Disastrous Breakfast Time!

Lenora

The smell of croissants and coffee is calling me from the other side of the room. I wake up in a comfortable bed and a large room. Behind the window's curtains, there is a very bright light and I'm curious to see it. So, I stand up in my nightgown and walk to the window. I'm excited and scared at the same time to know what is behind those curtains. I reach for the curtains and quickly pull away but I'm immediately blinded by a strong light. I fall to the floor covering my eyes and memories of the ball and Lydia flash before my eyes and tears start rolling. I sob my eyes out unable to believe that my best friend could betray me like that. I feel myself being lifted by strong pairs of arms but I refuse to open my eyes. The familiar scent is strong and quick, the room is filled with a dominant masculine scent. For some reason, I feel safe in his grip.

"Thanks, Arthur!" I say before passing out.

Ace

"Who is Arthur?"

Whoever he is, I need to tell her the truth before it'll be late.

"Ruby, what do we do now?" I ask, sitting on the mysterious princess' bed. She looks pale and she keeps on repeating "Lydia" over and over again.

"She seems to have been through some shitty stuff. Can you just give us some privacy? Meet you at breakfast!" Ruby pushes me and shuts the door. whatever my sister is going to do, I trust her. I trust her with my mate.

Ruby

I'm a protective big sister and seeing my brother's mate laying there suffering from God knows what is just sad. She smells and looks different. She isn't a werewolf let alone a mermaid; she is something else. I grab a towel and open the hot water in the bathtub. I prepare the dress I brought earlier for her along with pieces of jewelry. I gently walk towards her; she looks like a sleeping beauty. Her hair is so inhumanly long and grey. for a moment, I doubt her physical appearance. She might be a shapeshifter or even worst! I slowly touch her grey hair and I'm impressed by how perfect it is. Mom once told us that every royal family or descendent has a crown mark on their right shoulders as a symbol of royalty. Perhaps if I check quickly on her shoulders, I might see if truly she is from royal blood. with care, I attempted to touch her shoulders but she grabs hold of me. The moment our eyes meet, I can swear I see her eyes' color change from grey to black.

"Who are you?" she asks, letting go of me.

"I'm sorry! I'm princess Ruby of the Dark-moon pack, Ace's big sister." I say taking a step back. "Ace heard you screaming and he asks me to take care of you," I add. She just stares at me and gets on her feet with her long but tangled hair sweeping the floor as she approaches. "Sorry for being aggressive, I'm princess Lenora but some people call me Lee." She says, smiling. Without warning, she drops her nightgown revealing her naked curvy body. Her body is covered up with bruises and a big hole in her stomach. I immediately turn away not wanting to be rude. "Lenora, what happened to your stomach?" I ask. "It's a long story for another time," she says, going straight to the bathroom. I open my eyes a little to catch a glimpse of her just to see a "TRIQUETRA- CELTIC MOON SYMBOL" on the back of her next as she enters the bathroom. Holy fuck, Ace needs to know.

It has been thirty minutes that Jaxon and I have been waiting for the girl to come and have breakfast. "I'm so happy for you bro! I mean you found your mate and all thanks go to me!" Jaxon sneers. "I'm your Alpha, not bro! and I haven't thought of a good punishment for drinking and going to the mermaid's territory," I say to which Jaxon lowers his head.

"So, you boys are having breakfast without us?" Ruby says, bringing my attention to her. Lenora appears right behind her and we all stand up. "Good morning your majesty!" Lenora says bowing her head. I can't help but love how respectful she is. "You must be Jaxon?" she asks looking at Jaxon who visibly has a bruised neck. "Yes! Unfortunately for me, my bruises aren't healing like usual." He says. "I'm sorry, I tend to get angry when chained up." She says innocently. "Close your eyes!" she says going to Jaxon. He does as she says. "I want you to focus on healing." She says. Getting closer to Jaxon irritates me and my wolf. With one move, she kisses Jaxon on her lips. I can feel my wolf screaming to rip Jaxon apart. But just then, her hair and eyes lids on just like white fire. Ruby backs away giggling but I can't control my furry anymore.

I feel Ace pulling me away from Jaxon like some angry father. My face slams into his muscular chest and his arms are wrapped around my waist. His eyes are now in golden shades staring right at me. I can feel his possessiveness towards me by just looking into his golden eyes. "Get out Jaxon!" he orders and Jaxon does as ordered. "Ace, stop! Can't you see how you're traumatizing the princess?" Ruby groans. But that didn't stop Ace from holding me tighter with his strong arms, I'm suffocating. "Ace please I can't breathe!" I say, breathlessly.

"YOU'RE MINE!" he says. He finally lets go of me after hearing a menacing growl. I fall to the floor but hopefully, ruby catches me. A very tall silhouette comes into view and scolds Ace. My vision goes blur as Ruby shakes me up but I am too weak to respond. The silhouette comes closer and for a moment, I see dad's disappointed face looking at me.

"Lenora, you humiliated me, I hate you!" he says with tears streaming down his face.

"Dad, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be a monster!" I say, blacking out.
