Roy....Ren!

Trust me when I say there is nothing as difficult and so annoyingly stressful as what I have been doing for these three days.

I have been online all days long looking for any job opportunity. Ofcourse I had found some vacancies but I did not qualify for any of those. I gave up and decided to go for what I had studied for at the University,Law.

But how could I think of getting a secretarial job if I did not even study one.

Desperation can be a freak.

So I was online looking for any job vacancy in any Law firm but there was none and I could not just remain sitted forever waiting for a vacancy in a law firm.

Wait..are there even vacancies in those firms,I doupt and as I said,I won't be sitting idly around forever.

Well, I decided to read something about the whole law profession. It has been years since I even listened to anything concerning courts and cases.

That is how I spent my day. Reading and reading about all those boring stuffs which made me end up tired before doing anything useful.

For a closure,I decided to check about the law firms.Actually,the best Law firm.

"Thompson Law Firm. The firm was established in the year 2009 by Mark Thompson and his wife Rachel Thompson. The firm is now under the leadership of Jake Thompson,the first son of the judge of the supreme court,his honour,Mr Mark Thompson...."I began reading the endless script on google.

I would actually say that my hopes on working at this firm had been shattered completely. It is the best Law Firm in Texas and I did not stand a chance of getting the job there.

Infact how would I even apply for the job there if it was the best lawyers working in that firm.

I almost logged out of that page when my eyes fell on the next sentence.

"Application for a job in the firm can be made anytime,given that the applicant has a degree from a reputable and known law school. The applicant should also be young and should have won atleast three cases during his/her internship or could be the lead to the winning of a case!..."

I frowned when I read the last part. Do I even stand a chance here despite that? I really do not think so but I do qualify if those were the requirements.

Anyways there is no harm in trying. There never has been a harm in trying anything that does not kill you,right?

I decided to give it a shot.

I wrote my application to Thompson Law Firm, St Louis Law Firm and Xi Lu Law Firm. Actually am not sure I can even make it to any of those but still, am gonna wait.

I mean better fail than not trying at all.

I closed my laptop ready to go downstairs. I had been in my room all day long,just sitting behind my computer.

I was almost at the door when my phone rang. I already knew who it was. How would I not if the only number I had in that phone was Maverick's.

I quickly walked back out of excitement and picked it up.

Oh,video call!

My excitement was right on spot replaced by nervousness. Would I be able to speak if I see his face!?

The call ended then the name Maverick appeared back on the screen again.

I took in a deep breathe then picked up the call.

His handsome face popped up and I tried not to gasp and gawk at that beautiful face. But still he looked so handsome you know. His hair looked ruffled and his face so musculine. His jaws so prominent and sharp. His lips quite pink and half full...so kissable..

"How are you?"his deep voice made me land back to earth.

"A- am fine Maverick and how are you?"I stammered at first but thank goodness it did not last long or I would be lost already just by a simple 'how are you!'

"Good...it's dinner time and you are still in your room? Aren't you eating?"he asked and I couldn't help my jaw drop. He sounded so caring and so concerned you know.

"I was actually going downstairs right before you called,"I was quick to mask my shock for his concern.

I saw him nod then there was silence. I looked at him looking at me for a while.

I hate to admit but like seriously this man is too cute to be real. Looking at him now,I wonder if he really is real or he is a just a magazine cover photo.

"Well you should go have dinner now and go to bed you look tired!"he spoke and I frowned. Was it so obvious or was the tiredness written everywhere on my face.

"Okay... wait!"I spoke then bit my inner cheek. Did I have to tell him to wait? Anyways since it had already come out,I had to continue with what I had to say. I actually wanted to ask how his day was.

"How was your...day?"I asked hesitantly. A smile appeared on his lips and I also almost smiled as well.

Smiles can be contagious.

I saw his eyes soften before they took their normal cold form.

"Good,"his voice was deep but much sounded much softer than his usual thunder.

