1 The Ugly Truth
Chapter 1 :
Shock ran throughout Victoria's entire body as she witnessed the scene before her. It was Everest and Hailey, her boyfriend and step-sister, well ex-boyfriend and ex-step-sister.
She wished she could have said that for her step-sister, but she couldn't for the dad love her stepmom too much to throw it all away for the sake of her getting cheated on.
Victoria quietly backed away from the scene for she wasn't a fan of confrontation, heartbroken she quickly ran towards her car, drove towards a gas station, and started crying.
Crying about the times they had, crying about how Everest and Hailey blatantly acted like they wanted nothing to do with each other, crying about the unknown fact that she's carrying his child.
Silently driving to a hotel, a lot of thoughts were racing about in her mind. She was worried about seeing Everest and Hailey tonight, for her dad and step-mom had invited her to their house for dinner.
Although not giving a direct answer, she still could not shake the feeling of betrayal and annoyance for them in the pit of her stomach.
Caught up in her thoughts, she had not realized that she had reached her desired destination. She hurriedly got out of the car, she gave the valet her keys to look after her car.
" Good day, Madame Jamespell," said the valet.
Victoria took out a 100 dollar bill from the comfort of her purse, and, gave it to the valet with a response of, "Sawyer, my day has been anything but good, but do have a wonderful day. ", and with that, she walked away, refusing to hear the noble refusals of the boy.
The valet, Sawyer, life has never been easy for him with a drug addict for a mom and a deceased father.
The 17-year-old had to be taking care of his family, which includes the 5-year-old sister and a 3-year-old brother.
He had let out a sigh of relief when Madame Jamespell gave him a $100 bill. Sawyer looked to the sky and prayed a silent prayer for Madame Jamespell, and pledge that life will be better for him and his siblings.
Victoria had just finished showering and was getting rid of the excess water that had taken residence into her hair. Sighing, she remembers the harsh look the receptionist had given her when she had asked for the penthouse before telling her already booked.
With no other choice, she had opted for the second-best suite in the hotel; it drew out her of her thoughts when her stomach rumbled.
Quickly throwing on some clothes, she grabbed her purse which contained her valuables, some of which included her keys, her credit card, her room card, and her ID.
Opening her door, she hurried down the hall while fumbling with her phone. She let out a pleased sigh when suddenly she collided into a wall.
The wall seemed to be made of iron, at least some part because she soon felt smooth skin meeting with hers, keeping her steady.
When she had regained her balance she slowly looked up and there he seemed epitomized that of an angel, with his dark smoldering gaze that stared deeply into her soul. His long, thick, dark lashes framed his face.
He had very high cheekbones, and a very chiseled jawline that well seemed like genetics more than facial exercise.
He had very dark, curly, silky hair, Victoria's eyes continued downwards slowly assessing every inched of his body, she saw the prominent outline of his muscles beneath his shirt, that of which clung to him like a second skin that makes it very easy to see that he had an eight packed abdomen.
Embarrassment slowly crept on her skin flushed red when she realized that she had been caught checking out the god standing before her. When her gaze went back to the guy's eyes she saw that he had accumulated a deep scowl on his face.
He then quickly unwound his arm from around her waist and quickly stepped back as if she had burned him, he cleared his throat as if he wanted to say something when he was interrupted by excited ear-splitting squeals from a few teenagers down the hall.
" Axel Monseiratti ! "
" OMG, can I please have an autograph ?! "
" Marry me ! "
Axel, the name Victoria had heard a fan screamed, quickly pull down his hat and threw on some dark shades and it was so fast she that she barely registered the action, for Axel had brought his hand to meet the base of her neck before bringing his lips to meet hers.
The feeling of his soft, plump lips brought a tingly sensation that caused Victoria to give a moan and shudder of pleasure.
His tongue worked wonders in her mouth that made her clenched one arm on his biceps and the other in his silk perfection.
He gave a grunt of satisfaction that made her moan for the second time, but this time louder.
Unaware that they had a huge gathering of a crowd, that of which includes the paparazzi, who were taking their shots of the two for a perfect headline.
With no warning, Axel pulled away, pulled Victoria into an open space, and said one word that had her fainting, or she thought that was the reason.
" Hi. "
Victoria slowly woke up to the familiar scent of the hospital she remembers so clearly as she had been in here too many times.
The first time was when she had fallen off the monkey bar in the park and her dad panicked and had rushed her to the hospital only for her to receive a little mermaid cast on a watermelon flavored lollipop.
The second was when Hailey got beaten to a pulp by her boyfriend when he found out she was cheating on him with three members of the football team.
' Guess once a slut, always a slut' she thought.
" The leopard never changes spots. " she muttered darkly as remembered when her grandmother had said that when her boyfriend, Noah, in Kindergarten had kissed Avery, the 'IT' girl at the time on the cheek, and she had gotten completely jealous.
And decided confronted him about it. He gave her his cute puppy eyes and promised not to do it again and had placed a flower in his hair.
And the next day she caught him doing the same thing to another girl. She had cried about her broken heart when she went home, let's just say she was a big heart breaker at the tender age at four.
The sound of someone clearing their throat made her aware that they lost her in her thoughts.
A habit of hers that she was trying hard to change. She spun to the direction of the noise, and there he was, with his dark eyes that never seemed to amaze her.
Heat flushed her cheeks, and she cast her eyes to the hospital band that seemed like the most interesting thing. She opened her mouth to ask him why she was here; but the doctor came in.
" Mr. Monseiratti, she fainted from dehydration make sure she drinks enough water or your child will die from the lack of it," After the doctor said that, there was a moment of silence before Victoria exclaimed aloud.
" What! "
In all of her existence, Victoria would have never guessed that she would carry a living bean inside her. It disgusts her that the child she's carrying is Everest's; she was not ready to face him, much less to mention that she is pregnant.
' Today is the day the universe challenges me' she thought, and she was not about to fail. Little did she know she was going to have to say the same words for a second one.
" Terminate it."
To say that it shocked Axel, and The Doctor was an understatement. Never would they think that a woman in carrying would like to kill innocent life, without at least trying.
The Doctor blurted out a thousand reasons why she should reconsider her choice, while Axel propped himself against the wall in the hospital's corner room. And was observing the scene like a predator watching his prey.
With a sigh of failure, The Doctor walked out of the room muttering about how they should be ready in the next hour. Victoria annoyed by Axel's gaze turned to him and angrily asked, "What are you doing here ?."
He merely shrugged and said, "You fainted. ", as if it was like the most common thing in the world.
Sighing Victoria held out her hand and started introducing herself, "The name is Victoria Jamespell, I love Pineapples, When I was younger I wanted to be a fairy godmother, and they cheated me o. ", she looked at Axel expectantly, as if she wanted something.
Axel furrowed his brows and pouted, a thing here does when he has confused, taking this as a sign to continue Victoria continued to talk about her favorite Band, which school she attended, and told him that she was the entrepreneur of one of the largest chains of Restaurants in the world.
Axel stared at Victoria as she spoke, never taking his eyes off her, mesmerized by her beauty and brains, he can't help but think of her being the mother of their child; but if a woman could kill an innocent life so cold-heartedly, without a blink of an eyelash is not caring, lady.
It makes her bitchy, snobby, and selfish, and he's got a lot of that in his life already.
Victoria noticed the look Axel was giving her, it was a cross between anger, disappointment, and disgust. She couldn't help but wonder if it was because she was aborting the baby.
Yes, it was against her morals but it was still her decision and no one was going to change that, not even that hell of a hunk standing at the side of her bed.
