Sweet sixteen?....not in my life

16 year old Ruby might be the first teen to be this innocent and naive, naive enough to fall for the things her parents told her about the world.

'The world is a dark place daughter you wouldn't wanna see it'.

'We just want to protect you sweetheart, we don't want to you to get hurt'.

For 16 years she believed it and still does but this doesn't stop her desire to see beyond the territory she was confined in. Her brother had so much fun going out, with his friends. She didn't even know what friendship means.

Mark sometimes brought some of his friends home but she never saw them they when straight to Mark's room nor they knew about her existence.

Mark wasn't allowed to speak about his sister to anyone.

Having restrictions and no friends, Ruby spent her time painting or reading. Studying was never a difficult task for her maybe because she rarely went out, she wanted to learn more about the outside world even if it meant becoming a bookworm.

She graduated at the age of 16 as she jumped grades with her excellent performance. Her parents made her attend personal dance and singing classes.

She was living a total princess life but that wasn't what she wanted, she wanted to be herself ,the girl who wears over-sized shirts and hoodies not pretty dresses.

Being born in one of the richest family in UK, she attended the best online college but she wanted to go to a real college with other students.

'Maybe that's how I am going to live my entire life, trapped in these dull walls', Ruby thought while working on her new painting.

But maybe she didn't knew that something or someone is going to change her life forever...
