UNKNOWN NUMBER

I really don't know what's going on in my life. I mean, first. I have to deal with Mrs. Kim for one month, second, Jaoquin decided to live with me in my own house. The only place that I can be free and be me, the real me. Then today, I am driving hurriedly to the airport early this morning since I have to fetch Mrs. Kim, wherein it's not my job to do this!

I mean, why me? Doesn't she have someone else to pick her up at the airport? Her family? Bodyguards? Her husband? Bobby? Anyone but me!

Why do I have to suffer like this where all I want is to have a simple job to support my daily needs and my boyfriend's school financially. Why do I have to be in this miserable life?

It's not like I don't want to be with Jaoquin. It's just that, I don't want him to invade my privacy which is my home. The place that I can be whoever I want. And now that he decided to live with me, then he will have the chance to control me again, on how I am supposed to move, to dress, to act and everything.

I'm already letting him control me whenever we are together, but I don't want it to happen inside my own house.

"I need to talk to him." I said to myself while my eyes focused on the road and gripped the steering wheel so tightly that my knuckles turned pale. My phone rings and I turn on the Bluetooth and answer the call. "Hello?" I asked.

"Good morning!" Seu greeted me so enthusiastically and it made me smile for a reason. "Sorry I couldn't reply last night when you messaged me since I slept too early."

"It's okay, no worries." I replied.

"So how's it going?"

"Bad, really really bad." I frowned.

"Yeah I know, I mean me and Renee we're both surprised when you told us that Jaoquin is in your house.." She paused and I heard her chuckle. "..with all of his things."

"I was surprised too! He didn't even ask me if I wanted him in my house! How could he decide without even asking me, right?!"

"Wait, are you driving?" She asked and ignored my tantrums.

"I'm in the worst day of my life. I have to leave so early to fetch my boss's wife at the airport."

"Oh god." She laughed and I heard Renee shushing her. "I'm so-sorry." She apologized in between her laughter. "Why does it have to be you?"

"I'm asking myself too but my boss called me last night to ruin my life." I scoffed and pulled the car to the left since I finally arrived at the airport. I looked for a spot to park my car near the entrance area so I don't have to run inside just to get my boss's wife.

"It's okay, Lisa. You just have to stay calm and don't let the day get on you." Renee said and it somehow gave me hope despite having a bad day. There's still someone out there who has a much worse situation than mine.

"Thank you Renee, I have to go. Call you guys later." I said as I turned off the call and hopped out from my car and walked inside the airport while holding the paper with Mrs. Kim written on it.

The airport isn't that crowded since it's still early in the morning, 5 AM to be exact. I went to the arriving area and lifted up the paper in my hand.

I waited and waited and waited, until my feet and my arms felt so numb that I didn't have enough energy to lift it up. My stomach keeps growling and I am too exhausted. I glanced at my watch and my eyes widened when I saw the time.

It's already 9 AM so that means, I've been standing here for three hours and yet I haven't seen any woman that I'm waiting for based on the description I was told.

"Damn it!" I hissed in frustration and leaned back to the barrier to rest for a bit. My eyes roamed inside the airport and I noticed a woman sitting pretty with her arms and legs crossed at the waiting area, wearing a dark shade and a knee length coat. She's with another blonde woman standing on her side while looking for someone as her neck craning and turning left and right. Then our eyes met and she let out a sigh of relief, I guess?

She waved her hand at me, I looked to my left and right but there's no one with me so I looked back to the blonde and she's pointing at me.

"Me?" I asked as I pointed to myself then she nodded her head and motioned me to go to them. I am as confused as fuck but I still walked towards them.

"Are you Lisa Mcphee?" The blonde asked.

"Ah yes." I said.

"Oh thank god, hi I'm Rosie Park, secretary of Mrs. Kim." She introduced and offered her hand.

"You finally arrived!" I exclaimed as I reached for her hand.

"Sorry if we keep you waiting, our flight got three hours delayed and I didn't had the chance to inform Mr. Kim." She apologized. I had to smile at her even if inside me, I wanted to yell at her and curse the hell out of her.

"You're late." The woman on the bench said as she stood up and clung her purse on her shoulder and turned her heels then she walked away.

"Wait—what? I waited for three hours in the arriving area and now I'm the one who got late?" I asked in disbelief while looking at the back of the woman dumbfounded.

"I'm really sorry about that, please. I hope you can forgive me." Rosie said as she held my hands.

"No, it's totally fine. Three hours is nothing." I said mockingly and took back my hands from her. "Let's go so I can take you home." I said and walked away.

When I got outside the airport, I let out a sigh before turning to face Mrs. Kim. "I'll just get my car." I said and bowed my head. I didn't let her reply and I ran immediately. "Damn that woman!" I groaned as I got inside my car and drove towards the exit. I stepped out again and helped Rosie to put their baggage on my trunk then opened the backseat door for Mrs. Kim.

"I hate people getting late." She said before getting inside. I was left dumbfounded outside and looked at Rosie.

"I'm sorry." She smiled awkwardly and rubbed my arm before she hopped inside the passenger side.

"Oh come on!" I groaned and threw my hands in the air before walking to the other side.

