Missed texts and calls

The next morning Amya woke up to the sweet smell of pancakes being prepared by her mother in the kitchen. Although she did not have a good night sleep, the sweet aroma melted all her tiredness away and she quickly got out of bed and went to freshen up in the bathroom. After freshening up she put on some warm clothes then she went downstairs to eat breakfast.

Amya arrived in the dining room and saw her mother already setting up the table. Amya's mouth watered upon seeing all the delicious delicacies placed on the table from freshly baked bread, buns, biscuits, pancakes, toast to freshly brewed coffee and tea. "Good morning mom", greeted Amya. " Oh good morning my dear. How was your night?", asked Amber whilst she finished setting the table. "Oh it was ok and how was yours", replied Amya whilst taking her seat at the table. "Well...it was also ok", said Amber. " Mmmm...wow mom these delicacies smell delicious that I just can't wait to eat them", said Amya whilst smiling brightly and beaming at the food. "Well I hope you enjoy them. Please help yourself while I go and call your Grandma to come and join us", said Amber whilst leaving the dining room. " Ok mom", said Amya and she began to serve herself some breakfast.

But before she could even take a bite of her breakfast, the doorbell rang and she went to answer it. "Dave!!" Exclaimed Amya after seeing who it was. "Good morning my love", said David whilst hugging Amya and giving her a quick kiss on the lips. "I hope I am not late for breakfast", said David whilst entering the house and removing his overcoat and hanging it on the coat rack by the door. "No you are not. Actually you are just in time", replied Amya whilst ushering David to the dining room. "David.. you here...what a surprise. I didn't know you were going to come and join us for breakfast", said grandma Esme who had just arrived in the dining room and eat her breakfast alongside Amber. "Good morning Grandma Esme and good morning Miss Cora. I am sorry for budging into your home so early in the morning. The truth is I am used to eating breakfast with my family back at home that eating alone is a bit uncomfortable. So I decided to come over and join you for breakfast if its ok with you", said David. "Of course its ok David. There is plenty of food to go around. Please take a seat and join us", said grandma Esme whilst also taking her seat at the table. " Thank you ma'am ", said David whilst taking his seat at the table beside Amya.

After breakfast, Amya and David went to sit at the side pouch of the house whilst snuggling under a blanket and drinking some hot coco. " I texted you a lot last night after arriving at the motel. But you did not answer any of my texts. Why is that?" Asked David. "Wait you texted me? I am sorry I did not realise. I think I was so tired that I fell asleep with my phone still on silent. And I think its still on silent right now", replied Amya whilst taking out her cellphone from her coat's pocket and seeing that indeed the phone was on silent mode. And she saw all the six texts that came from David and also some texts and missed calls from her best friend. " Oh my love I am so sorry. I hope you were not mad at me for not replying you back", said Amya. "Its ok my love. I am not mad at you. Although I was worried because you always replied to my texts and seeing you not replying I thought that maybe... I had done something wrong and you were upset with me. That is also the reason that I came to join you for breakfast today because I wanted to know if you were upset with me", said David. " No of course not my love. I would never be upset with you. And you never did anything wrong at all. I am sorry that my ignorance to unsilent my phone caused you to feel that way. Please forgive me baby. I promise I will not make the same mistake again Ok", said Amya whilst wrapping her arms around David's neck and looking at him with pleading eyes for forgiveness. David did not respond but placed his mug of hot coco down and captured Amya's lips with his own in a searing passionate kiss.

After a few more kisses he spoke near Amya's lips saying, "Does that answer your question babe. But please don't do that ever again. Otherwise I might go crazy". "I promise you that it will never happen again. I love you Dave", said Amya. " And I love you more Amya", said David and he captured Amya's lips again in another passionate kiss. However, their passionate moment was interrupted by Amber who loudly cleared her throat to get the two lovebirds attention. "Oh mother!" Exclaimed Amya whilst disengaging herself from David with her cheeks flushed in embarassment. "I am sorry for...interrupting your moment but Amya I need you to drive into town and buy some groceries for the house, and also for the Christmas jubilee celebration which is taking place the day after tomorrow if you do not mind.", said Amber. " Of course mom. I will do that right away", replied Amya whilst standing up from the bench. "You can take my car. Your grandmother's still needs a little repairing", said Amber. " Ok mom! I will go right now. If you will excuse me", said Amya whilst leaving to go to town and David also stood up to follow her saying, "Wait for me my love I will come with you" . "Oh not you David. I need you to stay behind and help with some things if you do not mind", said Amber. " Oh of course not Miss Cora. What can I help you with?" asked David. " Follow me", said Amber and she went back into the house.

At the shopping mall Amya had just finished purchasing the groceries and on her way back to the car when her phone rang and she saw that her dear bestie was the one calling. After picking up the call she heard her best friend's annoyed voice saying, "finally you pick up!" "Hey Mona what's up!" Said Amya. "What's up! You are seriously asking me what's up! I called you and texted you a couple of times yesterday to hear if you arrived safely but you never replied me not even once or even bother to return my calls! That's not cool Amy! Not cool at all!!" Thundered Monalisa over the phone.

"Oh Mona! I am so sorry! I am really truly sorry! A lot happened yesterday and I forgot to turn my phone on from silent mode so I

did not hear any of your calls and texts. I am really sorry. Please forgive my friend", said Amya. " Oh ok girlfriend. I forgive you but don't you do that ever again. Otherwise I will block your calls and texts and won't speak to you for a month! To get even!" Said Monalisa. "Ok! Ok! I promise! I will never do that again! I swear!" Said Amya. "Ok girlfriend. Now tell me the juicy drama that happened yesterday. Since you already mentioned that a lot happened yesterday. I am pretty sure that something juicy took place. So tell me! Tell me... tell me...tell me!" Squirmed Monalisa. " Ok! Ok! Calm down, I will tell you all that happened but as soon as I get home because right now I am kind of busy. I am doing some grocery shopping in town and I am about to leave to go home. So I promise to call you as soon as I get the chance back at home ok!" Said Amya. "Ok girlfriend. I guess I will have to painstakingly wait for the juicy news. Ok dear. Don't forget your promise!" Said Monalisa. "I promise I won't forget!" Said Amya. "Ok girlfriend. Till then bye!" Said Monalisa. "Bye!" Said Amya and she hung up the phone.

After hanging up the call, Amya continued her walk to the car. And after placing her groceries in the car, she felt someone walking slowly towards her. And when she turned around to see who it was, her eyes went wide on seeing who it was. "Hello Amya", said the person.
