Alex didn't know how long he sat in his car reading those letters one after the other, but the more he read the letters the more hurt he felt.
When the pain in his chest became unbearable and he couldn't handle the feeling of anger or betrayal anymore, he turned on his car's ignition and drove off.
He didn't care that he was not following protocol by calling the nursing home first. No, sir! Fuck protocols. He didn't care about that. Not right now.
He wanted nothing more than to confront his father with the evidence in his hands. He wanted to look his father dead in the eye and ask him why he never once showed him the letters or told him that his mother was trying to reach him.
He wanted his father to tell him why he had lied to him and deceived him, telling him all these years that his mother had abandoned him.
