8 Carelessness

Realizing that Renessa was watching the two women behind him, Rudi quickly moved and blocked Renessa's view of the two women protectively. Renessa wanted to laugh at her father's odd behavior. His father acted as if she could hurt his new family with just a glance. She meant the old family that she had found out about.

"Don't look at them!" Rudi snapped to wake Renessa from her reverie.

"Are they my mother and half-sister that you forgot to introduce me to, father?" Renessa asked in a fake enthusiastic voice. She completely ignored Rudi's words to stop calling the man 'father'.

Mary, who had been looking down earlier, was seen moving towards her mother to seek protection when she heard Renessa's words.

Renessa snorted in disbelief looking at the girl's exaggerated reaction. Does she look like a brutal killer or a madwoman for her half-sister to act like that?

"Stop your nonsense and get out of this place, right now!" Rudi roared and started moving towards Renessa aggressively.

But Renessa still looks calm, her body doesn't move. She then stood up when her father was right in front of her, making the man have to step back.

"Looks like we can't have a calm conversation tonight since you are so tired, father. We'll talk tomorrow when you will be less tired. Please tell Liam to deliver my dinner to my room," Renessa said casually as she passed her father's frozen body.

"What room? you are not welcome here," Rudy asked in a surprised tone.

"Ah, you must forget about it since you are so old, but I have room in the east wing. the second biggest room just after mother's. You don't have to worry about it since I have tidied everything," Renessa said with a calm voice and waved her hand.

Rudi was speechless. He didn't expect that Renessa had met the butler and invited herself to stay in one of the rooms in the mansion. It was registered in his head that Renessa was taking Mary's room. His face was red because of anger although, before his surprise was over, he heard Renessa's voice again, "Oh yes, Mary, aunt Laura, please don't be shy and think of this place as your own home. You can stay here as long as you want since you are father's wife."

Renessa's voice sounded sincere, but Rudi realized that the brat was making fun of him and those he loved. Renessa had only climbed two steps when Rudi's booming screams filled all corners of the house, "Damn brat! This is no longer your home! Get out of here right now!"

Rudi's face was now as red as a tomato, Renessa's words were like a slap in front of his wife and child.

Laura, who realized her husband's emotions were getting worse each second, approached the man and stroked his back. Trying to calm him down. Laura's actions seemed to have paid off as now men were looking at her calmer now that Renessa felt sick.

Renessa realized that Laura had been staring at her since earlier and was enjoying the situation where her father had verbally abused her, and for some reason she hated that woman even though they had only met a few minutes ago. The woman didn't say anything to disturb her peace, but Renessa caught a few smirks and the woman's condescending gaze sent dangerous signals into her mind.

Rudi's new wife seems to sneer at Renessa because she can steal all of Rudi's attention and affection for her and her daughter.

"I've talked to Uncle Jefri, Father," Renessa's low voice was like thunder in broad daylight in Rudi's ear. The anger was gone, replaced with surprise. The man was speechless for a minute before the hatred filled his eyes again. The atmosphere that had just slightly eased was now becoming more tense.

Rudi seemed to know where their conversation was going.

"I know that all of my mother's wealth was left for me, including this house," Renessa said slowly while looking at Rudi's face which was getting paler then looked around with satisfaction in her eyes.

Renessa looked into Laura's face and found her looking at her with surprise then hatred. It seemed like she did not know about this fact. Rudy must never tell his wife that all Renessa's inheritance couldn't be transferred to another person before she reached her 25 birthday.

"Oh, it seemed like your new wife did not know the fact that this house is mine, father?" Renessa asked with a feign concern in her voice.

Renessa smiled widely in amusement after getting confirmation from the woman's face.

She wanted to laugh at the woman's antics. Laura hated her, but she shamelessly stayed in her house and enjoyed the treasure her mother had left her. So shameless.

"You…. You….. disrespectful child!" Rudi stuttered in anger.

"What's wrong father? Did I do or say something wrong?" Renessa asked with confusion on her face.

"I just say that because I don't want them to feel that they are not welcome here and not making it seem shameful since they live here without me knowing. But if they are uncomfortable living here, you can take them to stay-" Renessa did not have a chance to finish her words since Rudi's scream took over.

"You should be the one to get out of here. I am your father, I will be the one who decides who will stay or leave this house. Get out!" Rudy screamed.

"Why should I? This is my house. The one who could not accept that fact should be the one to leave. I think even your new family couldn't be that shameless to live comfortably here after kicking out the rightful owner of the house, right? That would be very shameless," Renessa said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

Laura's face quickly started to turn red. She must be so embarrassed that a teenager like Renessa insulted her like that. The girl had just called her shameless and she could not deny that because she had lived here all these years.

"You must be too tired to converse with Renessa right now. Let's all sleep tonight and talk with a cool head tomorrow?" Laura said after a second.

"Your wife is so clever, father. Now that everything is settled, I will be back to my room," Renessa just took a step before she stopped and turned around again.

"Oh right, you guys must have heard what I said before, I have moved all things from my room to the storehouse. That must be Mary's room, right? That will be my room from now on. Mary dear, you can ask Liam to help you arrange your things in any room you wanted, except my room of course," Renessa said before waving her hand and calmly walking towards her room. This time she didn't stop or look back.

Behind her, Renessa could hear Mary's sobs and Laura's gentle voice, which seemed to be trying to comfort her daughter.

After Renessa's image disappeared, Laura immediately turned to her husband and glared at him fiercely.

"You said that this is your house! You said that you got this house from your dead wife. then what about this! You said that she's not coming back?! What about now?!" Laura's restrained voice was filled with disappointment. The woman looked at her husband with annoyance. The man had once promised her that Renessa would no longer set foot in the house they lived in and disturb their peaceful life.

"This is my house, she shouldn't be coming back here again." Rudi quickly retorted. He did not know that Renessa would have the nerve to come back. He thought that the girl would not be back if he did not say anything. Renessa is supposed to be afraid of him. She was supposed to listen to whatever he said.

Not that he didn't know, he didn't care at all about the girl who was supposed to be his biological child. Looks like he got an email invitation to his daughter's graduation ceremony, but he didn't read it and immediately deleted the email without reading it.

At that time, he thought that his daughter would find work there and would never return to her homeland. His mind was suddenly filled with Aunt Shinta's face, a distant relative who had been helping him get rid of Renessa from his life. She did try to call him a few times a month ago but because he was busy with his business and Mary's competition, he didn't pick up the call or call back. In the end the woman completely stopped trying to contact him.

At that time, he was busy taking care of Mary's first international competition, Rudi completely forgot about Renessa, the damn child from his first marriage.

Rudi actually wanted to ask Aunt Shinta to keep the girl there no matter what. If necessary, he wanted Renessa not to come back and disturb his family's happiness. But before he could express his wish Renessa returned. Renessa's appearance in this house is the result of his carelessness.
