Chapter 40: The Declaration
Chris POV:
The news did not surprise Chris. He knew to expect something on the horizon. He couldn't expect to deny such a figure his spoils without retribution. Chris expected a declaration, sooner or later. However, waking up to his mate laying next to him after the night he had, Len was the last thing on his mind.
"The Sweetwater pack has issued a new statement. They claim that we have wronged them. Len accused us of stealing from their pack and luring them into the territory under false pretenses. They say they aim to take over our territory," Xolo filled him in.
He became Chris' beta once he ascended the throne. Chris felt grateful to have his friend help lead, but that also meant that Xolo had to deliver news that he never wanted to hear. Asa promised that the Moon Goddess Ball would offer the pack redemption, but it seemed like they were in deeper trouble than before.
