Part 3

Five years they lived together, until the broken man could no long  take he looks of the people in town. "I'm leaving." he told the girl.

"I will follow." she replied.

They moved away shortly after. The broken man slowly began to heal. His body and mind benefited from the girls care. But shortly after arriving in the new place another man caught the girls eye. She pursued him and forgot the broken man. Though his mind healed his body still faltered. The broken man cried for his loss. His body fought him and pained him. Now and then the girl would return to the broken man, but all the kindness she had was gone.

She began ordering the man to work so she can take the money. The broken man starved while the girl ate well. Two men took care of her, the broken man waited. His time with her changed him. He knew she would return to him again. He waited. She would come for money. Or talk about her man. Still he waited. After a year and  a half he stopped waiting.

"I will give you no more money. My ears are deaf to you. I have changed from your kindness and learned from your rejection. I have massaged your feet when you ask, but you can't rub my back in return. I pay your needs but you can't show me kindness. I do for you all a husband should but you sleep with another man. I have no kindness in me. All that I gave in return was love. Leave me now and do not return."

The girl grew angry and threw insults and spite at the man. He only sat there and listened. The girl stormed off from the hut they shared and the man locked the door. He sat there and waited. He waited for her to return to him. Hoping the girl that barged into his life would do so again.  Slowly the man grew old. Still he waited. Slowly the man starved so he could save the money. He waited. He waited his dying day.
