Growing Up: Part 1
July 31, 1980
In a little cottage in the town of Godric's Hollow, there was a pregnant woman with red hair and piercing green eyes going into labor. Holding her hand on the right of her was her husband, with untamable blackish brown hair and hazel brown eyes. They were James Potter and his wife Lily Potter nee Evans. Serving as midwife was Molly Weasley, who having had 6 children before, giving her a special insight to birth giving.
Lily is yelling and accidental magic from her is bursting, destroying the room that they were in. The lights flickered with the yelling and her contractions. Molly yells to give just another push, and with that push comes one Charles James Potter at 9:38 PM.
But the birth of Charles did not stop the contactions for Lily. In fact, they became more painful. Because of this, James notifies their professor and leader Albus Dumbledore, who brings the healer Poppy Pomfrey with him. Once they arrive, Poppy does a spell to discover what the problem is with Lily. She soon discovers that nothing was wrong with her, but that the Harry was infact the first born twin. Lily had yet to give birth to her other child.
With the help of both Molly and Madame Pomfrey, Lily successfully delivered the second baby at 11:59 PM. The boy's name was Hadrian James Potter.
September 18, 1980
It had been a little more than a month since Lily had given birth to her children, and everything was ging well for the family. There was a peace for the family as they relaxed and bonded together. This peace was fragile and would be broken within the next year.
It would be broken by their leader and teacher, Albus Dumbledore. You see, Dumbledore leads a vigelante group called the Order of the Pheonix. This order was created to fight of the dark wizard terrorists known as the Death Eaters lead by the Dark Lord Voldemort, who most refer to as He who must not be named, or you know who. James and Lily Potter joined this order and had fought You know who to a standstill three times, as well as fighting many of his followers. The couple had took a break from the order as soon as they discovered that Lily was pregnant, and haven't participated since.
October 3, 1981
Albus Dumbledore, an old man with a long beard that seems to touch the floor and wears a colorful robe. He wears half moon shape glasses over a crooked nose. He walks to the door of the cottage and nocks on the door. James opens it with slight surprise, welcomes his old teacher into his home. They walk into the cottage and joind Lily as she is playing with her twin baby boys. They sit in silence, the only sound coming from the soft gurgles of baby boys.
Dumbledore starts with a grim face, "I'm afraid I have some unsettling news."
Lily looks up to him and asks, "What is it, Professor?"
"There was a prophecy. It stated that the someone with the power to defeat the dark lord had been born as the seventh month dies, born from those who had thrice defied him. It has come to my notice that the dark lord had discovered the prophecy and will hunt down any he believes to be the one to who could fit this description, which incuded Frank and Alice Longbottom's son, Neville, or either Carles or Harry." Dumbledore explains.
"Professor, What should we do? If one of our children is the one from the prophecy, than You know who will come and try to find him." said James, worried for his children.
"I Believe that the only safe option would be for you two to go into hiding under the fidelius charm. I would cast the spell for you and you chose a secret keeper that you deem best." Dumbledore replied.
"Oh, professor, why does it have to been our child?" Lily exclaimed.
"We can't help it Lilypad. We just have to the best for our sons." James tried to comfort his wife but she ended up crying for the fact that her children would be in danger.
October 20, 1981
In preperation for going into hiding, Lily and James chose Sirius Black, the boys' godfather and James' sworn brother, to be their secret keeper. Once the fidelius charm was up, no matter how much He who must not be named tried to find the Potter residence, it remained hidden from his view. Now as the dark lord was intelligent, though evil, he knew that the Potters would choose someone that they trusted. He also knew of James' group of friends from school, called thre Mauraders. This was a group with Sirius black and James Potter as the leaders. They were pranksters that seemed inseperable. They came up with names for each other. James was prongs. Sirius was Padfoot. Remus Lupin was Mooney. And Peter Pettigrew was Wormtail. These nicknames were based on their Animagus transformations. James was a stag, a male deer. Sirius was a dog. Peter was a rat. Remus was not an animagus but he was the reson for the others becoming one as he was suffering from the werewolf curse. This caused him to turn into a semi bipedal wolf on the full moon which made him loose his mind. Being with his friends animagus forms allowed him to feel more human and keep his transformation from seeming as much like a curse as it had been. From this, it can be derived that the four friends were incredibly close.
Sirius understood this, however. He knew that the dark lord would know that he was the secret keeper. Thus, he tried everything to convince James and Lily to change the secret keeper without informing anyone so that the dark lord would chase Sirius on a wild goose chase. This plan would ensure that the kids would be kept safe from the dark lord looking for them. James and Lily finally agreed to this and renamed Peter Pettigrew as the secret keeper.
