216 What's Missing?

The ambulance's siren was blurring loudly in the quiet of the night as it zoomed past them and halted outside their home and paramedics rushed out. There was someone they were lifting from the ground covered in blood.

Zyair stopped the bike at a distance, understanding something had gone terribly wrong. He dismounted the bike and helped Skyla down.

"Zyair, what's going on?" She asked with widened eyes as soon as he took off her helmet. Her heart was beating like a frantic deer.

"I am not sure, but you stay here. I will be back soon, let me find out." Zyair had decided to send over a police officer to stay with Skyla so he could talk to other Police Officers and assess the situation.

Kail was unavailable, he had taken a few day's leave for his sister's wedding.

"Be careful," she whispered, clutching his arm while he turned her away from the scene. Panic gripped her like a bloody vine.
