided to slowly walk up to her bed and gently sat myself beside her.

I smiled a little, I smiled back.

"I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry."

Tears were streaming down her eyes, and she was shaking. I looked at her, trying to seem understating, I hugged her and tried to pat her back but it was rather difficult since I was rather tiny.

"It's okay, I don't need to know why you did it. But let's get along together big sis? O-or do you not want to?"

Honestly I did want to know why she did it but this would make her think that I'd accept her unconditionally. And even if it didn't, it meant that she should be more willing to confide in me when she needs to, and that would just make it easier to control her.

She finally decided to hug me back, she wiped her tears.

"I'll never hurt you again, I promise. From now on, your big sister won't let anything happen to you."

'But weren't you the one who?- Ugh, it doesn't matter, I suppose I've got a rather powerful pawn on my side now.'

I looked at the navy blue haired girl infront of me, she had awakened her bloodline ability already. She was truly a being capable of becoming as powerful as Angelica. I would feel envy if I was any other person, but with me being me I was rather indifferent of her talent.

And I would soon be able to guarantee my bloodline awakenings, and I'd also obtain someone who would act as my shadow.

'The Potion Of Renewal' it would allow me to grow as strong as anyone else. And it'd guarantee the awakenings of both the Rosenblade and Avalon bloodlines.

The Rosenblade ability would come in handy for me, especially since there was not a weapon in existence that I had not mastered. Every Rosenblade who awakened their bloodline could do the same thing, create weapons and manipulate them however they wished. The only thing that varied was the appearance and colour of the weapons, so although it was theorised that the weapons came from another plane of existence.

It was also theorised that the soul had some sort of effect on it, although it didn't matter as ultimately their abilities all did the same thing.

The Dragon's bloodline was something I didn't really know much about, because the Avalon Archduchy would fall to ruin and the Archduke would die. And on top of that, Reinhardt never awakened his bloodline so I wouldn't be able to know how it would awaken for him, as in some cases people could simply improve their power many times over by using their ability. While other people could temporarily summon a dragon from the ancient era.

Although I could ask the Archduke, it wouldn't be of use if my ability was different. And it'd be hard to get a hold of him anyways, so it'd be best to just leave researching the Dragon's bloodline another time.

I looked at the fair arms that were wrapped around me, Lillian had still not let go of me. She did know that she wouldn't be my older sister forever right? She was the daughter of the Earl Of Flamesworth who had lost his life in a battle. My father knew him, and decided to take her in as her mother had passed away as well.

No one knew of the Flamesworth family's ability because they hadn't had an awakener for centuries. Even the Earl wasn't aware of it, as of now only I knew. The doctor was too tired to notice the life force that seeped out of her at the time. That was for the better, I'd have removed him if he knew of her power.

Lillian would return as the lady of the Flamesworth house after she was of age.

A butler came into the room after knocking and saying it was urgent.

"Young master! The knights have returned with the chest!"
