81 Chapter 80 : Beyond shook.

Joshua shook Elijah's hand with a blank stare and didn't say anything. In fact, he didn't know what to say. Anthony looked at Joshua. Elijah let go of his hand. " I asked him to pick someone to be his personal secretary and he chose you ". Joshua turned to Anthony trying to register what he heard and what was happening.

" From the day after he will be in charge and you will be his personal secretary. So you can shift your things to your place in this floor ". Joshua took it all in and felt at a loss of words. It was as if his brain stopped functioning. He felt like he was in a cliche and typical ' where am I ? what is this ? what is happening ' kind of a situation.

Elijah continued to look at him. Joshua glanced at Elijah whose eyes he could read for the first time. He knew Elijah picked him on purpose. The both of them waiting for his answer. " I.... " Joshua gulped. " I will do it. But for today I want to be what I am and help my team with the work. I will be here the day after as the new CEO's personal secretary ".

Anthony nodded. " As you wish ". Elijah smiled at Joshua. " I look forward to working with you ". Joshua bowed lightly. " I will take my leave sir ". He left the room and went back to his floor. He went to the washroom first before going to his seat. He washed his face by splashing water hard. It was like he wanted to wake up.

He wanted to open his eyes and see the ceiling of his bedroom. He wished it was just a dream and it would be over once he opened his eyes. But that was not the case. Everything was happening for real. He took deep breaths trying to calm down. He rested his hands on the counter and looked at his reflection the mirror.

He suddenly felt reality hit him. Every puzzle he thought was not one or left unanswered had an answer now. Elijah being curious about the company and his approach to him. Even if he did like gossip for someone who sat at home, he was beyond curious about something he wasn't even associated with.

He did think that maybe Elijah wanted to approach Joshua through it. He thought Elijah used the company to get closer to him. But now he was not sure if that was the case. He didn't know if he used the company for Joshua or Joshua for the company. Joshua also thought that he found things a little too easily whenever they tried.

The highlight of all, he now knows why he thought the signature was familiar. Of course it would be. He saw the S in Anthony's signature too which is S as in the S in the company's name. How did he even not look at all these ? He wanted to pull his hair but he knew he can't style it back properly. So it was a big no. Everything fell right in place. He took a few more deep breaths and walked to his seat.

His teammates along with Brian surrounded him. He picked up a bottle of water and took big gulps. He put it down and all of them were looking at him waiting for him to open his mouth. " What happened ? You look..... shook ". Olivia asked. " I was asked to become the new CEO's P.S. ". All of them gasped in shock and covered their mouths. They turned to him again.

" Congratulations ! " They were all so happy for Joshua. Brain smiled too but his smile dropped when he saw Joshua who was sitting there like a statue. " What happened ? You don't want to do it ? I can speak to them if you want me to ". Joshua shook his head and smiled. " It is just.... too shocking ". " Really ? Is that all ? "

Joshua smiled and nodded. " You should give us a treat ". Joshua smiled. " Today's lunch is on me. You can order whatever you want ". All of them cheered and went back to their seats. Joshua continued to work. He kept himself busy to forget what happened. He knew it rested somewhere at the back of his brain. But he didn't let it get to him.

He was done pretty late and exhausted. He rotated his neck and walked out of the office. He heard a car honk and turned to see who it was. He saw Elijah near a car, standing leaning against it. There were not many employees out right now. Most of them were still working over time to finish what they have to. Elijah gestured for Joshua to come closer.

Joshua looked around once. He walked closer and stood in front of Elijah. " What is it ? " " Get in the car. We need to go home. I am also just leaving, so let's go together ". Joshua nodded and got in the car. " How about we have dinner and then go home ? " Joshua nodded again. Elijah drove to a restaurant nearby.

Joshua didn't order much. Elijah noticed but he didn't say anything. Joshua felt like he didn't have an appetite. He ate almost half of what he ordered and that was all. Elijah was done and they left for home. Elijah parked the car. He turned to look at Joshua. Joshua was looking straight ahead.

Joshua took a deep breath and got out of the car. He walked to the elevator. Elijah followed him without saying a word all through. They got in the elevator and the doors closed. Joshua as much as didn't even look at Elijah. The doors opened and they walked out. Joshua unlocked the door and walked in.

Elijah followed him and walked into the house. Joshua dropped his bag and Elijah took off his coat and put it on the couch. Joshua walked straight into Elijah's room and sat at the edge of the bed. He was looking down. He pulled his legs up and sat cross legged. Elijah stood in front of him and waited for Joshua to say something. Anything.
