210 Too Good To Be True

Vanessa's eyelids froze just as every part of her body as she unblinkingly stared at Alex. 

What did he just say? She mused. She was his surrogate?

Vanessa was sure she had misheard him. She must have. 

There was no way she could be his surrogate, was there? She was certain there wasn't. She must definitely have misheard him. 

Keenly peering at her, Alex observed the doubt and denial in her eyes. He could tell she didn't believe him or was too shocked to believe him. He had envisioned this to be her reaction. 

Slowly reaching for her hand, Alex placed his hand on hers, and Vanessa transfixedly lowered her eyes to it before raising her gaze to his face. "Nessa, this is real." He softly said in a convincing tone. "You're really my surrogate, and this baby," his eyes lowered to her huge baby bump, housing his baby before staring back at her face, "This baby is ours. Yours and mine," he said.