"Actually your face tells otherwise?...you look so tired as well! Had a busy day?"I was again getting comfortable with him like last time. This is actually becoming a tendency, feeling nervous when he calls,then my head becoming blank for a while before getting comfortable.

"Nothing serious...just my normal schedule,"he spoke and I frowned.I did not actually believe that. That means he always gets extra tired everyday and that only happens to the workaholics.

"Then your schedule must be really tight. I think you should reschedule and have more time to rest,"I found my mouth blabbering already before I could even choose what to say.

I heard him chuckle deeply before responding.

"Maybe I will consider that..."

Now that came as a surprise. I expected him to tell me 'mind your business' but there we are.

"You really should or you would grow old before you are even in your forties,"I just joke and he chuckled again.

"Noted!"

"Anyways when are you coming home,again?"I asked then added the again when I remembered that he had already told me when he would be coming.

"Didn't I answer that question the other day?"he asked but his voice was not harsh as I expected. Maybe am just getting afraid of him for no good reason. I think I should try to stop expecting the worst from him.

"You did?"I asked faking a surprised tone.

"You really are an actress Ren,"he spoke and it was my turn to be amused.

Now who's Ren? Is that my new name?

"I was an actress,"I spoke emphasizing the word was.

"..and who is Ren?"I asked out of curiosity.

"Ren is..."he began then paused. I don't know why but my heart beat escalated when he paused. I was afraid of hearing the answer.

"Ren is my wife..."he finished his statement and I felt my breath leave my body for a second. Was he married before. If he was then who is Addison to him. I thought Addison was his girlfriend and they loved each other then which wife was he talking about...or is Ren Addison?

My confusion took the better of me. And what's this am feeling? My heart was beating fast and my legs turned into jelly. I found my sitted sitted on the bed.

"Oh.."is all I could say after a while of silence. I could see him smirk. Maybe he saw how confused I was right now. I cleared my throat and got hold of whatever that was making me behave like I just did.

"Are you okay?"he asked grinning at me.

Did I look otherwise to him?

"Ofcourse I am fine,"I spoke then smiled at him.

"So who is this Ren? I think I should have known your wife,"I spoke pushing the lump that was currently forming on my throat.

Goodness!What's this am feeling? Why is there a lump on my throat?

"Well,I actually thought that Roy is such a crazy name you gave me so as your husband I had to return the favour. So I came up with Ren for Serenity,"he spoke and I breathed out.

I did not even know that I had been holding my breathe.

I rolled up my eyes forgetting that he could actually see me.

Wait...was he just teasing and playing around with me? He made it sound like I was out of the topic...

"Wait...were you playing around?"I asked and he chuckled.

"Not really but I loved how your face turned red. Why were you so shocked? Would it be an issue if I have another wife?"he asked.

I smiled at that. Isn't that question funny? I mean he already has Addison and am leaving with it.

"Ofcourse not and you have Addison and am still breathing,am I not?"I asked after letting out a chuckle.

I could swear I saw his face change for a bit but I couldn't tell how it changed to.

"Anyways,you should get some rest. Take your dinner, freshen up then have some sleep,"I spoke with a sweet smile on and he smiled at me as well.

"And never think of pulling my leg next time Roy!"I warned with a smile.

"Ofcourse...Ren"he responded with a smile on. I waited for him to hang up the call but he did not and I could not bring myself to either. We stared at each other for a while.

A smile appeared on my face with how he was staring at me, intently.

A knock came to the door and I guessed it was one of the maids.

"Yes?"I called and the door opened and Rose appeared.

"Dinner is served ma'am."

"Thank you Rose. I will be there soon and if you are done with your work you can break for the day. I will take care of the rest,"I told her and she bowed with a smile before hurrying out.

"Take care of the rest? You already look tired!"Maverick spoke.

"Not as tired as they are Roy...I have to go now. Goodnight,"my voice lowered and softened when I said the goodnight.

He simply smiled then hanged up the call.

I grinned again looking at the now blank screen.

"Roy...Ren!"I could not hold back my giggle.
