Chapter 14

BushThorn stayed with QuiverWing and Scorch at the herb station for the rest of the day. "Don't look so bored, herbs can be fun" Scorch joked once he saw her bored expression.

"I doubt that" BushThorn played along.

"Well you don't have to stay here" Scorch shrugged.

"I have no where else to go" BushThorn shrugged back, she was sitting infront of Needle who was passed out and barely breathing.

"You say he will be fine but that look says otherwise" Scorches ghostly face showed a frown.

"I was told that he would be fine-" BushThorn new that she messed up when she said that.

"Who told you that?" Scorch had a slight growl in his throat.

"Oh umm, don't worry" BushThorn tried.

"I've been in the void and I know that it doesn't talk" Scorch narrowed his eyes.

"Fine... Lakarr is still there and he told me that he would survive and he put a spell on him so he won't go into a fit" BushThorn flicked a stone on the floor.

"Of course, he would say that but in reality he does nothing" he snarled softly.

"So all hopes are lost, he might not make it" BushThorn heard the description in her voice.

"No, I will heal him the best I can" Scorch promised but had a desperate look in his eyes. BushThorn could see that he died feel confident in his survival, "you know cloud slashers have this unique feature that a simple touch will make them heal quicker, so could keep an eye on his while I go out getting herbs?" Scorch asked.

"No problem, so just cuddle up to his?" BushThorn wanted to clarify.

"Yes that would be lovely, his flock mates all have the cold and doesn't want to give it to him" Scorch nodded then grabbed a basket and headed out. BushThorn cuddled up carefully to his back and then lit a flame in her stomach to keep him warm.

She saw Slayer looking over at her, he then walked over to her. "Umm, I don't think he liked you that well" he fiddled his claws.

"Scorch said it would help him" BushThorn sounded hopeless.

"Let me join then" Slayer nudged her over and he also cuddled into his back and lit a flame in his stomach.

Needle opend his eyes looking confused, "what?" he weezed.

"Don't talk and rest, you need it" Slayer rubed his chin on Slayers neck.

"did... did we win?" Needle asked with a gasp.

"Yes we did" BushThorn answered and Needle wiggled in surprise. "Calm down, don't move around too much please it could kill you" BushThorn begged.

"Slayer explain" he ordered.

"BushThorn saved you, she even went into the void to find an answer to heal you" he explained.

"But now I'm not too sure" BushThorn admitted.

"I don't trust you" Needle wiggled again with struggle.

"I understood that and I don't blame you but I want you to know that I want Petle dead as much as you" BushThorn felt tears form in her eyes as she remembered how limp and lifeless Needle looked when Petle dragged him with her diamond extension claws.

"Get of" Needle ordered her.

"No, Scorch said that it would make your wounds heal faster" BushThorn declared.

"You're not gonna get her of you" Slayer cuddled into his alfa.

"I thought so" Needle tried to sigh but his breathing was too light to do so.

BushThorn hugged into Needle refusing to let him go. BushThorn feel asleep there that night, she had a dream that Needle was commanding his flock into battle. It was against Petle and there was about a hundred dragons there, after a while most of the dragons fell and then Needle landed on a ledge where a smaller cloud slasher had his belly slashed. "Uncle please don't leave me" he cried.

"I'm sorry, I so sorry Bulga but I have to stop her" Needle rested his chin on Bulgas head then flew of towards Petle who had Bulgas mothers (his last kin) dead body flop to the ground. "Needle!" Petle called out then stopped infront of him. "It sure would be ashame to have this flock exterminated" she laughed.

Needle saw that all the dragons stopped fighting, "How do you think of having the rest of your flock live on a tropical island and stay there and if you leave I will kill the rest of you or kill you all now?" Petle had her signature grin.

"What game are you playing?" he snarled.

"Your flock is no longer as large as it is, you are no longer a threat to me, well?" Petle had an inpatient look. Needle looked around, 'all these dragons that are left are counting on me to protect them'.

"Fine I'll accept" Needle narrowed his eyes.

"Good, GARDS! take them to there new home" she ordered then flew of. Needle went over to the ledge and saw that it's too late for Bulga, he was dead.

BushThorn woke up and realised that Needle was breathing more easily now, "I know that you got that dream, all cloud slashers can share any dream" he spoke.

"You home was beautiful" BushThorn flicked her tail.

"It was but most importantly is what Petle did" Needle was now able to growl a little before coughing.

"I'm not like and I'll never be, I'm sorry for what she did though your flock will get revenge" BushThorn promised.

"You amuse me" BushThorn could now realise that it was in the middle of the night

"Thanks but you should rest" BushThorn insisted.

"So should you, now Wrath did come over earlier and told me what happened but I'm not too sure about you" Needle narrowed his eyes. "But to let you know if anything happens I will order Slayer to kill you" he warned.

"You won't need to" BushThorn reinsured.

"Good, now tell me about the void" Needle asked.

"Oh well when an immortal dragon dies they wait in the void until a light shines and you wake up" BushThorn explained.

"Ok but what about the information?" Needle asked.

"Well there is a lot of information to be found there" BushThorn shrugged.

"Oh like a library?" he tilted his head.

"Yeah" BushThorn nodded.
