The Press Conference
The woman coughed lightly into the microphone causing the hall to become silent. All the cameras were focused on the woman standing there, waiting until the room became pin drop silent. She finally spoke, with a voice that was calm but commanded respect, "Good morning and welcome to our press conference." While she was speaking, Justin had instantly recognized the woman as had his father, who was watching at the family house with the elders, did as well. "I am Kimberly Henson, and I am the deputy CEO of Dearborn Industries. Before our CEO speaks a couple of housekeeping matters we must address."
The room maintained its pin drop silence, however at the Henson Family Home there was an uproar. "She's been hiding all along under Dearborn's wing and has climbed to deputy CEO all this time" one of them spoke. The all began to ponder the matter while paying close attention to the press conference. All of them except one couple. They seemed disinterested in the whole affair of Kimberly. They were more preoccupied with another thought and that was of their son. The couple staying out of the conversation was non other than Sean's parents who were watching the press conference with a slight hint of hope for their only son.
Back at the press conference Kimberly calmly took a sip of water before continuing, "Firstly, in response to rumors that Sebastian Nunez was released due to the issue revolving around Golden Business Consultants. These rumors are completely false. Sebastian was brought in as a temporary CEO to fill while our CEO and chairman went on a vacation. Secondly the issue surrounding our company in regards to Golden Business Consultants...." If there was any noise left in the hall it had vanished at this point. Everyone in the hall, from Sara in the front row to the scheming trio in the back, even those in the Henson home were focused on the woman dressed in white, who continued after a brief pause. "... the CEO has decided that we will not be pursuing the issue. The CEO has decided to personally address this issue when he speaks later on."
The hall began to whisper, with many wondering if the CEO had gone soft on his vacation, but they were quickly brought back to focus on Kimberly as she spoke up again. "Last item of housekeeping, we will investigate the issue surrounding Golden Business Consultants, as we have no evidence from within the company or any subsidiary that has hired the firm for consultation. We will investigate and bring the fruit of our investigation to light, and a warning to those responsible: you have drug our name into this and we will persecute you no matter where you decide to hide." The hall was filled with rustling now as this sounded more like the CEO, and no wonder they let the company off if they had never used them before. Then Kimberly's voice rang out again, "Ladies and gentleman the CEO, chairman and founder of Dearborn Industries, Chairman and founder of Mystycs, and the chairman of Hughes Investment Corporation will now speak."
Kimberly gathered her things and walked of the stage and sat right next to Sara before giving her a small reassuring smile. Sara had seemingly finally gotten the chance to meet the man in charge of her rise in the world. She was relieved that Sean now had Dearborn off his back and was looking into the matter for him. However she was now nervous as the man who changed everything for her was about to speak. Everyone's eyes, wether in the hall or at home watching tv, were focused on the podium waiting for the CEO to appear when the doors at the back of the hall opened. Two rows of 10 men in solid black suit entered before opening a path for a man dressed in a royal blue 3-piece suit, with matching color tie and pocket square with gold designs on them. To ordinary people in the hall the suit was refined, classy with a hint of superiority. However to Sara, she instantly recognized the suit, actually more so the design on the tie and pocket square. When she saw the man walk up to the podium she, along with the trio at the back and everyone in the Henson home, instantly recognized Sean.
Sean walked up to the podium and could hear the whispers starting to grow, before his icy glare fell upon the crowd silencing them. He assorted his papers for a few seconds before his icy voice rang out threw the hall and millions of TVs across the globe. "My name is Sean McAlester, and I am the Chairman and Founder of Dearborn Industries."
"Regarding the rumors of me stealing from businesses as a scam to make money this is my response. I have only consulted two companies outside of ones that I owned, and those were Camilla Pharmaceuticals and Manser Engineering. Both Emma Camilla and Henry Manser are family friends of my parents which is why I assisted them."
Sara was stunned at the words Sean had spoke, the month of training was him just making sure they made money for him. There were no emotions for him just profit. She laughed at herself for falling for a man that only loved money. 'If all of that was true then why is he wearing that suit from the night he claimed me as his woman and I am placed front and center?' Sara pondered. She quickly snapped out of her thoughts and focused back on the press conference. While Sara was having her thoughts, the Henson house fell completely silent as everyone looked between Sean's parents and the tv. They couldn't believe the teacher and engineer gave birth to the business genius for the century.
Back at the press conference every soon made the connection: why would he steal money from companies in that type of scam if he was the king of the business world. The trio in back soon realized that their plan had backfired in the worst possible way, but how could they have known that the person they tried to pit Sean against was Sean himself. Sean cleared his throat before he began to answer various questions about the future of Dearborn. All the while a woman in a green dress sat in the front row staring at Sean who seemed to have composure and confidence oozing out of every pore while talking to the press. The more he went on speaking the less and less she found herself being angry at him. "Thank you that will be all." After about a hour Sean ended the press conference but no one dared make a move to leave before him. Sean calmly walked down from the stage and stopped in front of the woman dressed in a green dress and held out his hand.
The move was captured by every camera and every reporter in the hall, as well as many of the businessmen. While everyone was staring at Sean standing there with an outstretched hand, palm up ready to receive the woman's hand, he calmly looked down and smiled at the woman. Sara looked at the hand before her and then looked at Sean who had a smile form on his face when they made eye contact. His eyes instantly turned soft and almost golden, his smile seemed to radiate sunshine and his patience made a smile form on Sara's face. The first smile in over three months and she felt her heart take over her mind as her hand landed in Sean's. As he helped her up, she felt his hand tighten around hers in what seemed like a double edge sword to her anger. The first thing was it gave a feeling of reassurance that he was back to being the rock anchoring her during the storm. The second was one of fear, that if he didn't hold on tight she would run away. Maybe these where her own crazy thought, but they made her smile even more, causing everyone in the hall to be amazed at her natural beauty as they watched the couple leave smiling with out a care for everyone else present. Some even began to wonder if that was the same man who looked like he could freeze people with his glare earlier. However one woman was fuming in the back as she watched the couple leave. She was supposed to have Sean in her arms, but now her plan was ruined and he, as an unofficial king, publicly named someone else his queen.
