Ingrid and Caym strode through the dimly lit corridors of the barracks building, the flickering torches casting dancing shadows along the stone walls. The soft glow of the torchlight illuminated their path, guiding them through the labyrinthine passages with an eerie yet comforting warmth.

As they walked, Ingrid couldn't help but steal glances through the narrow windows that lined the corridor, catching glimpses of the barracks grounds below. From this vantage point, she could see the sprawling expanse of the empty training yard.

Turning to Caym, Ingrid raised a brow. "Am I even allowed to be here, Grand Commander?" she asked gently.

"Didn't the Emperor mention that you're allowed to access any part of the Imperial Palace?" Caym inquired.

"Well... technically, yes," Ingrid conceded. "But you understand that's not quite what I intended to ask."
