Another Vision

Face planting on the hard tile, the scent of dust filled my nose. Picking myself up and brushing off the dust, I sneezed, kicking up even more dust around me. The room had been unused for a long time, but still seemed to be in good condition.

The train station looked like any of the others at Kings Cross, but this one only had one sign, 9 3/4. Taking in the novelty of the room, I slowly slipped into a reverie thinking of how I'd activated the door. Does that mean, that my "energy" is the same as their "magic?" Let's give it another try.

I commanded my energy to move to my hand again and this time, it moved with no hesitation toward my hand and started accumulating. As the energy under my hand started to build up, my hand started to glow and heat up, so I withdrew it back into my core.

Skill Gained: Energy Control

~~~~~~
Fascinating, I can gain skills from practice as well. Maybe I should try to learn some of the Harry Potter spells? Although the power of the spells from this world can't compare to the might of a Slann's magic, they do have their uses.
"Are you all here?"
"Yes, my lord."
"I need you to do something for me. Locate an abandoned building, but make sure that it's still in good condition. We need to set up a base somewhere."
New Quest: The Beginning of an Empire
For someone with such large goals, don't you think you're a little poor?
Objective: Acquire at least $100,000 and set up a base.
Reward: 100 SP
~~~~~~~

Does the system give me quests or does it reward me for achievements I complete? Whatever, while they locate a base for us, I'm going to put Foresight to good use.

"Foresight"

Before the skill activated, I briefly felt a large portion of my energy flood into my eyes and merge with something.

My eyesight went white and I had to take a few moments to blink it out of my eyes before I could focus on the scene before me.

Groaning in annoyance, I said, "Damn, this is gonna get annoying fast."

"Don't worry, you'll get used to it eventually." The voice of a girl sounded out behind me in a dreamy tone.

Turning to the familiar girl, I said with a blank face, "Are you going to be here every time I do this."

This seemed to amuse her as a mischievous smirk came across her face. "There's not much else a girl can do when she's stuck in a dingy little jail cell all day."

Not wanting to be a complete ass, I replied, "That's unfortunate."

It was her turn to put on a deadpan expression however, as she shot back with, "That's all you have to say? Someone tells you that they're imprisoned and all you have to say is 'that's unfortunate?'"

"Hey, I don't even know you, why should I get worked up over you?" Maybe I shouldn't have said that, it felt a bit mean.

"That's fair, I just wanted someone to talk to..." As she spoke, her voice grew smaller and smaller until she was just whispering.

Luna then, sat down and curled up into a fetal position, shivering. As cruel as it was, my first though wasn't of her mental state, but instead, what she was sitting upon. It was a fine bench constructed from a smooth, black metal.

As I took note of my surroundings, I sat down next to her and started rubbing her back in a token attempt to comfort her. We were in the middle of what should have been a beautiful garden. I say "should have" because although the walkways and planters looked like they were in good conditions, the flowers along the way had all wilted and crumbled.

The garden was up against a large wall, that more than likely belonged to a mansion judging by the sheer size of it. Seeing a few windows on the wall, I gently lifted my hand off of Luna's back and walked toward the windows.

Most of the windows just showed mundane sights, like a kitchen, some bedrooms and a hall. I was starting to lose hope with this vision until I came to the final window. When I peered inside, what I saw shocked the daylights out of me.

It was Severus Snape, potion master of Hogwarts and he was talking with none other than Voldemort, Lord No-Nose himself. I couldn't hear them through the window and the fact that Snape held a perpetual frown on his face and that Voldemort was deranged didn't help me with my guesses at all.

I was so lost in trying to figure out what they were saying, that I didn't notice Luna getting up and walking right behind me. She poked me in the center of my back with her index finger, making me flinch. I never was good with jump scares.

"I could tell you what they're saying if you promise to do something for me."

"What?"

"You just have to come back again, that's it."

"That's it?"

"That's what I said, wasn't it? Anyway, Professor Snape is telling He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named that Harry will be moved from Privet Drive soon and that he'll be vulnerable to attack."

"You don't sound too concerned about your friend."

"Wouldn't you be a little upset if all of your friends forgot about you and you were locked up in the basement of a deranged lunatic."

"Sorry, didn't mean to hit a nerve."

"Sigh, it's okay. You will come back though... right?" She looked up at me with her wide silver eyes that threatened to tear up if I said no.

You've gotta be fucking with me, I can channel the power of the very stars, yet I can't say no to puppy-dog eyes.

"I'll be back, I promise. So stop making those eyes at me," I said as I ruffled her hair.

"Foresight."
