Chapter 7: guns and supplies

"Find me a direction that will help me grow powerful?"

Chandu asked.

"South"

Chandu received his answer.

This is the direction of the town.

There are a few things he wanted in the town.

Since it was apocalypse, he was going to get some dresses, weapons and food.

Since he has a storage space he can hide many things.

Even though he was an orphan he knows which food should be stored and which should be consumed.

Also he was going to kill as many undead as he can to collect their monster cores.

Chandu had a feeling that these monster cores will help him level up.

He was also sure that after he leveled up his skill range would improve which indicates that he leveled up.

Orphanage is only a kilometer out of the town and there are houses here and there.

But most of them are already collapsed or half collapsed.

Chandu went to every house on sight and checked the area using the finder skill.

This time he posed a question continuously over the rubble, then proceeded with killing the undead and getting their monster cores one by one.

He also saw that some people were resting outside the house with tears all over their face as their family members died in the house.

Chandu did not go near them to help them or console them.

He simply left that place with people living.

Also Chandu don't know if there are other ability users.

He has to do the job in discreet so that others would not find the monster cores.

Well it will not be a secret for long but Chandu has to make sure that he has the upper hand.

So he continued to move towards the town with rests from time to time.

There are cars on the road that were stopped because of the broken road.

Some cars were busted because of the sudden earthquake and road blocks.

Chandu saw some undead that are still in the car struggling to come out but stuck because of the seat belts.

Chandu killed them all and made his way to the police station of the town.

Unlike other people that feared the undead Chandu was not that fearful as he has already overcame this fear when Priya was dead right before his eyes and became an undead.

Chandu found that the map did not just record the surroundings but all of the found places like sign boards and even cars on the way.

If there is even a slightest change Chandu can recognize it when he go back in that direction.

The police station is already in a pile of rubble.

Honestly most of the buildings are already fallen and it looked like a dismantled city of rubble of building materials.

There are half broken buildings here and there all over the city.

Some turned into undead but were buried under the rubble.

The lucky ones that died outside are roaming on the streets lifelessly searching for living people.

Just after the apocalypse started the world population were reduced to just 1 percent of the previous 10 billion population.

Now because of the undead the remaining 1 percent that is 10 million people is struggling to survive.

Unlike zombies the people will not turn into undead by biting and scratching.

Only the dead will turn into undead.

There seems to be some sort of conditions for this and Chandu don't know.

Along the way Chandu stopped by the supermarket where the building was completely collapsed.

But there are fridges that are holding the high calorie foods like chocolates.

These are his primary targets.

He removed some of the less useful things from the storage space and stored the foods with long shelf life.

The food in the storage space did not seem to spoil quickly.

After filling it up there is still some space that he left for guns.

He made his way to the police station.

The building is half collapsed and the security door was already broken.

Chandu don't know if there is another person that already took the guns before him.

The vault that stored the guns was still locked.

Chandu moved around killing few more undead before finding the undead wearing police officer uniform with keys at its waist.

Chandu killed him and took the keys.

While killing all the way and taking the monster cores Chandu made sure to observe his surroundings to see if someone is observing him.

Even while he was opening the vault that stored the guns he carefully checked his surroundings.

Then Chandu checked the guns and bullets inside.

He found a normal hand gun, and a shot gun.

The normal gun has around 60 bullets and the shot gun has 12 bullets.

He stored them straight into the storage space.

There is a shovel in his hand and a bag pack filled with food in it.

There is some water that he is carrying in the back pack pouch.

Chandu made sure that no one finds him having the storage space.

There is only one police station in this town.

Chandu started to move around to kill more of these undead.

His target is to improve a level if possible.

Also he felt that these undead might evolve if the time passed by as his nerd friends said previously.

He came back to the super market again at the lunch time.

He wanted to cook some food to eat.

Since there is food that has short shelf life here, so, he is going to eat it now.

He took out some meat from the refrigerator of the supermarket and some masala packets that are still intact.

There are utensils and many other things nearby the market.

He made a fire near the supermarket right on the road arranging some broken bricks to make a small stove with fire wood.

He took out some frozen chicken wings and started to cook with masala.

There are even water bubbles that store 25 to 30 liters near the rubble that is still intact.....
