6 Too Casual (1)

The voices forced the two of them to turn around as they looked for their owners. As soon as their eyes landed on the two sisters, their expressions took a 180 degree shift, from being a mix of confused and jolly to nothing but blank.

Corey was cursing himself internally even when his face gave nothing away. In fact, he might even pass for being a statue if he was to continue with it for long.

On the other hand, the lady who was toppled down to the ground by Corey, was looking everywhere but at the two sisters. Her chocolate brown orbs were searching for something which might intrigue them enough to hold her gaze while she would be berated by the pair, like always.

"What is she doing here?"

"What are you doing here?"

Priscilla and Porsha both exclaimed at the same time. The only difference was that Priscilla's words were directed at her younger sister, Porsha, while Porsha was more focused on inquiring the lady.

"I don't know what she is down here. I specifically instructed her to stay in her room until the both of us are back." Porsha turned her attention towards her elder sister and answered her. "Did I not tell you to do that, Noelle?" She snapped her neck in the lady's direction and questioned her once again.

"You did." The lady replied to her in a meek voice as she came to the decision of focusing her eyes on her knotted fingers.

"Then may I ask what are you doing here, Noelle?" Priscilla hissed at her as she scrunched her face up in an unpleasant expression as if she was tasting something foul.

"I came downstairs to have my lunch." The lady name Noelle replied to her, keeping her head bowed down.

"Lunch? This is no lunchtime. Do you think that you can easily make a fool out of us by lying to our faces." Porsha spoke up, scowling at her.

"I was hungry, and I thought…" Noelle trailed off, not knowing how to continue with her words. She was hoping not to run into the two of them. That was one of the reasons why she had waited for so long after Porsha had instructed her to stay inside her room before she came downstairs. She was caught by her already once, she didn't want to get into trouble again.

"Noelle, how could you do this to your sisters? We had only asked so little of you, and you can't even do it for our sake." Priscilla chimed in as she shook her head to the side. She sounded like it was Noelle who was at the wrong here.

Meanwhile, Corey, who had been watching it all from the sidelines, couldn't help but think things through, not once, but twice. He was having a hard time trusting his own ears as his eyes jumped from the two evil sisters, as he had named them, to the young lady who was now standing a step ahead of him.

'How are they sisters?' He thought to himself as his mind compared them.

Unlike the two ladies who had done nothing except for throwing jibes at him since the moment they met, she had treated him with nothing but kindness. She was too nice to him even when it was his fault that she found herself on the floor before so many people. She seemed to have an easy going personality while the two evil sisters from earlier were too uptight, wanting everything to be done their way.

'Impossible.' There was no way the three of them shared the same blood. He refused to believe it. How could people coming from the same family be so different?

Even if one was to take their ways of dressing up into account, they appeared to be coming from two different words. Unlike them, Noelle was dressed in simple faded blue jeans which were paired with a loose button down white shirt, while her hair was let free. She wasn't supporting any jewellery except for a pair of simple studs which would hardly be visible from a distance.

"You could have ordered things up in your room. We never say no to it, do we?" Porsha interfered once again.

"Do we?" Priscilla demanded when she didn't get a response from Noelle.

"You don't." Noelle mumbled as she played with her fingers. She was acting like it was her who was at fault when any other person would think otherwise.

"Then what were you doing out here?" Priscilla continued.

"I wanted to eat at the dining hall." Noelle answered her honestly. It had already been three days since she was stuck inside her room. The only time she left was to head upstairs at the presidential suite to help her sisters out. It was either helping them with what pair of earrings they should go with for a dress, or helping them out with the office's work. If it was the latter case she was sent downstairs to her room soon after they would shove a bunch of files in her hands.

All she wanted to do was have a peaceful lunch in a place which wasn't her hotel room, and where she could eat to her heart's content without people recognizing her.

"Go up to your room, right now, Noelle Sundseth. Don't forget who you are!" With a warning, Priscilla dismissed her. "And I don't want to see you out in the open wearing rags like these." She didn't forget to add a humiliating remark about her clothes.

"What's wrong with these?" Noelle couldn't stop herself from asking her elder sister as she eyed her outfit. For her, it seemed completely normal, and clean. Not a speck of dust could be found sticking to them even after she had a fall.

"Are you serious?" Porsha spoke in between before Priscilla could. "They are so…" She trailed off as she thought of a word which would fit her appearance perfectly.

"Too casual." Priscilla finished off her sentence with a scowl on her face.

"I know that it is casual, but I wasn't supposed to go to some party." Noelle stated as a matter of fact. "You tell them. Does it look bad?" She trailed her eyes back to Corey, who was standing a step behind her with his head bowed down, and asked for his opinion.

"Does it look bad?" She repeated her question as she gestured towards her clothes.

Corey snapped his head up at her and stared back into her glazy chocolate orbs. There was a small smile which was tugging at her lips which in turn was tugging at the strings of his heart, and all he could do was stare back at her.
