The Ring of Sealing

"Where am I?" the boy was wondering after looking at the grand sect in front of him which was crowded with many fired up boys and innocent girls.

The sect had a tall and grand gate in front of him which seemed to touch the sky itself and was very well maintained without even the slightest dust or corruption. The gate had dragon engravings made out of the purest jade with purple coating which made many onlookers look at it with great anticipation and admiration.

"When do you think the demonstration is going to start?" said one stranger

"What demonstration? I thought a battle was about to start." said the confused boy.

"Tch, what are you a hermit?" said the stranger surprised. Who doesn't know about this gathering?

"The demonstration is just another word for a test of endurance. The three great sects gather every four years to the late Immortal Azure's sect with their best inner court disciples to climb the stairway of the azure immortal. It's said that if you reach the top of the azure immortal stairway, than you'll find a treasure which will grant you a boost into the immortal stage but no one has ever gotten to the top of the staircase and anyone above the age of 20 will die if they go inside the staircase so know one can really confirm it.."

"So the highest cultivation anyone has ever went to is the immortal stage?" asked the boy confused. Why was it so hard for the people in this realm to reach the immortal stage? To him, gathering and storing enough qi to become an immortal was like twitching his fingers. It would simply take less than a second.

"Actually, the Azure immortal only reached half-step immortal. But most of us like to think he reached the immortal stage and ascended to the immortal realm." said the stranger who was a bit embarrassed.

When the stranger looked towards the boy who asked him the question, the boy was gone.

"What was the point of explaining this to a hermit in the first place.." thought the stranger with regret.

"What a crappy realm... At least the woman here aren't to bad hehehe" said the boy with a perverted face.

After strolling around the crowd for a while, the boy asked around and learned a small piece of information about the realm making people think that he was a shut in who almost never went outside of his house.

The boy learned that he was currently on the Azure continent which was previously ruled by the Azure Sword Sect that disappeared thousands of years without cause nor reason after their sect master disappeared. It was especially strange since no sect or power at the time could of touched the sect let alone make it disappear even without the sect master.

Now the continent is ruled by three sects named; The White Dragon Sect, Blue Phoenix sect and the Nine Tailed Illusion Sect in order from strongest to weakest.

Realizing that the strongest person in this continent was only an emperor stage cultivator, the boy started to get frustrated. It wasn't that he couldn't just ascend to a higher realm, it was that it was the first place he ever went to after he descended, leaving an unknown attachment in his heart.

"Fine, fine whatever. I don't care that these people are so damn weak! If it comes to it, i'll just help someone cultivate to meet my minimum standards! Or..." after contemplating in his mind, the boy decided to take out a ring. This ring was the first creation the boy had ever made. He named it after the rings affect, "The Ring of Sealing". When the boy put the ring on, the clear skies started to cloud again, concentrating towards where the boy was. The ring started to crack into numerable pieces but didn't shatter, the previously light and happy atmosphere started to darken leaving people confused on why the atmosphere suddenly turned for the worse.

Out of nowhere, the boy who seemed to be just fine a minute ago suddenly collapsed. But before he collapsed the boy spoke in a very soft tone not heard by anyone "Crap.. I should've sealed my cultivation slowly..." Since the boys cultivation was so high breaking beyond any beings limits and capacity, suddenly having almost all of that cultivation taken away took a huge tole on his body causing him to faint from the shock.

"Haaaa... H-h-h-he s-s-seems t-to b-be o-okay! He's waking up! " said one girl who couldn't stop stuttering.

"Boy you better be happy that our disciple was gracious enough to take care of you when you fainted. Who faints just when some clouds gather around them?!" said an elder mockingly

But before the boy could reply to the elder, the girl asked "W-w-what's y-your n-name?"

Confused by what was happening, the boy who fainted said "M-my name? It's Guang Wu.. Why am I in a tent and who are you?"

"O-o-o-h y-you f-fainted a-and fell onto m-me while i got lost.. So i brought you here. I am Lin Mei" said the girl embarrassed.

"Oh I see.. How long have i been unconscious for?" said Guang Wu seemingly unaffected by the fact he fell onto such a beautiful and delicate girl.

"J-just for 1 hour. I g-gave y-you s-some m-medicine." said the girl

"Hmph! If you ask me, a simple 3rd stage origin realm cultivator doesn't even deserve to hear a single word from young miss! Come let us go he's already awoken so there's no need to take care of him anymore!" said the elder while dragging her young miss outside the tent.

Guang Wu who was wondering why the elder kept on rushing the girl asked "Why are you two in such a rush?"

"I- I am p-participating i-n the competition.." said the girl who was still shy about what happened before.

"Hmph! The young miss is ranked second in our Blue Phoenix sect's inner court! Of course she's busy! You should thank your previous lives for being granted a chance to talk with her!" said the elder while leaving with the girl.

"So they just gave me this tent?" said Guang Wu playfully. Guang Wu got up but almost instantly fell on to the ground on one knee and put his hand on his forehead "Shit, i'm still a bit dizzy."

The reason Guang Wu didn't seal his cultivation on his own without the ring was because it would take an immense amount of power to keep it sealed which he wouldn't have after sealing his cultivation.

Guang Wu got up slowly and this time leaned forward a bit and said

"The Blue Phoenix Sect and Lin Mei. How interesting.."

I made Guang Wu more conservative on his power, not just flaunting it around.

I've noticed how many of you said in the comments how you were fine on how the direction of this novel went as long as the story stayed the same but I really can't do that since Guang Wu is in a different and much weaker realm.. But of course, the novel will arrive in the heavenly realm at some point and reintroduce all the characters..
