1 Coming Of Age - Chapter 1

"Miss Maya, would you calm down already?" Jemma asked sighing, " I know it's a bad deal but there's nothing we can do about it now. Your father already signed the contract."

" I CAN'T BELIEVE HE WOULD DO SOME THING LIKE THIS. I SAID I DIDN'T WANT TO BE MARRIED OFF TO SOME RANDOM STRANGER!" Maya yelled angrily.

"But, Miss, the company needs the money. You know your father loves you, you have to trust that he has handed you over to someone kind..." Jemma said comfortingly.

"I KNOW! BUT, its-its-i-its JUST NOT FAIR! I JUST TURNED TWENTY. I WAS GOING TO TAKE OVER THE COMPANY AS THE CHAIRWOMAN. I WAS GOING TO RENOVATE THE OLD PLACE AND BRING BACK THE GLORY" Maya threw her self on her bed crying.

After Jemma left the room, she could hear her dad asking about how she was doing. She heard Jemma reply, "I'm sorry, sir, she's worked her self up into a state. I can't calm her down..I think maybe it's best we just leave her alone for the night."

At least Jemma didn't let her father come into her room, that would have made the situation worse. She had to go a ceremony tomorrow, called the coming of age. It would be where she met her future husband. Maya broke into a sob, She couldn't even bare to think about it.

"Miss Maya! Wake up!" shouted a voice, "your going to be late!"

"Five more minutes mum...." Maya said slurrily.

"Whoah there, who's your mother, I mean, ok I'm young but...." said the very, very familiar voice.

Maya woke up with a start, "Grandma," she cried, "You're here to save me."

"Maya, sweetie, save you for what? hmmm?" Grandma said pretending to be confused.

"The forced marriage!!!" Maya replied happily, "I knew you would come...."

"Maya, darling, sorry to burst your bubble but," Grandma replied hastily....
