A call at night

It was about five in the morning when Greg was finally able to get home from Tony. The children, as promised, returned by two o'clock and most likely were already asleep. The legs barely moved up the stairs. It felt like a huge stone was attached to each boot. And the prospect of sleeping alone in this big and empty bed was not at all pleasing.

Greg did not even turn on the light, entering the bedroom. Pulling off his shirt, he was ready to fall onto the bed when a sudden signal rang in silence.

Greg cursed, looking in the dark for the phone. Recently, he really wanted to break this device on the wall, because each new call carried only new problems.

Lana's number appeared on the screen, forcing Greg to hold his breath.

"Lana?" - He called in a worried voice. - "What happened ?!"

"Daaarling!" - Came a slurred voice of the girl - " My sweetest honey! I miss you sooo much!"

Lana was stammering and sounded very odd. She even hickuped a few times.