I am driving in silence, no one dared to speak while we're heading to Mr. Kim's house. I never even dare to look at the rearview mirror to see the woman at the back or I might not control myself and roll my eyes at her in irritation.

I only got to meet her for one minute and I already hate her, no, I despised her!

"Is he at home?" Mrs. Kim asked but I didn't respond since I assumed she was talking to her secretary. But Rosie nudged my arm which made me look at her confused.

"She's asking you." She whispered.

"Me?" I asked and she nodded her head. "Oh uhm I don't know ma'am. We haven't talked—." I said.

"Why didn't you know? Aren't you his secretary?" She cut me off.

I pursed my lips and just focused my eyes back on the road. "Actually ma'am, I left my house at 5 and since then, he hasn't yet called me to inform me if he's already in his office." I said then drew a short breath to calm myself.

"What kind of secretary you are if you're not even asking your boss for his whereabouts?"

"I'm afraid to tell you that Sir Timothy hates it if someone—."

"Call him and ask him if he's in the house." She cut me off again for the second time but instead of whining, I just compiled and dialed Timothy and put my phone on speaker.

"Good morning Lisa." Timothy greeted and seemed so excited to answer the call since he picked up the call after one ring.

What's good in the morning if I'm driving your wife to your house?

"Good morning Mr. Kim—."

"Oh come on, what happened to Sir or Timothy?"

"Oh god." I mumbled under my breath and stole a glance at the rearview mirror to see Mrs. Kim's reaction, but thankfully, she seemed didn't mind the way his husband talked to me. "Sir, I called just to inform you that—."

"Just ask him."

"Sir, where are you now?" I asked my boss and mentally rolled my eyes at the woman behind me.

"I know that it's hard for you not to see this gorgeous face first thing first in the morning, but you can get here in my office after you send my wife home so you can—."

"Sir!" I exclaimed and I heard him laugh from the other line.

"I'm just kidding." Timothy said between his laughter. "But I'm in my office and I'm expecting you to be here before 10, I still have a meeting and I need my secretary."

"Okay Sir, I'll be there." I said and turned off the call before he could blurt out nonsensical words again. Then I focus back on the road again.

"You seemed so close with my husband." Mrs. Kim said. I really don't want to engage in any conversation with her but she's still my boss's wife so I had no choice but to answer.

"I still know my boundaries as his secretary, ma'am."

"That didn't answer my question, Ms. Mcphee." She said with full authority in her voice.

"Yes ma'am, we're close since I am always by his side wherever he goes and we built a bit of a friendship together outside his company and outside of my working hours." I said and tried to suppress my irritation but I know she noticed it and I don't give a damn if she did, I tried my best and that's enough.

"Friendship or relationship?"

"I have a boyfriend and we're living together just in case he didn't mention it to you." I said firmly.

The audacity to assume that I have a relationship with her husband! Excuse me? First of all, he's a Narcissistic asshole. Second, I have a boyfriend, who is living in my house. Third, I would prefer her over her husband.

Ok, the third one is unnecessary.

"I don't mind though, you don't have to be that defensive." She chuckled dryly and looked outside the window. I shut my eyes closed for a second and heaved a deep breath to keep what's left of my composure then focus again on the road for the 3rd time until we finally reached the exclusive Subdivision where Sir Timothy lives.

I honked at the car two times before the gate automatically opened, not literally because it still needed a guard to push the button to open it. I pulled inside the driveway and stopped in front of the main door. I let out another sigh before I unbuckled my seatbelt and got off.

I opened the door for Mrs. Kim and she didn't even thank me when she got off and walked straight inside Mr. Kim's house without looking back.

"What a bitch." I mumbled.

"I'm really sorry about her." Rosie said apologetically and she smiled at me warmly. She's actually pretty without her shades on. She has this cute puffy cheeks and pointed nose, red and kissable lips, perfect white teeth and cute double eyelid eyes. I got to scan her now because I was so mesmerized with her warm and cute smile.

"Don't worry, I was informed that she's really a bit rude." I said to assure her and rubbed her shoulder.

"She's actually nice, I just don't understand where those rumors are coming from." She said and I almost snorted.

Rumors? She's actually showing me that those rumors are true.

"Anyway, I have to go. I still have a job other than being your boss's driver." I joked and she laughed.

After I put all of their luggage in the front door, I hopped in my car and left Kim's house. Actually, I don't have to go in a rush since Timothy knows that I picked up her wife at the airport. It's just that I felt something weird the way Mrs. Kim stayed at the staircase while looking at me as I'm talking with her secretary.

"She's weird." I shrieked when I finally left the subdivision and headed straight to Seulrene coffee shop to grab some snacks before going back to the company.

As I sat on the far end table of the shop while waiting for my coffee to go and some cakes, my phone vibrated. I fished it out from my pocket and my forehead furrowed upon seeing a number that is not registered on my phone book. I opened it and the moment I read the message, I frowned.

'Save my number.'

"Whoever you are, fuck you. I've had my worst day of my life. I have no time for some bullshit coming from an unknown number." I mumbled and deleted her number before shoving back my phone inside my pocket.
