He closed his eyes as he let her scent sink deep within his sense of smell.

She smelt so good...more like vanilla

The two were now very close and Maverick was now closing his eyes as he inhaled her beautiful scent.

Calista lifted her head when he did not get away from her after she now sat comfortably.She found his eyes lightly shut and he was inhaling something.

That was pretty weird for her.

She slowly cleared her throat loud enough to bring him from whatever he was doing in her hair.

Maverick felt embarrassed that he was caught sniffing.He cleared his throat shortly as well before taking a seat on the bed,beside her.

"You have an allergy to flowers?"he asked calmly.Calista looked at him,this was the aftermath of getting married to a person they knew nothing about each other.

"Yea..."she began but Maverick hopped in before she could say any other thing,that is if she had anything else to say.

"So why did you take yourself there?...there are flowers all over at the garden so why would you go there if you have an allergy?"he asked in a calm tone but he was clearly pissed and he could not tell why...why was he even mad that she took herself there?Its not like it was any of her business.

Calista got mad as well.Did he really think that she would do harm to herself for any reason?And how was she even supposed to know that the way she took would lead her to the garden?

Everything had happened so fast and she was not aware why she collapsed so shortly after the allergic reaction.

"How was I supposed to know that I would end up there?I could not find my way and your house is just so annoyingly huge..."she spoke angrily.

She did not like it when anyone just made assumptions without wanting to know why what happened had happened.

"Are you really trying to defend yourself after scaring the hell out of me?"he now raised his voice abit at her.

How she hated that!...people shouting at her.

It always reminded her of memories she never wanted to remember.

"Never raise your voice at me please....and you have no need to be scared because of me,"she tried very hard to keep herself calm though she was seething deep down.

She had to keep her serenity now more than ever since she knew the kind of person he was always said to be.

Maverick looked at her when she spoke...he let out a silent sigh before patting his lips to speak.

"Am sorry about that...but never do that again.You scared me,"he confessed.He did not know how and when he had crossed the distance between them and he was now sitted very close to her.

Calista was a little moved by what he said.Apart from Nathan who was her friend,no other man had shown so much concern or atleast not such a beautiful man.

They gazed into each other's eyes as though they could peer deep into their souls.Being so close confirmed everything to Maverick. This woman before him was very beautiful and he yearned for her.He wanted to feel how her cheeks felt.Were they probably as soft as her palms had felt in his.Was her whole body as beautiful as her face and shape was?

His gaze fell on her pink full lips...how he wanted to devour them! Slowly,he inched his face closer.

Calista kept her eyes wide open as she looked at the man who seemed like he would kiss her anytime from now.She wanted to push him off but she could not.His beauty had really succeeded in arresting her ability to push him off.

Maverick knowingly raised his hand and slowly placed it on Calista's cheek then gave a little caress on it.He searched her eyes for any displeasure bit got none.

His thumb skillfully got to her lips and caressed it a bit making her close her eyes at the sensation she felt.

"It's fine Liz and besides,am very fine already now,"she assured her and Liz smiled before excusing herself.

Calista was now left alone in her room.Her hand went to her lips and a smile appeared on her beautiful lips.
