3 Where's The Girl

The next morning

Elena toss on the soft bed. This was the best sleep she ever had. She shield her eyes from the rays of the sun that hit her window and sat up excitedly with a lazy grin on her face, her hair now like bird nest. The room was well furnished with furnitures and electronic gadgets. Climbing down the bed she look around the room in admiration. She twirled and look at her new dress, not knowing how it got on her. The fabric was smooth and light to touch unlike her thick clothes.

After admiring and touching everything inside the room, she walk to the door excitedly.

Darren had just passed her room when he heard a noise from behind. Turning back, he saw Elena standing close to her door. She was still putting on the nightdress of last night, her little eyes looking warily at him.

"How was your night?" He ask and walk back to where she was.

Elena blink and nod her head. Darren smiled and pat her hair gently "I'm leaving. Dan will take care of you."

She nods again and look over his shoulder. Standing there was Dan with a sullen expression on his face. She frown and pouted. If only she could speak, she would have latch out on the stubborn assistant.

Darren drop his hand from her hair and turn to look at Dan "you see Dan? She don't like you so treat her well," he said and was about to leave when she tug on his sleeve.

Kyle look at duo in amusement. The girl was cute even if she doesn't talk. Darren sighed inwardly. " What do you want?" he ask a bit angry.

Elena still at his question, she also felt the change in his voice, her hands fell to her sides. She shook her head and rush inside her room and shut the door with a light bang. Darren grinned 'this girl is something' he thought.

"Dan, remember what I told you," he said and walk towards the staircase with Kyle behind him.

Dan exhaled heavily, if only he could find a girlfriend for himself he wouldn't be here guarding a dumb girl. He walk to the kitchen with his ever serious expression. The butler was also heading towards him with a stack of blankets in his hand.

"Make breakfast for our guest," he said and look at the butler with a smile "oh...for two. Don't forget the girl is a special guest and me, her special bodyguard," he added before walking away. The butler was surprise, 'special guest', Darren never had special guests.

Elena tiptoed out of her room when the corridor became quiet. She hurried down the staircase and came out of the mansion. Her heart fluttered at the beauty of the mansion. She store to the back area and sat on the ground near the little flower bed.

When she went back into her room, she caught sight of this place through her window.

while she was enjoying the fresh surrounding, she sighted a rabbit on the field. She squat near the field without making a sound so as not to alert the fat sleeping bunny and watch it quietly.

Dan returned to Elena's room and knock on her door but there was no reply. He stood there for sometime but the door didn't open. Thinking she was still angry, he sat on the floor leisurely and yawn widely. "This girl is so terrible. I think she's pretending that she doesn't talk to fool boss. Those stupid ladies finding one way or the other to get on boss good side," he muttered and lean against the wall.

Later, the butler brought the meal he prepared for breakfast, seeing Dan sleeping close to the door, he opened it and went inside Elena's room. No one knew she wasn't there.

The butler kept the food on the table quietly. The girl was not on her bed so he guess she might be inside the bathroom. Besides, Dan was sitting close to the door so there was no need to worry too much. He arranged the messed up bed and changed the blanket before leaving the room.

Two hours later, the sounds of footsteps woke Dan up from his short sleep. He creased his brow when he saw Darren and Kyle walking towards him. Behind them was a middle aged man.

"Dan where's the girl?" Darren ask when he didn't find Elena inside her room.

"She's inside her room," he hesitated not knowing the girl left the mansion few hours ago.

After Darren left the mansion he told Kyle to call his Doctor. The girl needs to be checked properly if she has an illness and why she doesn't talk. Kyle drove them to Spring health Hospital and pick up the middle aged man, Doctor Fredrick. They went back to the mansion together only to find Dan sleeping at the side of the girl's room.

On getting inside, he saw Elena wasn't there. Dan turn stiff as stone after searching the entire room. Darren rush outside the room in haste while Dan and Kyle went to the butler.

"Jan did you see the girl? You brought food for her that time, was she in her room?"

"I thought maybe she was in the bathroom," the butler quickly defend himself.

Kyle stare at Dan who look frustrated. "The girl must have left before both of you went there," he said.

"Shut up Kyle!" Dan yelled.

Kyle gave him a lopsided smile. "Don't shout at me, you should have done your job perfectly as a bodyguard. Not a sleeping moron."

Anger bust inside Dan's chest and pulled Kyle by his collar, he raise his fist and was about punching Kyle when the Doctor cleared his throat.

Meanwhile inside the garden at the back of the mansion, Elena lay quietly on the carpet grass. Darren spotted the girl from her room, he exhaled exasperatedly and head for the garden to meet her.
